I personally used this rod one time. Before me- it appeared unused. I took this to Gustavis Alaska this last August to visit my brother who was working at Glacier Bay National Park. He informed me that i would need a good trout rod. As right behind the park- there was an inlet, and he was catching Beautiful little Dolly Varden, and Sea Run Cutthroats on a regular basis when he was not working. I was all over it- and this rod was easy to transport- right in my luggage- for the flight up there. Let me tell you- it fishes like a dream! Very sweet light action- I was able to snag 4 of the Dollys- all about 1-2 pounds. Holy smokes- what fun that was. The rod performed better than I expected. Really nice to catch a fish on. More on the rod- as I said- it appeared unused when I got it several years ago. I bought second hand- and it has been sitting ever since- as I never had a chance to get away. I made darn sure to take extra special care of it while I was using it. As it is in such sweet condition. I would love to call it mint condition, but can not as i know I used it. This is a vintage Wright and McGill Eagle Claw Trailmaster M4TMU 7 1/2' Spin/ Fly Combination Fishing Rod! The rod itself is in pristine original condition. Not refurbished. I have owned it for many years, and never mounted a reel to it. It looks as though it was never used before I owned it, but I cannot verify that. The original yellow cloth sleeve is in excellent condition as well, showing no stains or wear. The original tube has light scuffs here and there, but no major defects and is in very good condition. It even still has the original price sticker on the tube. And the informational sticker on the cap! You'll probably not see a nicer example of one of these anywhere, thanks for looking and happy bidding!

Compact Wright McGill Eagle Claw Trailmaster 7 ft Spin / Fly Fishing Rod USA
For sale at a buy it now fixed price is this compact vintage rod from Eagle Claw It is the 7 piece 7 foot combination Trailmaster fly fishing/spin fishing rod made by Wright McGill Eagle Claw in the USA. The rod is converted by reversing the handle and is shown in the spin fishing configuration. This started life as a 5 way combo rod that included a casting handle to make a shorter casting rod. However. We got it this way, as a conventional fly/spin fishing combo. The advantage of this is that you get it all in an Eagle Claw aluminum tube that is less than 15 inches long. Great for the saddle bag or your luggage. It just doesn't have the option to use this as a casting rod. As a fly rod it is balanced for 7 weight line but throws either 6 weight or 8 weight lines pretty comfortably. It is rated for 10 pound mono but I have comfortably ... morefished 12 pound line for Northerns on identical rods with no difficulty. This is a group of two Eagle Claw Wright& McGill Trailmaster fishing rods. The first is a 7 1/2 foot M4TMU for line size 7. In very nice shape. Has the cover and case. The metal case has a few dings, but the rod has no problems. The other is a 4TMU, 7 1/2 foot for line size 7. All the pieces are there and fits perfect, but the cover is torn at the bottom, and the varnish seems to be flaking. You get both for $91.00, and free P&H to the US.

Up for sale is a Wright& McGill 4pc. Trailmaster No. M4TMU-7 1/2 Eagle Claw Fly Spin Pack Rod. This Trailmaster pack rod is in mint condition that looks to have never been used. It is a 4 piece 7' 6" spin fly rod with mini-ferrules. The rod is marked for 7 weight fly line and would handle 4-10 pound mono. The original paperwork is with it but the yellow life time guarantee card is fragile condition. The cloth bag and aluminum tube are in new condition.
