Vintage 1960's Garcia Conolon Model 2040 Rare Garcia Conolon Rod
You are bidding or a very rare 1960's Garcia Conolon Model 2040 USA 8 foot dry fly action 4piece pack rod/ travel rod in excellent condition. The rod does not have any paint or stars on it for grading its level. I believe that would makes it a pre 1965 Deluxe Garcia Conolon rod from the information I found on it. Printed on the lower decal is 2040 8' Dry Fly Action. Use: D-HDH-GBF which I believe means the rod was meant to be use with AFTMA line weight from of 6- 8 that’s my best guess. According to the blogs Garcia Conolon 2040 Deluxe Series was their first pack rod. I shot extra pictures in higher resolution to show the rod’s condition. It does not shows any signs of ever being fished with or used from what I can tell. The gold O- ring ferrel’s show no signs of being pressed together ore does the reel seat show signs of a reel ever ... morebeing placed on it. The Decals are as if the came straight from the factory as is the coating on its wrapped ferrel ends. The guides/ snake have never been bent or repaired nor has their wrapping threads show signs of use. There are some very tinny scratches on its glass& metal surfaces. Take the time to examine the pictures below to see what I have described. Garcia Conolon 5 Star Ultra-Light Action fiberglass spinning rod.It is 5 feet in length. Handles 1/16th-1/4 ounce lures and 2-6 lb. test line. The model number is 2121-A,it is made in the USA and has the number 14505 printed on it also. It is in excellent condition(with a minor cork rip on the bottom end of the cork handle. This rod was purchased in the early 1970s and it was Garcia's top of the line model. You would be hard pressed to find another one in this condition.This would be a great addition to a collection or throw a Mitchell 308 or 408 spinning reel on it and head for the water. Nice vintage Garcia Conolon S638 Model Fly Fishing Rod with some minor scrapes/stains-nothing major. Can’t quite make out all the label but looks to read 8 1/2 foot Dry Fly Action. Label also says CONOGUARD SEALED PROTECTION. The rod comes in two equal length pieces and when assembled measures 8 and 1/2 foot long. The ferrules fit together very nicely and all wraps are tight on 7 guides counting the tip. See pictures as they will serve as part of the description. Should fish well or add to your collection. You are bidding on a VINTAGE GARCIA CONOLON MODEL 2554 T. 10’ FAST TAPER MEDIUM ACTION SURF FISHING ROD. This rod is designed for 15 TO 30 pound line and 2 to 5 ounce lures. It is a two piece rod that fits together nicely with the metal ferrule connection. It is suppose to have 8 guides total, but all but two are broken or bent, so it does need new guides. Other than the guide problem, everything else seems to be o.k. other than a few marks and some stain on the cork handle. This is a rare. Excellent condition, American-made, 1960s vintage, Garcia Conolon Five Star, 5-foot ultra-light spinning rod. It is designed for 1/16 to 1/4 ounce lures fished on 1-pound to 6-pound test line. Conolon, founded as NARMCO in the mid-1940s, was the earliest developer of hollow-core fiberglass rods. In 1960 NARMCO was purchased by Garcia, the largest fishing tackle company of its era; this Model 2121-A rod is one of the highest-end examples of the combined efforts and technologies of the two companies. This rod is of collectible quality. But it also casts great, has a very lively feel, and frankly makes us wonder why we ever gave up fiberglass for graphite in the first place. The reel seat has some light paint rubs but has no sign of having had a reel mounted. The moving parts of the reel seat are in good working order. The eyes are shiny and all wraps are intact. Vintage Garcia Conolon Freshwater Spinning Fishing Rod - Unknown Model
ou are bidding on a Vintage Garcia Conolon Freshwater Spinning Fishing Rod. This is a two piece rod(equal lengths) that measures 5 feet and 11 inches long when assembled. I cannot read the writing on the label. Thus I cannot determine the model number. On the end of the handle you can see the“g” insignia, which is the symbol for the Garcia made Conolon rods. The rod has a decent appearance with some scrapes and nicks on the finish, typical of a used rod of this vintage. There is nothing mechanically wrong with the rod: it has 5 nice line guides and wraps(the second guide down from the tip shows a little fraying on the wraps, but nothing major) a nice connecting ferrule and a nice handle and reel seat(the foam on the handle shows some light scrapes and scratches as well) The rod has a slight downward bend at the tip end, but only slight and ... moreprobably due to being stored in the upright position against a wall. Up for auction is a vintage Garcia Conolon Four Star ultralight action spinning rod. It is a two piece rod. Model 2500-A. The rod is in very good condition overall. The graphics are pretty good, but there is a little loss as shown in the photos, The guides and tip are in very good condign and the wraps are tight. Auction is for a Vintage Garcia Conolon 4-Star Model 2132-D 2-piece Spinning Fishing Rod. Rod is in excellent condition- it may have never been used or had a reel on it. Rod was stored in a basement so- there is some very minor corrosion to the tip. That can be seen in the pictures. The rest of the rod looks great as can be seen- no issues with this one at all. Lee Wulff Garcia Conolon 7' Model 2071 Fiberglass Fly Rod
For your consideration is a Lee Wulff Garcia Conolon Model 2071 7' 2 piece fiberglass. Fly rod weighing 3.2 oz and rated for AFTMA line weights 6/7. The rod casts best with. The new fly lines rated 5 or 6 weight. I personally like it with a DT6. You may prefer it. With a 5 weight. The rod was first offered by Garcia Conolon in 1973. A five star blank. And build with fly-fishing legend Lee Wulff's design input. The rod is in excellent condition. With only slight soiling(no ridging) to the cork handle. Would clean up nicely if you should. Wish to do that. Personally, I would leave it as is. No original tube or sock included but I will. Provide a brand new satin anodized aluminum tube and rod sock from Landmark Components.
