Up for auction is a Clay Adams Micro-Hematocrit Desktop Centrifuge CT-2900. This unit came to us as part of a surplus lot. This unit powers on and spins accordingly as you press the button in with lid latch. Unit does not spin even when timer is functioning unless you press the button in with the lid latch. The unit has a rotor cover which is locked into place using the attached tool. The rotor looks to be in great condition. The exterior housing has some scratches and scuffs especially on the lid. Please see the supplied picture of the top of the unit for verification. None of the cosmetic issues seem like they would affect the functionality of the unit. Clay Adams CT-2900-BRH Micro Hematocrit Centrifuge
I tested this unit and found it to be working as it should and in very good working condition. I checked the brushes and found them to be about 1/2 inch in length. The instructions say that the brushes should be replaced at 3/16 of and inch. The unit has lots of use left in it. The exterior shows some normal signs of use but looks to have not been abused. I cleaned and repainted the under side of the top cover. The timer works. I am not sure of the exact size of the tubes that this unit uses but a#2 wood pencil fits almost perfectly into the grooves where I believe the proper size tube would fit and the cover screws on tightly.
