Vintage Kwik Taper 7’9” Shakespeare WONDEROD Spinning Fishing Rod
You're bidding on a Vintage Shakespeare WONDEROD Kwik Taper Spinning Fishing Rod No. SS-530-8’0” It comes in two pieces with a nice ferrule connection and 5 nice line guides and wraps. It does have a mark or so on the finish. But no more than you would normally expect to see on a rod of this vintage. The label on the rod is nice: you can read all the lettering. It is suppose to be 8 feet long according to the label on the butt, but only measures 7 feet and a little over 9 inches long. The butt section is shorter than the tip section, so you might think if one of the sections had been shortened it would have been the butt section, however, if the butt section was the same length as the tip section, the rod would be 8’6” long, so this must not be the case. It the tip section has been shortened, it has been shortened about 2 and 1/2 inches, ... morealthough I really can’t tell it. The end of the cork looks like it is missing the end cap, but the cork is in great shape(cosmetic) I would describe the action as medium. Please see pics as they are part of the description. You're bidding on a Garcia Conolon Light Action Fast Taper Two Star Spinning Fishing Rod. It has been shortened. It should be 7 feet long but is only 6’ and 8” long. So. I would say the action is more of a medium action than light action. It does show some marks to the finish and some staining on the cork, but nothing too major. Mechanics are nice and the guides may have a little light speckling of rust, but not much if any. The bottom guide on the tip section must have come off at one time, because it has been re-wrapped with a lighter color blue thread as opposed to the darker blue thread of the other guides. Can’t make out the lure size but it is designed for 4-8 lb. line originally, but since it is short, I would say 6-12 lb. line. The model number is 2610-D. It is a two piece rod that fits together nicely with the metal ferrule connection. It is suppose to have 8 guides total, but all but two are broken or bent, so it does need new guides. Other than the guide problem, everything else seems to be o.k. other than a few marks and some stain on the cork handle. Vintage Garcia Conolon 2571C Medium Action Fast Taper Fishing Rod-9 Ft. & Cloth
This is a Vintage Garcia Conolon Spinning Fishing Rod. It is a very large two piece rod that when assembled measures 9 feet long. It comes with the original cloth case in very nice condition as shown with only a few small stains and no tears except one tiny tear on one seam(shown in last picture) The rod has one mechanical flaw that keeps it from fishing in its current condition; the large guide on the butt section is missing the ring. So this guide will need to be replaced. The label reads: garcia CONOLON 2571C 9’ MEDIUM ACTION FAST TAPER 1-4 OZ. LURES 8-30 LB. LINE. Also, there is another label that says TIP-TOP CARBIDE with some lettering above this, but I can’t make it out. It has a nice appearance for the vintage showing some minor marks, scratches, etc. definitely nothing of any concern. Besides the guide on the butt section that is ... moremissing the ring, the first guide down from the tip section has been bent a little, but still well intact and poses no mechanical problem. The second guide down from the tip guide is also bent a little and the bottom arm of the metal guide has slipped out from underneath the wraps, so this should be re-wrapped at the bottom. The male ferrule is grooved near the tip for an insertion of an o-ring, but the o-ring is not there, but is not necessary really as the ferrule connection is nice and snug and smooth. Once the butt guide is replaced, the rod will have 8 line guides and wraps. Ferrule and reel seat area are nice and cork only shows some minor stain due to use in the hand. Cork and reel seat area is a whooping 26 and 3/4 inches long. You can see the trademark letter“g” inscribed into the end cap on the bottom of the handle. This is a tough rod that would be great from the jetty, surf, boat or pier; the only requirement is that you need big fish. This rod is as described. Vintage Garcia Conolon Five Star Light Act. Fast Taper Spinning Fishing Rod Cork
Here is a Vintage Garcia Conolon Five Star Spinning Fishing Rod. It is a two piece rod that when assembled measures 7 feet and 1/4 inches long. It has a nice appearance showing some typical marks/scuffs for the vintage. But definitely nothing too major. The worst part of appearance is in the label area where some of the label is missing and I can’t quite read everything. I can tell it says garcia CONOLON FIVE STAR Light Action Fast Taper MADE IN USA. I can’t make out the entire model number or lure or line size, but looks like the highest lure size is 1/2 oz. and the highest line size is 8 lb. but can’t be positive. It is equipped with 6 nice line guides and wraps. The cork handle and metal reel seat are nice. It is missing the end cap(plug) at the end of the handle. Functionally, I would say the rod is in great working order with one qualification ... morethat is a bit puzzling. The metal male ferrule only inserts about 1 1/4 inches into the female ferrule(it stops about 1/4 inch short- see picture) The ferrule should insert all the way to make the connection tight, so as is, I would say you would not want to fish with this rod until this issue can be fixed. Heddon Vintage Global 9:3 Fast Taper Fishing Rod Measures 6-1/2 Feet
Up for auction is a vintage Heddon Global Fast Taper casting fishing rod. It is a 2 piece rod that measures 6-1/2 feet long. It is marked on the paper label Heddon Global Fast Taper. The rod is isall marked 9:3 and 6-1/2' Where the reel mounts on the handle it is marked Heddon with the fish logo. The cork on the handle is in very nice condition and the rod has all of the eyelets. Where the two pieces connect together both metal pieces are on one section, stuck together on the upper section so the rod will need some attention with that. I'm sure you can probably get the metal piece that belongs on the lower section off, but I didn't want to break it trying to get it off. Other than that, the pole is in nice condition. Vintage Garcia 2218-D Four Star 6.5' Medium Action Fast Taper Fishing Rod
This rod has some light wear. Very sturdy. Much of the labeling is worn& is only partially readable. Most of the tieing looks nice, but some of the more raised parts are a little worn. See pics. Due to the size of these rod's packaging, I have to drop these off at the post office the following Saturday after payment is received. Here is a two piece Vintage Garcia Conolon 2 Star 2610 D Spinning Fishing Rod. Label says 7’ FAST TAPER LIGHT ACTION 1/4-1/2 oz. lures and 4-8 lb. line. The length of the rod is 7 feet long when assembled. The rod shows some stains and a few marks which. Of course, are only cosmetic. The rod is missing the guide below the tip guide, so currently there are 4 guides on the rod. Wraps are nice(a little fraying on the female ferrule wrap) with some dulling of the gloss finish a little. It has a nice connecting ferrule, a very nice metal reel seat and cork handle(cork handle is stained some as shown) The end cap also has the letter“g” engraved in the center, typically found on garcia CONOLON rods.
