This is a Vintage Electronic Instrument EICO Model 625 Radio TV Tube Tester. It is in as is untested condition. It Powers Up and Line Adjust works. The tube setting list light up but the roller that turns list does not work properly and only turns list a little. The metal case and metal face has some wear. Scratches and stains. I'll bet every Navy'Sparkie' had one of these right next to his rack. You are bidding on an AN/USM-3 Test Set/ TV-4/U Tube Tester. I have not thoroughly tested this unit. It was made for the navy by Radio Frequency Labratories of Boonton New Jersey. I took the cover off to take pictures of the internals. Of course it is built like a tank, the way the military used to have stuff built, built to last. I did power it up and confirmed that the transformer is good. TV-7 A/U vacuum tube tester. Calibrated. Nice shape
Offered is a TV-7 A/U vacuum tube tester. It's in very nice cosmetic condition and it comes with all of its original attachments and original flip chart. I have owned this tester for at least 5-6 years and have had it calibrated by TV-7 specialist Dan Nelson. He has calibrated 5 or 6 TV-7's for me and always does an excellent job. The calibration document is included with the set. I have owned many TV-7's over the years. These were work horse units for the military and most received very heavy use. When you buy an original un-touched unit you can expect that it will need extensive repair to bring it back to life. The most common problem is that the 7& 9 pin Miniature sockets and the 8-pin Octal socket are going to be worn. The pins will be so loose that any tube that you test will wallow around in the socket making poor contact. ... moreLeaving you with an incorrect test reading or intermittent reading. These need to be changed. In addition both the 83 and 5Y3 rectifiers are usually well used and need to be replaced. Calibration will most certainly be"off" This set has had the 7&9 pin sockets replaced as well as the Octal socket. Anti-Ferrite beads have been added to all three. This is a feature of the TV7-D and is useful in preventing oscillation of high gain tubes such as WE417A and 6DJ8's. The set was also calibrated to spec's. A detailed calibration report is provided. It looks like the calibration service was@$200. I am downsizing now so, if you are looking for a nice clean calibrated TV-7 which will last you another decade or more, then this is probably the one for you. TV-10 D/U vacuum tube tester. Nice shape
Offered is a TV-10 D/U vacuum tube tester. Its in very nice cosmetic condition and it comes with a copy of the original manual/data sheet. The TV-10 is a mutual conductance type tester with circuitry similar to the TV-7. The notable difference between the two are additional sockets for the 829/832(the large white ceramic socket you see on the left hand side of the tester) and 2C39(on the right hand side next to the meter) In addition. The meter scale is set to read directly in micro-ohms rather than as a percentage. This is a benefit if you prefer not having to translate the percentage scale from a TV-7 into micro-ohms. I also note that the roll chart has settings for both the KT-88 and KT-66, which sometimes is missing from TV-7 data. The roll chart also shows a good list of Western Electric types including: 101,102, 262,300, 310, 311, 421 ... moreetc. The user manual has additional settings for 274 and the 205D. The T-10 is not a common tester. There far fewer of these around than the TV-2/3/or 7. I think it is probably superior to the 7. Several individuals I know think that they can be more accurately calibrated than the 7 and that is probably true. This set is all original as best I can tell. It does not appear to have had much use. The 7 and 9 pin mini sockets are tight and make good contact. Same too with the octal socket. The roll chart turns freely and all other functions appear to be in good operating shape. The only cosmetic flaw to note, besides the usual dents and dings, is that one of the hinges on the back side of the set has been replaced with something that looks modern. You can probably see this in one of the photos. I have owned this tester for 3-4 years and have only used it occasionally. I am downsizing now so, if you are looking for a nice clean TV-10, then this is probably the one for you. This unit is designed for 110-115VAC only. Vintage Superior Model TV-11 Tube Tester. Tester powers up and meter moves to center of dial. I followed the instructions carefully to test for a short. But first tube glowed for a second and then went dark. 2nd attempt had the same results. I removed tester from it's case and found inside a part in terrible condition. see photo 7 with arrow) I am not into circuitry, but it could be a voltage regulator. I could not find any other visible defects or burn sites in the wiring, but again I have no knowledge in this area. I do know if tester cannot be repaired. it is full of useful parts, and the cabinet is very solid. Photo 5 shows one missing rubber foot. And photo 6 shows 2 missing rubber feet. Look carefully at photo 3 and you can see 2 tiny screws are missing from edge of top. Photo 8 is just some parts I found in cabinet.have no idea ... moreif they are good. Superior TV-11 Tube Tester with the Original Manual and Tube Data The tester has been tested thoroughly and we have tested many tubes on it. It does have a calibration potentiometer for the mains voltage and it has been calibrated. And some old resistors and capacitors replaced to ensure to be trouble free for years to come and can test almost every tube type. A 5R4 is being tested in the pictures for quality and filament continuity on both sections. The tester also has a noise test that uses a regular headphone jack(1/4 inch) and it works as well. Information is widely available and here is a link to the manual that is already included with the tester. That any tube is tested in the diode mode. It is a way to go, and I have found some that are working amazingly well, like for instance the Superior Instruments TV10 or TV11. They look so old fashioned, you would not give much for it. However they have all modern sockets, even a subminiature socket. They have a quite complete roll chart, plus a calibration potentiometer for the mains voltage. The rectifier for the meter is a tube with the TV10, and solid state for the TV11. It means you have to pay some attention to the TV10's and TV11 rectifier circuit, which measures the mains voltage. The TV10 and TV11 separate the bad tubes from the good ones in a reliable way, and leakage test is working very good. lamp must go one below 300.400k Ohms) The wooden case is solid oak wood, which can be restored very nice. Faceplate has date stamp May 6. 1957. The TV-2 is the highest quality US military tester. Faceplate is in fine condition with no wear. I cannot find any indication anywhere on the faceplate this example was used for many hours. Definately a low hours example. As shown in the photos, the chassis was removed from case and circuit quality and voltages measure fine. When shorted tubes are measured in the TV-2, resistors to the selector switches take a beating and will break down and fail. Not a problem with this TV-2. The tools and testers were in nice condition and he seemed to take good care of them. This is one of the last items we have from the estate. We know nothing about this or how to test it. There is a blast tube chart, a white paper on the inside lid(see photo) The Tube Tester has a knob for shunt control, a circuit selector, and L.V. control selector, and a filament selector. It has a chart that gives you information about the tubes(see photo) It has a thing that you rotate in a circle with your thumb to read the chart. It has a large gauge in the middle that says"Reject, Weak, or Good" see photo) There's a black cord with some type of clip on it(see photo) not sure what it is for. USN Military HICKOK TV-3B/U Tube Tester. In very good cosmetic condition. This acquired from the estate of a radio repairman. Conditions were not the best for some of these pieces. This one seemed to fare well as far as oxidation goes. though there was a bit of sandy dust I've cleaned from the interior. Changed the 100uf& 1 caps after noticing meter would not deflect under slow power up. Can not get meter to work even after changing rectifiers. Suspect meter is shot, but could be something else? NAVSHIPS manual is readily available online free to troubleshoot further. Included is what I believe to be all the extraneous odd tube socket and VOM connectors. These will be pulled from side of unit and shipped inside power cord storage compartment for safety. Roll chart works well with some nudging. The tester in in excellent working condition. It's beautiful, I don't know that a guy could ask for much more. It comes with the original build books, and even the supplementary tube charts. The inside shows very little signs of use, the outside has just a few scuffs. Only other thing worth mentioning, 2 of the rubber stick on feet have come off the case. The tester hasn't been used since the early 80's. I can't say it enough, excellent condition. Thanks for looking! Hickok TV-7/U Tube Tester in Great Condition - Calibrated all Within SPECS
Hickok TV-7/U Military Tube Tester Working& Very Nice Conditon all Within SPECS Hiclok TV-7/U Military Tube Tester Works very good and installed new JAN 83 and 5y3GT rectifiers. Would normally say it was calibrated. But according to the manual, it was only tested& adjusted. Bias voltages all within specs, 22, 50, 75, and 100. The plate voltage was checked according to the manual, with a 375k resistor parallel from the cathode to the plate, pin 6& 3, and it is right at 150 volts and specs call for 150 volts. The high screen voltage used the same resistor on pins 6& 4 and was at 129 volts and specs call for 130 + or– 3 volts. The low screen voltage was checked and at 56 and specs call for 56 volts. Also, checked the line voltage with a 6L6 in the socket and it is at 6.1 volts. Instruction manual, and a short pamphlet on finding faulty tubes in your TV along with the main unit. The tester housing is plastic. I'm not sure if it works, but I don't think there's to much that could go wrong with it. The red housing measures approximately; 3 1/2" by 2 3/4" by 1 5/16" thick. The box is in fair condition. Must See TV-2C/U Tube Tester TV-2 300B KT88 6L6 EL34
This is a very nice Military TV-2C/U tube tester made by Taffet Electronics. The TV-2C/U is the more modern of the TV-2 series and is built like a tank. Switches are tight. Snap into place, and are not worn out. It was purchased direct from the Military. Serial number is 89. I tested this set and it is working as seen from the photos. Notice the 6L6G, KT88, and 6L6 reference tube under a test. All meters are working and are not sticking. The bias, plate, screen, filament, etc, can be adjusted. The 6L6 reference was purchased from Daniel Nelson and tested 42 or 5250 uMohs. Notice the 6L6 reference tube tested 86% This is about 5160 uMohs(6000 x.86) This tester includes spare fuses, a spare lamp, a spare 83 tube, and a spare 6X4W tube. The roll chart works very well. The TV-2C/U uses 2 transformers. One, for the filaments, and one for the plate, ... morescreen, etc. Actually this tester is not hard to use, once you get familiar with all the settings and meters. This will test 4, 5, 6, 7 prong, 7 pin, 9 pin, octal, loctal, acorn, sub min 7, sub min 8, sub min 8 long pin, and transmitting 7 pin tubes. I can email pdf files of the manual and tube settings if desired to the winning bidder. I can also email an excel spreadsheet with over 2400 tube settings. This will test the 300B, KT88 tubes, and thousands more. All filter capacitors have been replaced with new stock. I never drill holes and like to keep the chassis looking original. It is being sold as is for parts or repair. I powered it up slowly with a variac transformer and no smoke or hot smell was present. So I proceeded to test a known tube with it. When I attempted to test the tube. The tester began to smell hot so I stopped at that point and shut it off. It never started smoking or anything like that and the variac transformer that I used has a low amp fuse in it and it did not blow the fuse. And it did not damage the tube. I tested the tube after words on one of my Hickok testers and it was fine. I also noticed that there is some minor oxidation. Not bad but I wanted to point that out. A unique rare find due to the ORIGINAL operating manuals which include(see photos) Operating Instructions Booklet and Chart* Howard Sams Tube Substitution Handbook Vol. 8* Metronix Tube Substitution Guide Unit powers up and hums. All dials. Levers, and roll chart move. Wooden box shows signs of use wear and has scuff marks in wood with rust on the front latch. Test sockets for 4. 5, 6, 7 pin early type tubes, 8 pin octal and loctal tubes and 7, 9 pin miniature tubes. All switches, controls and tube sockets have been cleaned. Some resistors, a capacitor and diode were replaced as well. New power cord. Great for testing amplifier, audio, hi/fi, stereo, radio and tv tubes.
