9.5 ft Montague Manitou Fly Fishing Rod 3-piece This is a rare Montague Manitou 3 piece fly fishing rod with spare end section. The reel seat style is rare. The finish on the has no scratches or dents. Made out of bamboo. The handle is a little worn. The length of each piece is about 39" The ferrules(metal connector between the sections) are in excellent condition and original. Based on a style by John Landman. This was probably made prior to the 1930's. I couldnt get a clear picture of the montague manitou lable but it is not worn off and clearly visible. For sale is a vintage antique 4-piece fly fishing rod or pole by Montague. The tag on the rod says Montague Rapidan. This rod was made in the 1930's or possibly earlier. This rod is usually a 3 piece rod but this one has an extra section. Each section measures between 37" and 39" The rod looks to be in good vintage condition. This is an all original Montague Split Bamboo Fly Rod. It is a"Trail" Style. It comes in 3 sections. And includes an extra tip section. Its overall length is 10 feet 6 inches when assembled. To my knowledge is has never been used. This is an extremely rare rod due to the condition and the size. I am unsure the exact weight of the rod, but any fly fisher would love to own this beautiful rod. It is in unbelievable shape, except for the cork has shown its age. This rod would do great either in the hand of fisherman on his favorite pool or over top a collectors mantle. It comes with its original tube and partitioned cloth bag. Very Rare and a must have!

Late Teens To 1920s Antique Shakespeare Montague Split Bamboo 3' Casting Rod
Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE This an extremely rare Shakespeare- Chubb- Montague Split Bamboo Casting Rod. The rod is 35 1/2" one piece and is in original not refinished condition. The rod was made around the 1920s(possible earlier) indicated by the Shakespeare logo which says"Honor Built Honor Sold" Much of the logo is worn off. But can still be read) and the reel seat design. I contacted antique fishing rod expert Rich Mac McGaughey with pictures of the rod and he opined it was from the 1930s or older- thought handle looked like a Chubb handle(Chubb was bought out by Montague around 1920 and made many of the Shakespeare rods during this time. It also has Made In U.S.A. etched on the reel seat and the number 10 etched farther down on the tin/steel platted bronze handle. I have recently heard from another expert ... morewho says that Chubb was actually bought by Montague in 1891. He thought the rod was still made by Montague but thought the age was probably from the early 20s or late teens based on the reel grip design. The rod is in very good condition considering it is nearly 75 years old and has a few blemishes in the finish(see photos) but these are very minor. Cork handle has been chewed up a bit. Antique Montague Or Union Hdw 1910-20 Split Bamboo Fly Fishing Rod trout Rod 9'
Beautiful brass or copper crafted handle split bamboo fly fishing rod with steel threaded case. Used condition. This piece has a heavy lacquer finish with unions. Handle caps and components made of copper or brass pieces. Upon assembly the rod seems to go together tightly, I have indicated that one of the rod unions has a little play that may require repair in the future. Although I am not an expert this piece appears to be completely in tact with minimal wear except for a few scratches and dings. Through my research on this rod I was in formed by an expert that this rod was most likely made by the Montague company circa 1910(his opinion) or possibly a union hardware 1920 rod. Most likely a mid grade rod in which the case is not original. Being sold in estate quality condition un cleaned. Repaired or refurbished with wear from age and use. ... moreThe handle and reel clamp has not been tested and may require repair. The case has some wear along with a manufacturers tag that indicates SUN VALLEY(a notorious fishing destination in Idaho I believe) as well as the previous owners tag. Measures 9 ft long. The cork has a few marks and wear spots from use.

1910s ANTIQUE/VINTAGE VERY RARE MONTAGUE FLY ROD.
Up for consideration is a very old 1910-1920 Montague bambo fly rod. The reel seat and ferrules and rod tip are all brass nickle. All in great condition. This 3 piece rod measures 9' 5 1/2" Thinking that maybe at one time the tip might of been repaired. Its hard to tell. The second eye has been replaced, done poorly. The rest of the eyes are in very good condition. The cork handle shows a few blemishes and rubbing of the finish. Overall in good condition. The rod itself shows a few scratches and rubs on them. I have done my best to describ this rod. I research this rod and am confident that is a 1910s montague fly rod. If not satisfied I will refund. Please check pictures out for condition.
