This Hickok 800 Mutual Conductance checker is in great working condition. R ecent calibration done per mfg. specs, calibration data/ settings sheet i s included. Line cord has been professionally replace d with modern 3 prong cord for safety- front panel is now always grounded- but o riginal line cord will be included in sale. Photos show various tubes being checked. Includ ing a 6L6. A 12AT7, and an 811. Checks for shorts and leakage. Also checks diodes and discrete transistors. Missing only the red plate cap lea d. The black lead can be used for tubes with plate caps. For tubes with both grid and plate caps an additional lead will be needed; you can make one or they are available on eBay. Up for auction is a Western Electric Hickok KS-15750-L2 Tube Tester. This tester is from a collection I'll be auctioning over the next few months. It has been stored indoors in a smoke free and climate controlled home. Included is a copy of the operator's manual and an extensive tube data supplement. The KS-15750-L2 was manufactured by Hickok for Western Electric and is of the highest quality. Despite being built for industrial research and development service this example has escaped with only a few dings and scratches suggesting limited use. Upon opening the lid a stunning faceplate and knobs are revealed once again confirming limited service. The only detraction is a missing right hand lid stop arm and stud. This part is made of bent steel rod and can be easliy fabricated. The KS-15750-L2 is a truly beautiful tube tester. Very cool to use and look at, these are verifiably collectible. The appeal does not end there. it's the flagship Sencore tube tester- very expensive when new- not as popular as competitor's B&K models- and much more invloved and capable. Sencore went the high road with asthetics. And sold these back in the 1960s for huge money. They staged educaton seminars for technitions back then, showing off all of the advanced features the MU150 had, compared to other types of portables. A tube era technition or traveling engineer generally left Sencore's show, feeling these were the deus-ex machina of tube troubles! It's quite ... moretrue. If you did audio repairs back then, having a set that tested Mutual Conductance on many tubes, with an available conversion chart to GM/Micromhos was somthing only a few machines could do. Added to the over-the-top GAS/ shorts bridge- it's one heck of a sensitive checker. The MU150(an updated version of the MU140) Really does the extra mile to find trouble making tubes. It's why tube amp guys pay so much for it's far less capapable sibling, the"MityMite" for the GRID LEAKAGE test. When in this mode, the MU150 uses it's sensitive bridge to find noisy and"GASSY" tubes. The large tube bridge-meter is like a microscope compared to even the most expensive Laboratory machines! The MU150 was designed to quickly determine if your power tube WILL WORK. HOW STRONG IT IS, and finally to MATCH it up gain wise with others. Sencore TC162 Mighty Mite. I just replaced 2 capacitors and calibrated the unit. Works Great. I am also including some New Socket Savers for the 8 and 9 pin sockets. Book is in good shape. Sencore's are great testers that will for sure weed out a bad tube. Even guys with testers that cost a lot more money use a Sencore for initial tests and shorts test. Condition is decent. This sale is for a TV-7D/U. The serial number is 8669. The photo of the invoice reads. This tester is in great shape and shows little wear. After some minor tweaks, the unit settled in and should provide many years of service. I reconnected the meter and installed a replacement meter capacitor. I also added meter protection diodes. I replaced the octal socket saver. I adjusted the cal pots as needed. All the sockets are good and I checked/ adjusted each pin with my gauges to assure them. The test data and more info is sent along with the tester. The test settings book, grid/plate test leads and a new cord where added. This work was done July 2013. This auction is for a Hickok TV-7 Tube Tester. The TV-7 series of testers was well known for their reliability. Durability and ruggedness. These military grade testers were made by several sub-contractors, but Hickok was the original designer. The tester offered in this auction is the original model TV-7 and it was a back-up to a duplicate that I use in my repair/restoration business. This unit was thoroughly checked for proper operation and accuracy, all switches were cleaned and checked for proper operation and a calibration was performed to check for correct plate, screen, and bias voltages. All tube sockets were cleaned. I tested a variety of 7, 9, 8 pin octal and some vintage 4 and 5 pin tubes of known quality. The tester is performing correctly and accurately. During its military service it was updated to a 3 prong grounded power cord, ... morethis rig runs on 120 VAC. The picture of the case shows this as an"A" model, but it is actually a straight TV-7 and all pictures of the front panel and chassis are of a straight TV-7. The case was probably switched out at some repair depot some years ago. Hi-Fi owners, Hams, hobbyists, tube collectors, etc. This tester has been professionally repaired and tested for calibration. It tests most popular audio and radio tubes. The Carbon composition resistors that affect calibration have usually drifted badly out of tolerance on these testers. I replace them with modern 2% tolerance resistors. The tester is now very accurate. I have owned several of these. As well as several Hickoks, and it reads consistent with all of them. I replaced the old two-wire AC line cord with a grounded three-wire cord for your safety. I replaced the test leads with good quality test prod wire. One of the top cap connectors is chipped. But it does not affect it's function. I replaced some missing knobs using correct types. I also repainted the outer case which had some rust. TV-7 A/U vacuum tube tester. Calibrated. Nice shape
Offered is a TV-7 A/U vacuum tube tester. It's in very nice cosmetic condition and it comes with all of its original attachments and original flip chart. I have owned this tester for at least 5-6 years and have had it calibrated by TV-7 specialist Dan Nelson. He has calibrated 5 or 6 TV-7's for me and always does an excellent job. The calibration document is included with the set. I have owned many TV-7's over the years. These were work horse units for the military and most received very heavy use. When you buy an original un-touched unit you can expect that it will need extensive repair to bring it back to life. The most common problem is that the 7& 9 pin Miniature sockets and the 8-pin Octal socket are going to be worn. The pins will be so loose that any tube that you test will wallow around in the socket making poor contact. ... moreLeaving you with an incorrect test reading or intermittent reading. These need to be changed. In addition both the 83 and 5Y3 rectifiers are usually well used and need to be replaced. Calibration will most certainly be"off" This set has had the 7&9 pin sockets replaced as well as the Octal socket. Anti-Ferrite beads have been added to all three. This is a feature of the TV7-D and is useful in preventing oscillation of high gain tubes such as WE417A and 6DJ8's. The set was also calibrated to spec's. A detailed calibration report is provided. Simpson 1000 Tube Tester. The tube tester is a Plate Conductance type of tube tester. Much better than your simple emissions testers. This tester is nearly identical to the Eico 666 tube tester. Other than the lever knobs are reversed. The question arises. Did Simpson design the tester and Eico copied it? Or did Eico design it and Simpson copy it? My guess is that Simpson designed the circuitry and Eico being a"Kit Operation" slightly modified it so they could sell kits of this excellent tube tester. As to how the tester setup is made. The first 9 lever knobs correspond to Tube Pin Numbers 1 through 9 they are labeled A-I the knob J the 10th one is the Grid Cap lever. K then sets the plate and screen grid voltages and L sets the shunt resistor value across the meter. You also will set the Bias and Range knobs as per needed for each ... moretube setup. Hickok calls these Bias and English knobs. The positions of the first 9 lever knobs is. 0 = ground. 1 = Filament, 2 = Screen Grid, 3 = plate, 4 = control grid bias, 5 = open no connection. Once you learn to operate this tube tester its reasonably easy to devise tests for tubes that aren't listed in any of the books or obsolete tube lists. I have been through this tester and done capacitor replacement. Resistor checking and calibration. I have had this tester for several years. Went through all the calibration steps and checked all the voltage specifications and they were all virtually perfect. The picture with the DMM is showing the line voltage for a 6L6 set at 6.3 volts. And with the 6L6 in the socket the line voltage reads 6.2 volts which is exactly where it should be. The line voltage being correct is critical to obtain proper Gm test results. Many Hickok testers can still be calibrated, but with a ... moretube in the socket the line voltage drops under 6 volts and you get low Gm test readings. The pictures also show a 6L6 calibration tube tube that tests with the exact Gm as the tube and a 6AX7 with that also tests with the correct Gm. The 6L6 is tested for Gm on E, the 15,000 range, the 6AX7 on D the 6000 range, of the function switch(which provides the correct signal voltage) as per the tube data. This is an exceptional Hickok 750 that does not have the typical wear signs around certain knobs and switches and will be delivered ready to use. It is all original with the exception of the 83 and 5y3GT tubes which are as good as new RCA tubes. The Original cord is in great shape and something that can easily be upgrade to a grounded plug. There is a roll chart from 1963 and a manual for this later model of 750 available for free at Bama. The case is in nice shape with some minor marking on the outside and it has the latch to keep the lid open rather than have to take it off. And according to the calibration procedures, the shunt dial would be tagged about one number or so lower to show 5475, but that has not been done and will be left up to the new owner. The calibration tube's Gm reading is from a 533A and from a very reputable and trusted source. The Hickok 6000 series is fairly simple to calibrate and instructions on calibration. The manual, and updated foreign and domestic tube data is readily available at no charge. The calibration can be done using a DMM as long as shunts are used and this tester was calibrated using both an analog and DMM. This tester has a pot to set the line voltage and with a 6L6 in the socket the line is at 6.2 volts which is where it needs to be. Hickok TV-7/U Military Tube Tester Working& Very Nice Conditon all Within SPECS Hiclok TV-7/U Military Tube Tester Works very good and installed new JAN 83 and 5y3GT rectifiers. Would normally say it was calibrated. But according to the manual, it was only tested& adjusted. Bias voltages all within specs, 22, 50, 75, and 100. The plate voltage was checked according to the manual, with a 375k resistor parallel from the cathode to the plate, pin 6& 3, and it is right at 150 volts and specs call for 150 volts. The high screen voltage used the same resistor on pins 6& 4 and was at 129 volts and specs call for 130 + or– 3 volts. The low screen voltage was checked and at 56 and specs call for 56 volts. Also, checked the line voltage with a 6L6 in the socket and it is at 6.1 volts. Hickok 600 Tube Tester- Calibrated! HAM This is a very nice. Clean Hickok model 600 tube tester of the Dynamic Mutual Conductance type. The 600/800 series of testers were Hickok's most popular because of their easy portability and uncanny ability to identify tubes that were not performing properly. The 600 is still one of the easiest to use testers that has complete testing functionality. It has those 4-pin, 5-pin, 6-pin and 7-pin sockets you'll need for testing the tubes in your really vintage radios, as well as the"modern" 8-pin Octal and Loctal sockets and the 7 and 9-pin miniatures. The 600 uses a variable bias supply to properly bias the tube for testing. And high enough plate and screen voltages to properly exercise the tube under test. It also measures the presence of gas in a tube- something most testers can't ... moredo. The"ENGLISH" control can be set to read the quality of a tube on the Good-Bad scale, or to measure"Gm" on the three calibrated scales. The calibrated red dots on the English dial eliminate the need for a separate switch for Gm ranges. A neat trick that helped keep the tester small and portable. Hickok testers. With their patented testing circuit, are uncanny at finding bad tubes that other testers often miss- which is probably why the Hickok testers were used almost exclusively by the U.S. military. I find them best for that purpose too. This tester has been recently calibrated using the original factory calibration procedure. And is shown here measuring a NOS 6L6GC tube on the calibrated 6000 micromho"Gm" scale. The"bogey" value for a new 6L6 type tube on this instrument is 5000. Even the bipolar transistor test function works great. All the switches and controls work well and the sockets are good. This tester comes complete with a copy of the manual and test charts so you will be able to use this unit to test your tubes and transistors. It's light and small so you can easily get it down from the shelf when you need to test some tubes. As you can see from the pictures, this unit is in good condition. I found two chips in the case that are shown in the pictures. Other than that, the case is made out of Bakelite so unless you manage to crack it or chip it, it's almost indestructible. This tube tester is the portable style as opposed to a bench instrument. That means it has a closing case with a handle that you can take with you on service calls. You probably won't be doing much of that. But it's still nice to have the closing case because this tester stores much better. As you can see from the pictures, this unit is in good condition. Hickok 733A Gold- Calibrated& Everything Within Specs Works Great Late Version Hickok 733A Tube Tester Later Version that is Gold Anodized dated 1963 This later model has a calibration adjustment pot that can be seen in the pictures that is not on the earlier 533A testers. There are no resistor spools on this newer version 533A and it has precision resistors. A copy of the manual for this tester is included that includes calibration instructions and other important adjustment and information not included in the original manual. The schematic, and operating instructions. There is an abundance of available information including tube data available at no charge at Bama and elsewhere for Hickok 533A. Went through all the calibration steps and checked all the voltage specifications and they were all virtually perfect. Plate voltage. Bias voltages ... moreat 100, 75, 50, and 22, signal voltage, screen and low screen voltage, filament voltages and checked with 6l6 loaded, shorts test, and calibration tubes. The picture with the DMM is showing the line voltage for a 6L6 set at 6.3 volts, and with the 6L6 in the socket the line voltage reads 6.2 volts which is exactly where it should be which is an additional calibration procedure that is included with the manual. The line voltage being correct is critical to obtain proper Gm test results. Many Hickok testers can still be calibrated, but with a tube in the socket the line voltage drops under 6 volts and you get low Gm test readings. Tested a 6L6 calibration tube that tests with the exact Gm as the tube and a 6AX7 with that also tests with the exact Gm on both sections of the tube at 1440& 1400 Gm that are pictured. The meter is nice and not cluttered with unnecessary numbers making it easy to read the correct Gm or Good/Bad. This 533A also has the noise test which is something that anyone testing tubes for their amps may want to get used to using in order to weed out noisy tubes that test good. Dyna-Jet 707 tube tester recently calibrated Nice
Tube Tester Dyna Jet 707 ready to be used. I have used this maybe 5 times ago test 6V6 tubes and needs to be where it can be used. It is used but very nice and was calibrated before I bought it. I had planned to use it a lot but never did since I play more guitar than build amps or test tubes. It is ready to be used instead of just sitting around.

Hickok Model 539A Tube Tester, calibrated, yes!
nice. Restored Hickok 539A the Caddilac of mutual conductance lab-grade tube testers. If you are looking at this, you know what it is and how nice it is! This one has been nicely cleaned up with most of the tube sockets replaced with brand new sockets(4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 7, 8, octal) and the others replaced with very good but used sockets. All resistors checked and replaced were needed, and caps replaced as well. Calibrated, this comes with a copy of the users manual, and has been rewired for safe operation with a modern 3-prong AC plug. Please feel free to ask questions.

NOS Tung Sol JAN 5Y3GT, and as good as new RCA JAN 83 mercury rectifier. Has and upgraded three-prong power cord, and some new capacitors and new resistors. The tube data chart is dated 1954 and is in great condition and moves freely. Plate voltage is 152, signal voltage is 5 VAC, and 1 VAC on low. Bias voltage is 40.2@ 100, 26.3@ 75, 13.6 on 50, and 3.0@ 22. Screen voltage is 134 VDC. Filament voltage with 6l6 in the socket is 6.3, and checked Gm with calibration tube of 5900 Gm and this 547A tested the tube with the exact Gm right on the original red dot on the dial.
