Up for bid I have a vintage and rare Shakespeare Wonder rod Hawold process model A-709 7'0" The rod label has seen better days but the rod it self is in great shape for it's age. All line guides intacked. Reel seat and cork is a little dirty but still in good cond. Would make a great stocking stuffer if you had a big enough stocking.Having to downsize my collection for various reason this yr. I will be posting more in the coming weeks Check out my! Here is an older Shakespeare Wonder Rod model BWC145 made in the USA. It shows some use but still has a lot of use left in it. It will hold 12- 20 lb test line 1/2- 1 oz lures. It is in good condition and shows some wear due to age but still solid and has all the eyes in tact! The Handle is the original wood with a metal space screwed at the end. The reel area is brown metal- some paint has worn off. It has a vintage Great Lakes reel- obviously not original to the rod. The reel may or may not be used- it has no string and one of the wooden handles is missing. It winds and spins ok but not sure whether it can be used or not. This is an extremely hard to find Shakespeare Wonderod designed for the vintage underspin reels. It is 2 piece and measures 7 foot long. It seems to be a light action rod. The model is not listed. It is in exceptionally good condition otherwise. The 5 eyes are tightly wrapped and the cork handles and reel seat are excellent. It appears to have spent most of its life safely stored away. Vintage Shakespeare Wonder Rod 5' 6" Two Piece Spinning Rod - Very Good
This is a vintage Shakespeare Wonderod. It is a 5' 6" two piece spinning rod and is in very good shape. All guides and wrappings are in great shape. The cork handle is in good shape with only a little age discoloration which would be easy to clean. The reel mount is also in good shape. The rod label has typical scuff marks(See Photo) It comes with the original storage cloth and Shakespeare transport case. The rod label is the double banner style with only the U.S. patent. I believe that means this rod was made between 1954-1956. This rod is in very good condition for being almost 60 years old. Please see the photos and judge the condition for yourself. The Base is approximatey 21 3/4" Long, the 3 pieces are approximately 21 1/2" 22" and 22" which all fit together good. The Green Rings on the base ends are very slightly loose but they don't look used, maybe the fiber rod"shrunk a little" over time. Two Vintage Fishing Johnson No. 60 Shakespeare Wonder Cast No. 1773 Rod Lot WOW!
Two vintage fishing rod and reel combinations: The first of these two vintage rod and reel combos is a rare Johnson Model No. 60 closed face side fee reel on a butterscotch color fiberglass 5.5 foot rod. The handle is a classic pistol grip with vintage cork and bakelite fore grip. The second is a classic Wonder Cast Model No. 1773 on a butterscotch fiberglass 5.5 foot rod. This rod has a unique reel hold design that allows easy finger tightening and removal. These are both smooth and ready to fish once you add new line. Hope you enjoy fishing as much as my Grandpa did. Take a kid fishing!
