Here is a neat little box. Used to extend the capabilities of the Eico 625 and 666 tube testers. This allows you to test with more bases- 10 pin mini, Compactrons, both kinds of Nuvistors- handy when you have more modern tubes. I think this may be unused. Very good condition. Anyway. Eico Dynamic Conductance Tube Tester. Model# 666. Works great. Calibrated on 6/17/2013. Comes with instruction, tube test set-up manuals. Tests sockets for: 4, 5, 6,7 pin early type tubes, 8 pin octal and loctal tubes and 7,9 pin miniature tube. All controls, switches and tube sockets have been cleaned. Capacitors were replaced, good power cord and grid cap lead. The case has been repainted. This is a high-end dynamic conductance tube tester. Great for matching for matching audio tubes, and testing amplifier, audio, stereo, hi/fi, radio and tv tubes. It shows a little age, but is in overall very good condition.

All switches, controls, contacts and tube sockets have been cleaned, all components have been checked and defective components have been replaced. Two 1N4148 diodes have been added across the meter for protection, a type 47 lamp has been added to the Grid pot for protection and a new power cord installed for safety. The tester shows wear as to be expected from use and age, scuff and scratches on surfaces and some rust on the external case, internally the tester is clean and ready for use, included is a copy of the instruction manual. The Coletronics 1978 tube chart and the 666-05 supplement which shows settings for the 2-digit tubes can be downloaded for free at. It is not recommended to use the roll chart on the tester. Tests the more recent vintage tubes as well as the older 4 pin tubes(201A,etc. that were in my Atwater Kent model 20 that I restored. Comes with original Eico construction manual as well as 2 or 3 tube data setup manuals. Very rugged and fairly heavy. Also pictured is a rare,sold separately and optional Eico 610 plug in tester for nuvistors. I have not tested it. I will sell to 666 purchaser for $20 prior to separate eBay listing later. Eico 666 Tube Tester. I plugged it in and nothing happened. I have no way to test the unit. The fuse looks to be good. I can't tell if the bulb is good. Or not. Everything is complete except for the rubber ring that protects the power cord. I did retape the paper to the rollers and that works fine, now. The case has rust, scrapes, and scratches. Here's a very nice Eico 666 tube tester. This is one of the nicest looking ones I've ever seen. Even the case is very nice. Inside. It's had the old caps and diodes replaced and it's been calibrated according to eico specs. Manual is included which also has some chart updates and even the building instructions. The Pictures show it testing a marginal 6L6 and then a new 6L6. The third tube being tested is a new RCA 12AX7. NOTE: the 12AX7 data settings on the chart are wrong. The correct ones are written on the front of the manual.

Comes with the catalog of numbers for testing various tubes. Y ou may be able to spot the control labeled'Grid' in the lower left corner on the picture shown above. This sets the grid bias on the tube. And ranges from-5VDC all the way up to-45VDC. Under the hood, there are no tubes to worry about in these testers. The'solid state' bias supply is furnished via the single diode. See the picture of the'guts' of the Model 666. Highlighted in yellow is the filtered DC supply(for the transistor test) on the right and the adjustment for leakage indication on the left. You can set how'high' a leakage exists between elements of the tubes that would be'failed' on the leakage test. The unit has been powered up and appears to be in operating condition. The outside metal case does show signs of wear, but could easily be painted if you wish to do that. Also included is a very nice copy of the owners manual with full operation detail as well as tube charts(including tube update information) In addition, there is a supplemental tube test box for additional tube testing. I can not guarantee the working condition of this unit. It was in a electronic repair shop that went out of business. I bought the building and all contents. At the end of my description after the dashes is the specs per radiomusuem.org. The unit is in overall good shape, the metal case has surface rust on it and the plastic cover over the top out put viewer is cracked but all of the knobs and wheels turn freely and it does have the tube inter-changeability chart included. The fine item you are considering is a Vintage Eico 666 Vacuum Tube Valve Tester. I have lots of photos below. So be sure to scroll down to the bottom of this page to take a better look. This well made vintage tester looks to be in good overall condition, is powering up, and I tested a few tubes with it. The only issue I can find are that sometimes the roller chart sticks and doesn‘t want to turn all that well(but it eventually will turn) and I also was unable to find a socket for testing smaller tubes like 12AX7‘s, so perhaps you‘d need some kind of adapter for these which I do not have. Here's a well-functioning Eico 666 tube and transistor tester that's also in nice shape(except for the carrying case-that did it's job protecting the tester from harm) This one comes with the after-market Eico socket for 10-pin miniature and Nuvistor tubes. It also comes with a fully-intact data roller and three additional tube-data booklets. The latest updated for 1978. I've tested the unit with a few known tubes and they read within specs.
