Vintage H-I Horrocks-Ibbotson, Vernley, 9' bamboo fly rod, 4 pc, tube
Up for auction is this HORROCKS-IBBOTSON VERNLEY. Split bamboo fly rod with cloth bag and aluminum tube. The rod is a 9 ft, 4 pc(2 tips) and has a bakelite reel seat. The middle(2nd) section is missing one guide(see photo#4) Also, one of the tip sections is missing a guide and another is partially off. The other tip section and reel seat/1st section are completly intact and in VG condition. The graphics are clean and the finish nice. The metal tube has been dented but still usable. I have done my best to describe this rod but if you have any questions please ask; I will do my best to answer them. I will ship this item within the USA only.

Wright McGill Granger Special GS8642 8 1/2 ft 4.5 oz 3 pc 2 tips Bamboo Fly Rod
NO RESERVE AUCTION You are bidding on a fantastic PRESERVED Wright McGill Granger Special bamboo fly rod GS8642. 8 1/2ft, 4.5 oz. 3/2. 3 pieces with 2 tips. This rod has been what I call preserved, with the nice aged look of the original silks under the original varnish. All varnish was carefully scraped off the bamboo, however, retained over all the original silks to give the look of an original aged rod, while getting 2 fresh dips in varnish to ensure it is water tight. One snake guide at the bottom of the mid was replaced and rewrapped with new silk, however, tastefully matched against the original silk look. There is one scratch on the reel seat and one tip is down 2.5 inches(pictured) Includes original cloth sack in perfect condition, and the original aluminum tube in very very good condition, with a decent label, you don't see many ... moretubes in this good of shape. The rod casts a 6 weight DT modern fly line beautifully. All sections are equal length(except the one tip) straight as an arrow, reel seat functions well, ferrules are great and pop with no clicking during casting. If you want a Granger to fish this is it. All the wraps look great and are an original aged wrap. The cork looks good, though suffers from some soiling and use over time, it could be cleaned if that is the look you want, varnish looks great. Completely restored and preserved. This is one heck of a great looking rod and it is ready to fish as is. This rod. For those that don't know is positioned as an upper mid-grade rod and used bamboo that was not quite good enough for the Registered and Deluxe but better than the Special, and way better than the Victory or Champion. The 9" length in my opinion is great for the fisherman out there, rather than the collectors. Let the collectors keep paying way to much for the shorter rods that don't have the length to high stick or mend the way a fisherman needs to catch fish. The shorter rods, may cast a little better, but I would be willing to bet these longer rods catch more fish, since

Up for sale is a really nice Belmont#166 split bamboo fly rod.Has the 2 different tips. Separate aluminum tube for both end tips, Royal stream heavy duty plastic adjustable rod case.And the rod will be shipped in this case.Rod itself has very nice clean handle, all metal reel area and screw, and looks to be pretty light action.Some of the thread lines have been worn off, and it looks like the main red eyelet has been repaired or has different thread.All eyelets secure though, and male and female end seem to fit pretty good and are secure as well.Both rod tips are in very good shape with most cosmetic and thread issues on middle and handle section.No other noticeable repairs or large flaws.Some other minor discolorations and such.Nice lot of goodies.4 piece rod, and 2 different hard cases.OVerall good shape I would say, and is good to go hit ... morethe water with as far as I am concerned.Any questions please ask.Thanks for looking, and check out my other fishing or vintage lures I have listed.

Early Kingfisher 4-PC fly rod with screw top bamboo holder for 2 rod tips. Rod is round not split bamboo but some kind of wood like lancewood greenheart etc. when 3-PC rod is put together measures 9ft. All 4 pieces are same length and all guides. Tips and ferrules are intact. The only issue with this rod is thread, all guides and ferrule threads are intact and tight it is the colored decorative threads that have issues, some are missing and some are coming apart. Otherwise the overall condition of this rod is very good. Very nice collectible piece.

I tried to match the rods up by the color of the wrapping on the guides. One of the handle is marked with the Montague decal on both sides. Although it is chipped and a remains of a word that ends in m or n up the rod from the decal on one side. The other rods handle is unmarked. On one of the pieces there is a guide missing and there is one that has been repaired with black tape. There is light corrosion of ... moresome of the shiny metal. Sock has holes and is stained. This auction is for a very nice Phillipson Pacemaker bamboo fly rod. It looks like this rod was never used. The rod is in excellent perfect condition. There are 4 pcs. 2 are tips. All are perfectly straight, eyes are tight, finish is flawless. The only blemish I see is to the bottom of the rod butt were it has minor scratches to it from rubbing on the inside of the aluminum rod tube. The rod is marked Phillipson Pacemaker and the number 78. Included is the rod tube and sock. The end cap of the rod tube is not original. It's marked Heddon. The only real condition issues I can see is a very small dent in the bottom which is in picture number two and a couple of holes in the bamboo handle that you can see in the pictures. The butt section measures approximately 38" The mid section measures approximately 38" One tip measures approximately 44 1/2" and the other measures approximately 31 1/2" For accuracy there are 5 guides and the tips are missing there eyelets and may be broken.
