Up for auction is a VINTAGE SUPERIOR INSTRUMENT CO. MODEL TV-II TUBE TESTER IN WOOD BOX. This tube tester is in very good condition. There are 2 leads included. I plugged it in and it did power up. My brother tested a new tube and it tested good. All of the dials/switches are present and working as they should. Here is a very nice vintage Accurate Instrument Co of New York NY Tube and Utility Tester Model 161 made back in the 1950s. The Tester is in excellent condition complete with all Cables including the Test Leads. AC Cord, and Tube Socket, Case with Hinged Case with Handle and working Latch, is in super clean condition with just some light wear only on the Case. I tested with Voltage only, and it works great. The Utility Tester because of age is sold as pictured and as is, looks and displays great, and would be a super addition to your collection! Please look at my vintage electronics listings. Acurate Instrument Co. Inc. Model 257 tube tester
This tube tester is in rough condition. But appears to work. I tried a 7 pin and a couple of 9 pin tubes(not included) on it, and got good indications for a couple of them, and a"shorts" indication on the other. There are some handy pin straighteners in the top row, and one of the sockets is for Nuvistor tubes, which are kind of rare. I have listed it in the"for parts or not working" category. Mostly over concerns that some of the switches and sockets might need cleaning. All of the metal is rusty, and the material covering the wood enclosure is coming off. You can see this in the pictures. The manual is coming apart, but looks like it has all of the pages except for the front and back cover. It has a date of 1/68 on the first page. Please look at all of the pictures carefully for the condition. There is nothing included ... morebeyond what you see here. This is from the estate of a local ham radio operator. You are bidding on a Tube tester#151 by Accurate Instrument Co. with instruction manual in very good condition. 1960 model I think. The lid comes off to allow you to better use the instrument. This deal comes with 3 other manuals. RCA receiving tub manual from 1954 in fair to good condition. Also Tube substitution handbook numbers 14 and 17 from 1971 and 1974. These two books are in very good condition. You will also receive about 20 tubes of different sizes. The tester did work on a few of these but I do not know much about testing them so I don't know if they are good. Some did light up however. I do not know if the instrument is working properly or not, it seems like it is. Any questions please feel free to ask.

The only thing wrong with this is the top of the case is damaged, someone has set something on this that has stained this. This is not sticky or gummy, whatever it is is dry. Visually it appears to be in nice/decent original condition showing light to moderate overall wear w/ surface rust on the exterior metal surfaces. I don't have a tube to test to see if the tester works. As to Condition: Please check photos carefully. I do the best that I can on my condition descriptions and use many photos. Accurate Instrument Co. Radio Vacuum Tube Tester Model 157 with Instructions Seems to work okay. I haven't extensively used it. But the bulbs that I did test showed good readings, and the indicator light glows when it should. The outside of the case is worn, and the hardware has some rust. Comes with an Operating Instructions Booklet. The Do-It-Yourself TV Trouble Shooters Guide, and an old advertisement. I noticed a few things circled or marked in the booklets.

It comes with operating instructions dated 1/68 and Cisin's New 1959 TV and Radio Tube Substitution Guide. It is clean and comes from a smoke free home. Case in in good condition. Accurate instrument co of NY NY Model 257 of 1968 Comes with operating instructions Vintage With some scratches. Scrapes, and some rust on carrying case. No seen damage on tube tester itself. Having no knowledge of how to operate or test other than plug it in and turn on the power switch. I plugged it in and turned it on and the red power indicator light came on. Vintage Tube tester Accurate Instrument Co. Mod.157 Works good.
Here is a vintage Accurate Imstrument Co. Mod. 157 tube tester. I have taken photos of it testing several different tubes. I tested a 6Q7. 6C5, 6K7, 12BA6, and a 25L6. The readings came out comparable to a Hickock tester. I intentionally tested some different voltage tubes with different settings and tubes that have grid caps. I did not test all the sockets, so I sell this with no garantee and AS IS. The book included is worn and appears to be missing the front and back covers, but seems to be very readable and complete as far as a tube chart goes. The page shown in the one photo is the in the worst condition. I do not have a manual. I did however, when testing the tubes, simply looked up the tube, made the settings, pluged the tube in, turned the tester on, and as the tube warmed up, the meter gave a reading. There is no test button to push) ... moreYou always want to set the voltage first before plugging a tube in to be tested. I see listed on ebay a couple of different manuals for this instrument. I would probably pick one up if I bought this. I would like to also mention that this instrument was apparantly in a damp place, so the latch and hinges have rust. The outside is a little rough, but complete. Please ask questions if you need more info. A nice little tester if you do not want to spring for the bigger dollar more elaborate testers.
