Military TV-2B/U Vacuum Electron Tube Test Set, w/manual. Great Condition
For sale. Top of the line, Military TV-2B/U Vacuum Electron Tube Test Set with manual. This set is in great condition as the photos clearly show. Indicators, sockets and control panel look beautiful. Has a three prong plug too. I purchased this 20 years ago and when it arrived. Went into dry, desert storage as I was working overseas at the time. 20 years later, it's still sitting there. I purchased it from Tucker Electronics. Who at the time had just gone through it and calibrated it(NIST) I never put power on it. There are a few light dings to the case from previous use during it's life but nothing to effect its function. The only thing to note is that the two test cables(red and black) with the clips on them got old and need to be replaced. Their rubber coatings are dried out and very stiff. That's why the price is low. Those ... morecables with clips can be easily found in multimeter kits or at Fry's Electronics or similar. Etc. and are easily changed. I lowered the price 200.00 because of that, so get it here cheap. If it were me, I'd remove the existing red and black cables and replace them with female test sockets and use fresh red and black cables with clips and male bananna jacks to make it easy to service in the future. Other than that, it looks great. Test chart moves when the thumbwheel is turned. Includes manual and Tucker's inspection sheet. Old cal sticker from them still on the case(see photos) Being sold as is. No returns. I'm selling it here cheap and it's priced to move fast! Don't blink on this one or it will be gone! The needle moves when different buttons are pressed/switched, The dial/Chart moves freely. I do not have any tubes to test this unit out completely, came from a clean estate. Cosmetically: the glass dial has a crack in it, But otherwise looks good, the cords look good, some wear around dials, as you could expect from a vintage Item. Hickok 600a tube tester. Is in good condition inside. The case has some overall wear to the covering. It's still decent except the back of the case has some of the covering completely worn off(see photo) The tube tester turns on but I haven't tested it beyond seeing if it powers up. The unit is quite clean inside though there are some markings and labels on some of the levers and dials from its previous owner. Weighs just over 20 lbs without the shipping box. Probes and cords shows some age corrosion and need to be cleaned up as they smell a bit mildewy. I think all the cords and probes are there. But check the photos to be sure. Paperwork which includes the Manual. Supplemental Tube Chart and a rolled up Roller Chart also has a light smell, but could probably be aired out. Some age tattering to the paper, particularly the edges of the Roller Chart and Supplemental Charts isolated papers. The Wooden Casing Box shows considerable wear and scratching. But is solidly intact. Sorry. No international shipping for this item.

I sold many testers lately. Just thinning my collection. Cosmetic conditions are great as you can see in pictures(just a small area of chart plastic cover is indented"inside" but chart rolls smooth. No interference at all. Tester does power up. I tested 5Y3 and 12ax7 tubes and result was just as good as my calibrated Jackson 648S tester. However. I never got a chance(time) to go thru with any major check up. I don't know when was the last calibration performed or if there were any parts(caps) replaced/changed, so please assume calibration is needed if you plan on using this PACO as your primary or secondary tester and you may update caps if necessary.All ... moreof you guys out there know what to do when you get vintage piece of electronics. This EICO 666 belonged to an avid radio operator here in Central IL. It's in overall pretty good shape for its age(SN-1007) The face is clean and appears to be all original knobs. Buttons& switches. The unit has been powered up and appears to be in operating condition. The outside metal case does show signs of wear, but could easily be painted if you wish to do that. Also included is a very nice copy of the owners manual with full operation detail as well as tube charts(including tube update information) In addition, there is a supplemental tube test box for additional tube testing. It appears to have been made by the gentleman who owned this originally. If you are in to old radios, amplifiers this tube tester would be a useful tool in testing your tube type electronics. Vintage Radio City tube tester w/ original cord, test leads, Manual, schematic
I used this Vintage 1940's Radio City tube tester for several years in which it worked flawlessly. But then the gauge needle broke and i attempted to repair with no success. So just needs a gauge to become operable again. Dovetailed box needs refinished, the top and bottom have a couple of laminate layers that have separated. But the tester is in great condition, includes voltmeter test leads, an excellent original Bakelite cord, as well as an original operation manual with detailed schematic and tube testing chart.
