THIS TESTER WAS IN WORKING CONDITION THE LAST TIME THAT I USED IT. IT HAS BEEN IN THE GARAGE FOR AROUND 4 YEARS SINCE. I DON'T PRESENTLY HAVE ANY TUBES WITH WHICH I COULD NOW TEST IT. Vintage Supreme Model 85 Tube Tester for Parts or Repair
I just picked up this Supreme model 85 at a public sale. It is missing lid, instructions and tube data. I got what I needed on internet to check it out. Testers meter adjusted to center as it should so I tried testing good 6A3 tube, I could not get a reading but bulb lit so its not burnt out. I tried a type 80 rectifier tube it seemed to test ok. Cosmetically its not bad, the top left and right corners are broke at screw holes, and a screw is missing to the right of leakage test bulb. I took as many angle pictures as I could to help you because what you see is what you get. Any questions please ask.

Vacuum tube checker, supreme instruments model 85
You are bidding on a Vacuum tube checker. Supreme instruments model 85. This is not fully working or I don't know how to use it. The tube underneath lights up and when you move some switches the needle moves but I put a tube in and tried to test it but it did not light, even though the tube underneath is lit. So selling it as is for that reason. Looks very cool and is in great physical condition for its age. We installed a new cord and plug as the old one was in very bad shape. Can be seen. Dynamic Tube Tester Model 85, excllent shape, looks hardly used
This tube tester is very clean on the inside. Appears not to have been used a lot. The outside case is somewhat dirty but can probably be cleaned up. Plugged it in and it works great. Superior Instruments SICO Tube Tester Model 85 Manual & Charts, Fixed & Tested
The Model 85 Superior Instruments Company. SICO, is a dynamic tube tester. It is considered to be a step above an emission tester. This unit was fixed and fully tested including all sockets(even the sub-miniature type) indicators, switches and controls. This tester is fully working and does as good a job of testing tubes as when it was new. The cabinet is solid but has seen plenty of use through the decades. The exterior hardware is tarnished but solid. The handle is good. The case shows wear but again is solid. There are some ink marks and paint splatter on the cover. I think overall the condition of the case is decent. The panel is in very good condition. The meter lens has a few small cracks. But is readily readable. The switches and controls work well. Vintage Supreme Model 85 Tube Tester with Chart and Accessory Adapters - WORKING
You are bidding on a vintage Supreme model 85 vacuum tube tester for antique radios. Very nice looking vintage 1935 Supreme 85 tube tester. This is the early version. With the round meter instead of the fan-shaped meters Supreme used on later testers. It uses a large NE-1 neon bulb for shorts testing(top of photo 2) Set-up and testing are easy, using the chart inside the lid(photo 4) The model 85 tests all tubes commonly in use in 1935 without adapters. In addition, the original owner of this tester purchased 8 socket adapters(bottom of photo 4) that allow many later octal type tubes to be tested, He added directions for testing these at the top of the original Supreme chart(photo 4) This model 85 is in very clean condition with an excellent oak case(see photos) The cord has been replaced for safety. But everything else is original. I tried ... morethis tester on an 01A tube with borderline emission, and got the correct result(photo 3) The shorts neon indicator also worked correctly. If you plan to use this regularly. It should be checked and possibly re-calibrated. These are simple testers, but the capacitors are probably leaky after 80 years. I also noticed that button number 2 on the bottom sticks, so should be cleaned and lubricated. Supreme(located in Greenwood. Mississippi) was one of the most widely sold kinds of radio test equipment. Their products were functional and within the budget of most radio repairmen. Today they make great collectibles, especially clean working ones like this. This 85 is a duplicate of other Supreme test equipment in my collection. Here is a fully working. Calibrated and tested SICO Model 85 dynamic tube tester. It comes complete with a copy of the documentation set. The documentation set includes instructions, schematic and tube test charts for the Model 85 Tube Tester. The instrument itself is in very good condition and works very well. All switches are very good. The sockets are nice and tight, and the meter is smooth and repeatable, but does have some checking in the plastic meter window. The overall physical condition is well shown in the pictures. The exterior hardware has some rust and the case has some minor marks and tears, but the insides are n very good condition. I repaired. Recapped and calibrated this tester. I tested every socket and they all work.
