Heddon Pal Spook casting rod fiberglass vintage w/ leather case 5 ft Deluxe T270
Here is a great vintage Heddon Spook Pal fiberglass pole. It is fiberglass but made to look like bamboo. The handle has intricate details in the wood and comes with the original fitted leather case and original paperwork. has the front tip and back eye attached but the two middle eyes are off. I do have them but I did not try to re-attach them. Very collectible casting rod that would compliment any antique Heddon casting reel very nicely.

Starting with the handle/base section. The handle is in good condition but does have finish loss on the aluminum section as pictured the cork and wood are in great shape as well as the reel clamp down screw assembly. The second or tip section is 4" short and the rod measures 6'2" assembled instead of 6'6" The action of the rod to my hand still feels good with nice flex. It seems that the first line guide has been rewrapped with a non original line guide. You are bidding on a beautiful vintage Heddon Pal#7305 Mark 1 Fiberglass Spinning Rod. This is a 2 piece rod that measures 7’ in length and is rated as Fast Tip Action. I can’t say that this is an original rod as I have just had it professionally restored with new line guides and wrappings. A new cork fore grip and the handle and reel seat cleaned. The rod has 6 line guides and metal reel seats. The ferrule is still very tight. The butt has a slight nick in it and what looks like the Heddon Emblem imprinted on it. Vintage Heddon 8457 Pal Mark IV Fiberglass Fly Rod 8'6" 8wt Controlled Flex Acti
I just inventoried my fiberglass rod collection and discovered I have 4 8457s. It is one of my favorite fiberglass rods from the 1960's. I have owned this Mark IV Fly Rod#8457 8'6" 8wt rod for for a couple of years. And it has been displayed in my heated office/fishing gear workshop the whole time. The rod is all original, the aluminum reel seat shows some use and the rubber butt is in great condition. The walnut and faux ivory inlay and cork grip are also in excellent condition. All guides, hook keeper,and ferrules are intact, as are the windings from tip to bottom of rod. The ferrels join together and come apart nicely, and the rubber o-ring is like new. This is clearly a mid-1960's vintage rod that has been carefully fished and cared for. No rod sock or period correct Heddon tube are available for this rod, and as I recall, ... morethe first one of these I bought in Wisconsin when I was a kid did not have either. Honestly, I am only selling this because I found an 8wt version which is the exact rod I owned as a teenager in the 1960's and learned to cast on in Wisconsin. I'd rather have someone else enjoy this one, as I have over the years. Here is some nice detailed information on the Heddon flyrods from the 1960's. Some of which was borrowed from a similar listing 8wt listed that sold for over $100 earlier in the year. In the early 1960's this rod was listed at $40.00 in the Heddon catalogs of that era. The Heddon Pal Mark Series fiberglass rods were introduced in 1962 and the Mark IV's were sold new in sporting goods stores during the 1960's and'70s. And also fifty(50) years old this year and are still in great demand by collectors all over the world. They were offered in Mark I, Mark II, Mark III and the Mark IV models. All of these rods were made in Casting, Spinning and Fly Rod configurations. Vintage 1950's Heddon Pal #130 Standard Fiberglass Spinning/Fly Rod - 7' 2pc
I've been going thru my collection of fiberglass spinning rods and flyrods. And this excellent example of the 1950's Heddon spinning rods is ready to move on. The rod is 7' and by today's standards, is light to medium action. The cork and red butt cap are in excellent condition, as are the two rings that can be adjusted and secure the reel. The windings are in excellent condition as well, as are the guides, hook keeper, and winding check. All appear to be original. I have a similar Heddon Pal Standard 8' flyrod, where the wraps are dull, but this one shines. The ferrels fit together nicely. The only issue is the Heddon label is partially intact, as you can see in the pictures. This in no way effects the performance of this classic rod. For those of you that like the spinning/fly combos, this would likely work for that ... moreas well, as the rings are movable and a fly reel could be easily mounted. I believe that this rod original sold for around $25-30 in the 1950s. And except for the label, is in nearly new condition. It would be a great addition to a collection, or better yet, to chase some bass and bluegills on the lake or river. 2 VINTAGE ANTIQUE HEDDON PAL FISHING RODS FIBERGLASS ONE PIECE 6'
A pair of vintage or antique HEDDON PAL fiberglass one piece fishing rods measuring about 6' each. Both are in need of guide replacement and or rewrapping as shown in the pictures. The handles are in very good condition except the"black" rod has a broken butt piece. Cork on both is in real good shape. The reel hold down assemblies are intact. I mail these out in a heavy duty cardboard tube that does add to the weight.

This Is A vintage HEDDON PAL FIBERGLASS#8327 MARK 1 CUSTOM 8 1/2 CONTROLLED FLEX ACTION 8WT.
