CORK AND METAL FISHING ROD IN CASE I don't fish but I fell in love with this thing the moment I saw it. I love the simplicity of it and the workmanship. Its been in this case for 75 years. Which makes it an antique this year. I doubt it has been out more than a few times. Its condition is simply incredible. Cork handles, metal reel brace(non-magnetic) painted brass? and a fiberglass body. Beautiful. The metal at the connector does have a touch of surface oxydation. In two pieces. Together it measaures 79" That's 6' 7" I don't want to force the rod together too tightly. I don't think it was ever together, so its tight. I don't think the case is original. Made by Rod Caddy. Its a model 104. Cardboard with ... morea steel clamp. Plastic handle and edges(and that's why its not 30's. Plastic. My best guess puts the case into the 50's. In fact I can guarantee it. Mid 50's. It could use a little expert assistance to make it a winner again. The threading that holds the bottom of the first eye has unwound and needs to be redone and the cork handle needs some attention. The reel grip is aluminum and has a residue that looks like it might have had a more decorative wrap at some point. Leather or something perhaps. 2 Vintage Fishing Rods 1 Metal True Temper 1 Fiberglass Betts Rod Cork Handles
These are 2 vintage fishing rods made by True Temper and Betts. The True Temper rod is made of metal and is 49 1/2 inches tip to butt. The Betts rod is 46 1/2 inches tip to butt. I think the Betts rod may be an ice fishing rod however I am from GA and have never ice fished. It could be a child's rod. The Betts rod does have some loose thread at the bottom of the first eye. The thread is still there just needs to be rewrapped and glue. Both cork handles are in fair to good condition. US shipping only. 7% sales tax added to GA residents. Here is a two piece(equal lengths) 7& 1/2 Ft. Vintage HARNELL Spinning Fishing Rod. Label says HARNELL inside the outline of a fish(a little of the label is missing. But you can still read HARNELL just fine(see pics) This rod is in really nice condition for appearance and mechanics. The rod has six nice guides and wraps, a cork handle and metal rings for the reel clamps. The only thing to mention is that the side supports for the ring on the first guide down from the tip have been bent slightly, but the guide is tight and in very good shape and really hardly noticeable.
