Mercury Model 202 Tube Tester Self Service -={ LOOK!!!}=-
=* Mercury Model 202 Tube Tester}=- This would make a great addition to a collection or a project piece for someone. I have had for several years and decided I need some room and have several vintage item on display already. I powered the unit up and it seems to all function, I am no expert on these but from what I can tell if it is not working it will be something simple to fix, all the parts seem to be in order, the upper sign is cracked in several places but none are on the front, a reproduction could be made fairly easily from the original and I have put masking tape over the cracked areas to keep them from further cracking. The meter cover is not attached and has broken the needle about half way down, the broken piece is taped inside the meter, i was going to try and fix it or replace it and have had no time. It needs the power cords ... morereplaced they are in bad shape and I just patched them up to power it. Also it appears all of the cardboard flip-cards are a complete set. Chart/Testing Instructions assembly is complete and readable. But appears to have been exposed to moisture. Inserts(card stocks) on which data is printed, show warping(do not lay absolutely flat on metal plates) and discoloration. Metal plates and hinges show some rust. Please see above photos which indicate the general condition of the Chart/Testing Instructions assembly. Chart/Testing Instructions assembly is composed of 5 grey metal plates connected by hinges and 1-9 Chart/Test Instruction inserts. Inserts 1-8 reference U.S. Standard Tube Numbers 0A3 through 421A. A classic drug store tester in great condition- Mercury 202 model. Working tester did well with tubes I had for testing. Beautiful ORIGINAL lighted sign above with no damage. Nice turquoise/white color scheme. A very nice item for your work or hobby room. Thorough set-up charts include 7591. KT88, 6CA7, 6L6, 12AX7, A modern tester for sure. Flip charts work as new. May be from 1958 as serial number has lots of 0's then 258 at the end. Includes the stand. Door key is lost however. 2 empty drawers within. 3 Self test brochures included. Really nice overall condition. An item that will bring back memories. The holy grail of emission testers, and as we know emission testing is all that is needed with power output tubes.
