It will test 2A3. 45, 5AR4, 5U4, 5Z3, 6L6, 6V6, 6SN7, 6SL7, 6BQ5, 6CA4, 6CA7 EL34, 6DJ8, 12AT7, 12AU7, 12AX7, 5751, 6922, and KT-88/6550 along with many other audio and radio tubes. Cosmetically the tester is in nice condition. The roll chart rolls freely. I cleaned all the switches and put a new power cord on this tube tester. The electronics inside are very clean. This tester will test almost any tube. This unit will test 4 pin. 5 pin, 6 pin, 7 pin, octal, loctal, 7 pin miniature, 9 pin, and many other tubes. This unit is missing the cover. This unit works great and readings are comparable to readings on my Hickok 539A and my TV-7/B. I tested the following tubes and had good results: 5Y3. 6L6, 6V6, 6SN7, 6DJ8 and 12AX7. These were known good tubes that had been tested on my Hickok 539C and TV-7/B tube testers. Includes the original manual and a photocopy of the supplemental settings chart. With sockets added to test the newer tubes that were becoming available. In addition to the usual octal, loctal, 7& 9-pin miniature sockets, Eico added 5& 7-pin nuvistor sockets, novar and compactron sockets, plus 7& 9-pin pin straighteners. The 9-pin socket is actually a combination 9& 10-pin miniature socket. The 628 also has a vastly improved roll chart. The old 4. 5, 6& 7-pin sockets are gone to make room for the new ones. But the older tubes can still be tested. In fact, the data is still on the roll chart and in the tube data manual(included) All it takes is a simple adapter you can make for yourself from an old 8-pin tube base and the socket of your choice. Vintage Hickok Model 600A Tube Tester w Instructions Manual w Roll Chart
This is a great estate find from upstate NY. It is a Hickok model 600A tube tester. It has the instruction manual and a roll chart. I don't have any tubes to test nor do I know anything about tube testers. I cannot verify the working condition of this tester because of my lack of knowledge. I do know that the light(as seen in the photo) does turn on although it does flicker very faintly. The chord is a little stiff and there are a couple rips in the rubber towards the plug. It measures 17" wide. 11" deep and 8" tall and is in a hard case that snaps closed. There is some wear to the red case, such as spots where the bare wood is showing through and one of the metal feet has pushed through the wood case.
