This is a semi-clean. Great working Beckman TJ-6RS Centrifuge and TJ-R Refrigeration Unit combo! I tested the Centrifuge to#1. Power on. And light works on the power button. 2. Door lock works properly. 3. Timer also works properly including the hold option vrs timer only. 4. Rotor speed control switch works 1-10 as its intended. The RPM gauge itself only goes up to 3.000 RPM on the gauge itself, but the rotor/ motor does get up to its full intended speed, Once the rpm gauge gets to 3,000 it does not go up any further on the gauge, but you can still keep increasing the speed of the rotor/ motor with the speed switch to its full speed.There is a small chip of plastic missing on the Speed switch knob(but it still works fine and you can still see the pointer. Also, There is a rust spot on the front edge just under the lid that is clearly visible(see ... morepic. Also, There are no inserts in the Rotor buckets. Its just the rotor and buckets included. Mostly chips/scratches in the paint, as well as the normal minor blemishes from use. The inside of the top is scratched. The power input jack has been replaced with a non-standard one that works fine. A few fins on the condenser coils are a little bent. Notes: This centrifuge has one chief fault: when it is bumped hard. Sometimes the display goes on the blink and gives an error. Most of the time it displays and runs just fine, and turning the machine off and on again clears the error. We found that it takes about 30 seconds to go from a stop to 17kRPM, and then ... more30 seconds to stop the rotor again at braking level 9(max. The speed control works. From ambient temperature at 17kRPM it took about 8 minutes to get to 40ºC, and then from 40º it took 10 minutes to get to 0º. The centrifuge has a hard time cooling sub-zero at maximum speed, but within 25 seconds of reducing the rotor speed, the temperature was down to-10º. It will hold-2º at 17kRPM and-10º at 10kRPM. Operation is quiet and there is very little vibration at any speed. The front panel buttons all work, but we are not sure what they all do. No other testing was done. We ran several tests on this unit and the centrifuge operated smoothly and quietly. What I was able to observe while testing the centrifuge is that the lcd appears to be faint for some segments and also the thermostat maybe isn't working properly. Since when I programmed the centrifuge to cool down to-4 degrees celsius, I was able to get frost in the chamber but the display was only indicating a temperature of only positive 8 degrees celsius after 15 minutes.
