The unit is on wheels and seems a roll pretty decently. It is missing the speed and a temperature knob. This centrifuge powers on but the motor brushes are bad. Up for Sale is an IEC Centra-8R Refrigerated Centrifuge w/ Model 216 Swinging Bucket Rotor! This centrifuge is in very nice physical condition. The only thing that I feel I should note is that the lid latches do not line up exactly with the holes in the body of the centrifuge(it is only about 1/8" off) So you have to slightly adjust the lid to the right in order to close the lid and have it lock in place. This is really not that big of an issue, as the lid does lock shut just fine. Just thought that I'd mention it. It has been tested to be in good working order. The refrigeration unit works just as it should and it c ools to the set temperature. The RPMs seemed to increase slower than I'm used to with smaller centrifuges. It went up about 2 RPMs every second. Maybe this is normal. I'm not sure about these larger centrifuges. ... moreAs you can see. There are no inserts/ adapters in the rotor buckets. This is a pretty simple centrifuge- you have a speed knob and that's it. No timer. It also has the speed tachometer, but is missing the rod that connects the tachometer to the rotor spindle. The tachometer goes up to 6000rpm. Aside from the missing tach rod, it works fine, speed increases and decreases with the dial. There's some loose rubber pads laying in the bottom of the basin- I don't know if those are for the stand feet or what. Also some rubber stoppers. You get it all. It will of course go freight. This is a high quality laboratory centrifuge that has not seen much use. It works well. And is in very good condition. The lid has one rivet that is loose. This issue does not prevent the lid from closing completely and securely. See additional product photos for a closeup image showing the loose rivet on the cover. The centrifuge includes four rotors with tube holders(see additional product photos for a picture showing the rotors/tube holders in the centrifuge) This centrifuge has a variable speed control and a tachometer that indicates motor RPM. There is a manual electric brake to help slow down the centrifuge when a spin is complete. The centrifuge can operate in either continuous run mode or automatic timer(up to 60 minutes)
