However, I was unable to increase the speed much over 3k or so, as once it gets to around that speed, it will not accelerate further- Up to that speed, it seems to work perfectly, and if the knob is turned passed 3k, it simply holds 3000 RPM with no issues. We are unable to test this unit further. This item was purchased from surplus. We see no outward reason ... morethat it will not function fully. As described above. However. There is a glitch as far as the lid open sensor is concerned. After turning it on, it takes five minutes before the lid safety feature will allow using the side latch to open the lid. Then, when you try to make a run, the safety solenoid can be heard trying to lock a couple of times. But then the lid open light never goes off, and it will not allow you to spin the rotor. After fully inspecting the centrifuge, we believe that the motor is fine and will run at full speed.
