Manufactured most likely in early ... more1960s. When the 1451 model was a mainstay in the Shakespeare fly fishing rod lineup. Cork handle is in excellent shape. All connecting joints(2) in excellent condition and work perfectly. Tip top and all of the line guides and material used to keep them in place are excellent. There is no reason to think the pole wouldn't fish as well now as it was able to when it was brand new. Shalespeare's composite poles from this era were mostly like this- straight fiber rods with spiral markings. They were less flexible than today's composite poles and not as light. They still work good if they are set up with the right rigging and reel. Shipping: $13.95 for parcel post tube with poles wrapped carefully and protected thoroughly. Plus insured by seller. 2 vintage Shakespeare spinning rods both 2pc. Over all good used shape but show normal use. Larger rod is 2 equal pieces. Both 45 1/2" making this a 7 1/2 ft rod. Good tight clean guides. Top section of handle shows a small chip on the bottom side and a little cork chipped from top edge. The smaller rod is 2 equal pieces 39 1/2" each making this a 6 1/2 ft rod. The wraps on this are faded and the guides will some corrosion color on the eyes. I have not tryed to clean these. Labels are as you see from use. These are tough old rods and great to add to any collection. I will ship in a ridgid tube. Selling as found from local estate. All sales are final.

SHAKESPEARE ITCO FLY ROD 3-PIECE MODEL- FY 12-R 8'0" 7/8 LINE. FIBER GLASS. I bought this years ago to try my hand at fly-fishing. Not a good experience. Rod is in very clean condition. Only flaw is in picture 9. This is 5" up from handle. THIS ROD HAS THE METAL REEL SEAT. HAS 2 NUTS TO TIGHTEN AND LOCK REEL IN THE SEAT. THE EYES ARE IN GREAT CONDITION! Any questions. Please ask.
