Being offered is a Maytag model 92 engine and exhaust pipe that is ready to restore. The serial# dates this engine to 1929. The flywheel is pitted where the serial numbers are stamped. The only numbers the can be read are 406 26. The exhaust pipe is 5 ft. long. This engine has good compression. It also has a MAYTAG CHAMPION spark plug. VINTAGE / ANTIQUE MAYTAG MODEL 72 HIT & MISS STATIONARY ENGINE
For bid is a Maytag model 72 hit& miss engine. This engine is complete and in running condition. I worked on it last fall and got it running. Today. I put some gasoline in the tank and it started up with no problem. It runs very smooth. It was running when I took the close up pictures of the flywheel. I could not slow the shutter speed on my camera enough to show it running. There is a weld(braze) on the starter kick pedal as can be seen in a couple of the pictures. The repair was done very well, but nevertheless, it was repaired. This is an underslung type mount. There is a wrench included which is also shown in the pictures. This engine is used and is being sold as/is. Anyone in the 43402 area is welcome to contact me and inspect this engine.

VINTAGE MAYTAG MODEL 72-D (1940 - Nice Base) WASHING MACHINE ENGINE
Vintage Maytag Model 72-D Manufactured 1940 Washing Machine Engine. The Maytag Motor is in nice shape for its age. And has the rare attractive easy mounting cast base. The Motor was stored inside a building our family just got for many years. I cleaned the motor the best I could with out taking anything apart. The Maytag Motor appears complete with no missing. Cracked or broke parts other than the spark plug end on one side is broke. The rubber motor heat guards on spark plugs are damaged from heat. I took them off for cleaning and forgot to put on for pictures, I will send with machine. spark plug wires look good. I have not tried to start motor. I do not want to put gas in the tank and have the smell limit the possibility of shipping this item. I looked in the gas tank with a gun barrel light, the tank looks good the little bit I could ... moresee. The motor appears to have good compression. This auction is for a vintage 2 cylinder air cooled Maytag top mount hit n miss model 72-D engine. It comes with the top mounting bracket. The engine has compression and spark. I didn’t start this engine, gas tank needs cleaned, no leaks. Engine is in good physical condition with no cracks, breaks, or welds of any kind that I could find. This engine came from an estate sale. The kick start pedal will be removed to facilitate shipping. Look at the pictures for a better discription.

Antique Wooden Washing Machine with an Anchor Brand Wringer and a Maytag Model 92 Gas Motor. I got this Wooden Washing machine at a farm estate sale in Radisson Wisconsin. The family had lived on this farm for the last 150 years. I was told by the last family member that this washing machine was used by their great grandmother before they had electricity. This machine was always stored inside the barn. It appears very complete. There is a side stand that folds up and that I believe held a wash tub. Every part on this washing machine works. The wringer goes backward and forward. The agitator and arm work perfectly and the engine engagement arm work as designed. The Maytag motor looks complete but the end of the sparkplug is missing and also the side plate on the flywheel is missing. Note that I did not even polish it and it looks that good. The crank measures.872" at all the main bearing surfaces and is not out of round there. The retainer nut on the bottom came off easily so I could show a pic of the internal parts. The original inlet screeen and retainer are even still intact. The parts may need a little more cleaning. Here is a Fuel tank removed from a vintage early side exhaust model 92 washing machine engine serial number 325781. It also fits the later 92 Models. If you are restoring a correct early 92 here is a part for your consideration. It does not have the brass drain valve as some early ones had. The casting between the long end by the mount holes should be square not rounded so this MAY NOT BE AN ORIGINAL TANK for a side exhaust engine. The last pic shows A SMALL BROKEN CASTING AT A BOLT AREA. A lot of the threads are still there so I installed and tightened the bolt you see and it tightened ok and should work good. Maytag Piston and Cylinder STUCK From an Early Side Exhaust Model Vintage
Here is a piston and cylinder from a vintage side exhaust model 92 washing machine engine serial number 325781. IT IS SIEZED IN THE CYLINDER and at the very bottom of the stroke. The connecting rod looks very usable if you can salvage it. The crankshaft it came from was servicable. If you look at the pic into the exhaust port you can see the shine from the piston. It did. However, have chunks of rust in the cylinder and looks bad as I tried to show in one pic. Who knows, you may be able to salvage it once it is apart or at least the rod and piston. Tools to push the piston out are available on ebay. There is a BROKEN FIN. A small break of about an inch shown in the last 2 pics. The piece is there for repair. My bad. This is a 1927 Model 92 Maytag ringer washer hit and miss gas motor. It was completely redone about 7 years ago. The aluminum parts were burnished and cast was blasted and painted. The Champion spark plug was new. It has a lot of detail with quality(not broken or cracked) parts. I made the exhaust pipe for it and it makes smoke rings when it's running. This motor hasn't been started for two or three years it ran fine last time it was started and all the fuel was drained. I haven't tried to start it because it's very cold here. But I checked and it has good spark. It mounts on an oak cart that I made and has old steel wheels. This motor has a lot of detail and will be shipped in a well packed large box with wood floor. 1928 Maytag Model #92 Hit and Miss Gas Engine Vintage Washer
This is a vintage Maytag Model 92 hit and miss engine. The serial number is faint but the number is 262757. Which means it was made between January 1st and March 30th, 1928. It is mostly complete. But is missing the exhaust and air intake assembly. It may be missing other things, I do not know, please see the pictures. It looks like the kick start catch broke and was welded at one point, please see the pictures. It does not turn over. When I first got the engine, it turned over smoothly and seemed to have compression. But it has since become stuck, I don't know if condensation got inside or what. I did not try to start it, and I did not measure the compression. The kick start mechanism works but will need to be lubricated. Overall a nice vintage piece. Sold as is. Vintage/Antique Model 72-D Maytag Twin Cylinder Engine - Rare - Good Condition
I have not tried to start this engine. But it turns with very smooth and strong compression, and fires at the plug, so I see no reason why it wouldn't run well. I just don't have a clue how to run one of these engines! This one came out of an old Maine country farm. Where it sat unused for the many years years since electric lines reached the homestead.
