When I started testing this unit it did not run. The rotor is inlcuded and holds 18 microfuge tubes. The pulse button works. It does not appear to brake. The safety switch does not work so please be careful and watch those fingers! This centrifuge comes with a warning that sometime it spins and sometimes it doesn't. If not satisfied for ANY reason. Eppendorf 5415 Micro centrifuge motor assembly, 30 day warranty
This motor assembly is in excellent functional condition. I have left the associated components(mounting bracket. Drive cone, speed sensor) on the motor so it is ready to drop into your ailing/non-working 5415. There are just 3 nuts on the rubber motor mounts and a few plug-in cable connections that need be made to change the motor assembly. I have tested the motor and included optical speed sensor and both work fine. The motor runs quietly and smoothly. The optical speed sensor in the 5415s is delicate, compared to the Hall effect sensor of the 5415C's, and is often damaged. If your 5415 runs only at full speed, it may well have a damaged speed sensor. If your centrifuge does not spin at all, but the LED blinks at a faster than normal rate when you push the short spin button, it may have bad brushes. You might as well replace the whole ... moremotor for about the same cost and effort as replacing the brushes. This unit was recently removed from a lab that was being decommissioned after the principle investigator retired. The unit is in excellent physical condition. But for some reason it will not power on. The screen has no scuffs or scratches. And both knobs are present and easy to turn. There are a few very small scratches on the lid of the unit(see pics) but everything else looks brand new. We have tried a few different power cords but the unit will not power on in any way.
