Though it appears very similiar to 600 series units I have seen. This vintage unit tests 4, 5, 6 and 7"big pin" tubes as well as octal, loktal, 7& 9 pin miniatures. It is not setup for subminiatures, compactrons or nuvistors. The case measures approximately 14"x10"x6" The unit shows some normal wear and tear, the worst damage being a slight bend to the pointer on the meter(see photos. I checked a few tubes with it and found that some seemed to work fine but others did not show any reading at all. I suspect a bad connection somewhere, maybe just a dirty switch, but I do not know. It absolutly needs a new power cord before it could even be tested safely but, after noticing some screws missing on the cover I had to open it up to make sure it wasn't gutted. As you can see in the pictures aside from a coating of dust the interior looks surprisingly good with no evidence that anything but age has deteriorated the cord on the outside of the cover, even the paper roll looks quite good. This is a large heavy object so shipping will be quoted as parcel post. If you live between the mountains like me and won't get hit by the post office for a substantial upcharge for oversize packages or just want it fast I'll offer Priority Mail as an option. Heathkit TC-1 Vintage Tube Tester w/ Carry Case
This may be Heathkit's first tube tester. And a fair amount of thought was included with the design. An additional hole is provided for future socket addition, and it checks for emission, short, opens and fil continuity. It is also provided with quality components for the time. A 6SN7 test is shown in one pic. However the short lamp is generally on too. This may or may not be normal, the manual isn't arranged to address dumb questions- like mine. Roll chart is the requisite 1-1-66. An update booklet to 1-1-69 is included. Chart works freely, a tad tight near the end. The tester has turned off twice(line adjust reading went to zero) momentarily then returned to normal, no attempt to determine cause. Wiring is neat and clean, some of the sockets are not oriented as the manual shows but the pins are wired neatly and correctly. Meter ... moreface is clear, has one short tight age crack at the zero adjustment. Switches and controls were cleaned. Original owner(and seller) had inserted the TC-1 into a carry case padded to provide proper fit. This has protected the unit from the effects of long-term exposure reasonably well. A poor quality but complete copy of the manual is included. Along with the update booklet. Sold as-is. Not working since I haven't verified the short lamp status. I have powered this tester up and it does power up. The needle on the gauge moves. It is not broken or stuck. The wooden box has dovetail corners and is in great cond. Box has a Sylvania decal.Handle hinges and closures are all great. It has a leather handle. The power cord has hardened and the outer coating is cracking off however it does work.This is a really nice tube tester in a really nice box. As with all electrical items I sell I cannot guarantee it works only that it does power up. There is an instructional booklet and it says Operating Instructions for Series 700. Vintage test equipment in used condition. Has missing/wrong screws on face plate. There is some electrical tape around the power cord where it goes through the plaate. The carrying case shows signs of wear but overall very good condition. The paper reel is intact with no tears and the thumb dial works smoothly. Testing: Unit powers up. The line adjust works. Tested a few known good and bad tubes on the 9-pin socket only. It"passed" the good tubes and"failed" the bad ones so it appears to be somewhat functional. It was made in the USA and while I am not sure of the date I would guess it to be late 1950s. There is no model number on it. Though it appears very similiar to 600 series units I have seen. This vintage unit tests 4, 5, 6 and 7"big pin" tubes as well as octal, loktal, 7& 9 pin miniatures. It is not setup for subminiatures, compactrons or nuvistors. The case measures approximately 14"x10"x6" The unit shows some normal wear and tear, the worst damage being a slight bend to the pointer on the meter(see photos. I checked a few tubes with it and found that some seemed to work fine but others did not show any reading at all. This is a 1936 tube tester made by Supreme. This is the deluxe lab portable model. It not only tests tubes but also has a voltmeter. Ohmmeter, and performs leakage tests on capacitors.It's in the origi nal wooden case with handle. Tester is 5 1/2 x 11 1/4 x 12 3/8 and weighs 13 pounds. I inherited this from my dad when he passed away last year. He collected many unusual items and I like finding them. He told me before he passed that he wanted these things to help me financially. He kept anything he could if thought it might be worth anything down the road. My daughter. All controls,switches and tube sockets were cleaned. Some capacitors, resistors and diodes were replaced. N ew power cord and roll chart window. G ood grid cap lead. Great for testing amplifier. Audio, stereo, hi/fi radio and tv tubes. Someone made the top cover. The line/short test switch had a toggle switch. I replaced it with the correct slide switch. Switch holes were round for toggle switch(see pictures) The repair looks good. S hows some age. But is in overall good plus condition.

Vintage Conar Model211 national radio institute test instrument equipment
Up for bid is a vintage Conar Instruments Model 211. I have no knowledge on this piece. I can tell you the needle does move when plugged in. There is some rusting around the casing as seen in photos. The wire on the aligator clip is thin and frail. The front and glass are in nice condition. The knobs turn freely and seem to be in very good condition as well. If you have questions on this piece. You are bidding on a vintage Radion VHF UHF Field Strength Meter in good condition but will need some tlc to bring out it's best appearance. It has a tube chart and schematic as pictured. The scaleplate that rotates is unglued from the metal disk but is still inside and in good condition.It still has it's original leather handle in usable condition.
