I did some research On this, found A couple adds That show A rotary type Mag From this Company, but not one that trips like this, They advertise they can"Build A magneto for any Application" So this May Have been An aftermarket replacement Mag, Or could Have been ordered By A manufacturer For A certain Tractor or Gas Engine. Roller is nice and spins freely but has one small flat spot. Complete webster magneto trip part number 345K30. No cracks, breaks, or welds. Nice looking push rod. Cleaned, greased and put back together. A new lead out tower has been fabricated for better transfer of current to the igniter. A new band which holds the magnets has been fabricated. Magnets were cracked. John Deere Hit & Miss Engine E 1 1/2 hp Antique 1928 Cast Fly Wheel Magneto Old
You will be hard pressed to find one any greaser than this one. A true barn find. This 1928 John Deere 1.5 hp. model E. starts and runs well on the magneto with good compression. I have found no damage or repairs to the engine or to what I believe to be the original cart. Only down side other than the dirt and grease. Is oil in the gas so it will need at least a new pan gasket and possibly a new pan. The gas tank appears to be solid. Clean it up or leave it dirty the choice is yours. Possibly for generator use. I hooked up a battery and coil, squirted gas in the carb, and it fired right off and ran great till the fuel ran out.
