Superior TV 11 Tube Tester WORKS GREAT with Manual& Tube Data Tests Many Types! Superior TV-11 Tube Tester with the Original Manual and Tube Data The tester has been tested thoroughly and we have tested many tubes on it. It does have a calibration potentiometer for the mains voltage and it has been calibrated. And some old resistors and capacitors replaced to ensure to be trouble free for years to come and can test almost every tube type. A 5R4 is being tested in the pictures for quality and filament continuity on both sections. The tester also has a noise test that uses a regular headphone jack(1/4 inch) and it works as well. Information is widely available and here is a link to the manual that is already included with the tester. That any tube is tested in the diode mode. It is a way to go, and I have found some that are working amazingly well, like for instance the Superior Instruments TV10 or TV11. They look so old fashioned, you would not give much for it. However they have all modern sockets, even a subminiature socket. They have a quite complete roll chart, plus a calibration potentiometer for the mains voltage. The rectifier for the meter is a tube with the TV10, and solid state for the TV11. It means you have to pay some attention to the TV10's and TV11 rectifier circuit, which measures the mains voltage. Here is a Beautiful Vintage 1957 Hickok TV-2A/U TV-2 TV2 Dynamic Mutual Conductance Tube Tester by"Federal Television Corp" Serial# 415. This is the grand-daddy of all Military Electron Tube Test Sets. Very complex and very large with 6 meters. There is very little this amazing piece cannot do. It is in excellent cosmetic and working condition. Faceplate and lettering are super clean as shown. TV-2A/2 Tube Tester. 1957, Low Hours, Serviced, Working. Cabinet has some wear- faceplate and tube testing operation is fine. This example was manufactured by Federal Television in Philadelphia. Faceplate has date stamp May 6. 1957. The TV-2 is the highest quality US military tester. Faceplate is in fine condition with no wear. I cannot find any indication anywhere on the faceplate this example was used for many hours. Definately a low hours example. As shown in the photos, the chassis was removed from case and circuit quality and voltages measure fine. When shorted tubes are measured in the TV-2, resistors to the selector switches take a beating and will break down and fail. Not a problem with this TV-2. Hospital grade plug installed at end of AC cord. No problems with the chart, Chart is installed correctly- no binding, no chart sag. USN Military HICKOK TV-3B/U Tube Tester. In very good cosmetic condition. This acquired from the estate of a radio repairman. Conditions were not the best for some of these pieces. This one seemed to fare well as far as oxidation goes. though there was a bit of sandy dust I've cleaned from the interior. Changed the 100uf& 1 caps after noticing meter would not deflect under slow power up. Can not get meter to work even after changing rectifiers. Suspect meter is shot, but could be something else? NAVSHIPS manual is readily available online free to troubleshoot further. Included is what I believe to be all the extraneous odd tube socket and VOM connectors. These will be pulled from side of unit and shipped inside power cord storage compartment for safety. Roll chart works well with some nudging. The tester in in excellent working condition. It's beautiful, I don't know that a guy could ask for much more. It comes with the original build books, and even the supplementary tube charts. The inside shows very little signs of use, the outside has just a few scuffs. Only other thing worth mentioning, 2 of the rubber stick on feet have come off the case. Hickok TV-7/U Tube Tester in Great Condition - Calibrated all Within SPECS
Hickok TV-7/U Military Tube Tester Working& Very Nice Conditon all Within SPECS Hiclok TV-7/U Military Tube Tester Works very good and installed new JAN 83 and 5y3GT rectifiers. Would normally say it was calibrated. But according to the manual, it was only tested& adjusted. Bias voltages all within specs, 22, 50, 75, and 100. The plate voltage was checked according to the manual, with a 375k resistor parallel from the cathode to the plate, pin 6& 3, and it is right at 150 volts and specs call for 150 volts. The high screen voltage used the same resistor on pins 6& 4 and was at 129 volts and specs call for 130 + or– 3 volts. The low screen voltage was checked and at 56 and specs call for 56 volts. Also, checked the line voltage with a 6L6 in the socket and it is at 6.1 volts. The meter reads on a 0– 120 scale and I am sure there is a way to convert to Gm. But that info was not included in any of the manuals. Instruction manual, and a short pamphlet on finding faulty tubes in your TV along with the main unit. The tester housing is plastic. I'm not sure if it works, but I don't think there's to much that could go wrong with it. The red housing measures approximately; 3 1/2" by 2 3/4" by 1 5/16" thick. The box is in fair condition. It is being sold as is for parts or repair. I powered it up slowly with a variac transformer and no smoke or hot smell was present. So I proceeded to test a known tube with it. When I attempted to test the tube. The tester began to smell hot so I stopped at that point and shut it off. It never started smoking or anything like that and the variac transformer that I used has a low amp fuse in it and it did not blow the fuse. And it did not damage the tube. I tested the tube after words on one of my Hickok testers and it was fine. I also noticed that there is some minor oxidation. Not bad but I wanted to point that out. a GOOD FRIEND'S father was very high up in a military function and had this. It was handed to me for testing old amplifiers. It is in better condition than any I've seen. All functions seem up to speed. I have not been through a full diagnostic but like I said. The unit is pristine. You crack this juggernaut open and catch a whiff of WWII INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING TOTAL IS 144.44 applied at invoice The TV-7 series are built like tanks and seems to me. To be one of the best designed tube testers ever made. They are based on a Hickok design and are great for testing real old tubes prior to WWII. It will test many, but not all, tubes made after WWII. They come in different models like the TV-7/U, TV-7A/U, and the TV-7B/U. The TV-7D/U is a little different than the others with a little bit more range to test tubes. The TV-7D/U is also collected ... moreby the audio tube folks so they command higher prices. An important note here is that the TV-7 does not test most sweep tubes. That will require a tube tester of a later design since the TV-7 pre-dates sweep tubes. It will, however test the more common ham tubes like the 6146, 807, 6L6, and 811A. Its does use a 0-120 quality scale rather than reading true GMhos, which seems to be a major hangup with some people. There are translation tables out there to overcome this.

Very Nice TV-7-U Military Tube Tester New Tube Set Voltages Checked Extras
I am selling a a very nice TV-7-U military tube tester with a copy of the military manual. Supplemental Data, and Voltage Alignment Instructions. I picked this one up from a local HAM operator who has had it for a long time and recently had it gone over by another tech buddy in his HAM club and both tubes were replaced and it checked out AOK. It has not been sent off to have a high price alignment but I have every reason to believe it is working properly. I have tested a number of tubes including 6L6 and many audio tubes and I am getting the readings I would expect comparing them to my Hickok and Triplett testers. The case has a dent or two but the paint is very nice and the inside is clean and all sockets are tight. Has a socket saver in the octal socket. The tube chard book is nice and I am including a copy of the military manual and supplemental ... moredata and voltage alignment data. I do not see any tube socket adaptors that may have been with it but it certainly tests the bulk of the tubes you will test and if you are looking at this listing you know the value of a very nice TV-7-U. Military TV-2C/U Tube Tester TV-2 300B KT88 6L6 EL34 Must See
This is a very nice Military TV-2C/U tube tester made by Elion Instruments Inc. This is the cleanest TV-2C/U I have seen. And I have seen a lot. It is partially restored as noted below. It has not seen much use judging from the excellent condition. The TV-2C/U is the more modern of the TV-2 series and is built like a tank. Switches and controls are tight, snap into place, and are not worn out. It was purchased direct from the Military. Serial number is 91. I tested this set and it is working as seen from the photos. Notice the 6L6G, KT88, and 6L6 reference tube under a test. All meters are working and are not sticking. The bias, plate, screen, filament, etc, can be adjusted. The 6L6 reference was purchased from Daniel Nelson and tested 42 or 5250 uMohs. Notice the 6L6 reference tube tested 87% This is about 5220 uMohs(6000 x.87) This tester ... moreincludes spare fuses, a spare lamp, a spare 83 tube, and a spare 6X4W tube. The roll chart works very well. The TV-2C/U uses 2 transformers. One, for the filaments, and one for the plate, screen, etc. Actually this tester is not hard to use, once you get familiar with all the settings and meters. This will test 4, 5, 6, 7 prong, 7 pin, 9 pin, octal, loctal, acorn, sub min 7, sub min 8, sub min 8 long pin, and transmitting 7 pin tubes. I can email pdf files of the manual and tube settings if desired to the winning bidder. I can also email an excel spreadsheet with over 2400 tube settings. This will test the 300B, KT88 tubes, and thousands more. All filter capacitors have been replaced with new stock. All old carbon resistors were replaced with new and modern resistors. The plate and grid lead wires were replaced. I never drill holes and like to keep the chassis looking original. Tester may need some more checking out, adjusting, etc, due to age. I purchased this straight from the original owner a year or two ago. It is in amazing un-molested condition with the original documentation. I have printed an additional chart for tube test settings. The roller chart is intact and works. This unit is very easy to use once you get the hang of it. You just dial in the settings according to the different columns. The meters all respond and appear to be accurate. I have not performed a calibration as the unit appeared not to need one since I received it. The manual details the process of how to do this if ever necessary. You will notice that the meter reads percent quality instead of Gm. There is an easy to use formula to convert and information regarding this ... moreonline. The condition is overall really great. One of the rubber coverings for the red test lead is coming off. Up for auction is a EICO model 625 emission tube tester with a EICO 610 adapter. This vintage Tube Tester was designed to test practically all vintage radio. Jukebox, guitar amplifier and television receiving tubes and a few transmitting tubes. The main unit is a Model 625. Made by EICO, Electronic Instrument Co. The EICO 625 has many several tube sockets including ones for 4 and 5-pin tubes. The additional EICO Tube Tester Adapter model 610, has a 5 Pin Nuvistor, 7 Pin, Nuvistor, a Novar, a 12 Pin Compactron and a 10 Pin Miniature. The adaptor consists of inter-wired sockets, plus a 9-wire cable terminated in a 9-pin miniature plug that is inserted in the socket on the tube tester. A tenth connection is provided by a capterminal on the adaptor to which is connected a grid cap lead of the tube tester. The normally blank key space on the compactron ... moresocket in the adaptor is drilled to permit a compactron to be inserted in the socket with the key at any desired position, so as to permit all sections of the compactron to be tested without switching. Vintage 1951 Superior Instruments Tube Tester Model-TV-11"UNTESTED" I don't know much about these machines but this seems to be a nice one. I did not plug it in as I didn't want to have any issues with the machine. I will leave the winning bidder to determine its working status. I was told it was in working order when I bought it. Tester appears to be complete, no missing knobs, no breaks in components. The case seems to be made out of solid oak wood. The case has normal wear, scuffs, scratches no breaks in the wood. The carrying handle seems to be made out of bake lite and is in very nice unbroken condition. There is a copy of operating instructions for this tester. OLD VINTAGE TV7-D/U TV-7D/U MILITARY TUBE TESTER CHECKER This auction is for an old used vintage TV-7D/U US military tube tester checker.The serial is 2523.This tester came from the estate of a SK. I tested many different types of tubes on this checker& it worked fine.In one of the pictures. I show it testing one side of a 6SN7 tube. This tester will check 4.5,6,7, 8, 9 pin tubes.It will also check acorn type tubes.This unit will not test 10& 12 pin sweep tubes, way too old for those types. It comes with a paper book type tube chart& also plate cap lead for testing tubes with a top plate cap.There is also an 8 pin with guide pin to 8 pin with no guide pin adapter.Not sure what kind of tubes those are. But it comes with it anyway. The meter looks great with no cracks found.The power cord is in very good shape as well. The case ... moreis metal including the handle.There are paint scrapes& some minor scratches on the case. But overall for its age, it looks to be in really good shape. The tester measures 15 1/4" wide X 8 1/4" deep& 6 1/2" tall.The tester is clean.Depending on how sensitive your nose is. I noticed I can still smell a little bit of that old vintage military scent. I have done my best to describe this unit as accurately as I can.It has been a great tester for me& I really hate to give it up. But economics says I must.I still have my old Hickok as a backup tester. Hopefully. It will provide many more years of great dependable service. This unit it is being sold"TESTED" AS IS" No returns. Offered for sale is a Supreme Inc. TV- 7/U Tube tester The internal components are in good shape but the case has some corrosion damage(See Pictures) The military manual is included as well as several adapters and leads. I have no means of properly testing the unit but when I plug it in and turn it on the pilot light comes on and there is no smell of smoke(Always a good sign) so although I cannot attest to its function the inside does seem to be in good shape. email if you have any questions and I will try to answer to the best of my ability.

I do not have the equipment or knowledge of how to fully test this item but it does turn on when plugged in. I don't think it was used much because the tube sockets were tight. Good bench unit for everyday use. Has a cracked glass and leather handle is missing, some rust spots on case. Comes with copy of operating instruction. Tester also has a built in roll chart for test set-ups.
