Eppendorf 5415 Micro centrifuge motor assembly, 30 day warranty
This motor assembly is in excellent functional condition. I have left the associated components(mounting bracket. Drive cone, speed sensor) on the motor so it is ready to drop into your ailing/non-working 5415. There are just 3 nuts on the rubber motor mounts and a few plug-in cable connections that need be made to change the motor assembly. I have tested the motor and included optical speed sensor and both work fine. The motor runs quietly and smoothly. The optical speed sensor in the 5415s is delicate, compared to the Hall effect sensor of the 5415C's, and is often damaged. If your 5415 runs only at full speed, it may well have a damaged speed sensor. If your centrifuge does not spin at all, but the LED blinks at a faster than normal rate when you push the short spin button, it may have bad brushes. You might as well replace the whole ... moremotor for about the same cost and effort as replacing the brushes. If your centrifuge has other symptoms, please contact me to discuss them- most problems are not related to the motor or speed sensor but to the circuit board. Eppendorf 5415D Micro centrifuge w/ soft brake, rotor, lid & 30 day warranty
This centrifuge is in very good functional and cosmetic condition with one quirk/flaw. It takes much longer than is typical for the rotor to come to a stop; to be more exact it takes about 1 minute instead of the usual 10 seconds to stop from full speed. This stopping time is still much faster than with no braking at all(about 5 minutes) and is pretty much identical to the braking time of a 5417R or C model with the"soft" button pushed. One difference from the 5417 model is that the soft button affects both the acceleration and the deceleration. Whereas this 5415D accelerates to full speed in the normal 10 seconds. It comes with the 24 place rotor, a snap-on plastic lid as shown and a power cord. I have been testing this centrifuge now and again for several months and everything but the braking seems to work exactly as it should, ... moreand the braking seems to be stable, i.e. it took about a minute to stop when I first noticed the flaw and it still takes about a minute. You may return this centrifuge within 30 days, for whatever reason, for a full refund- you pay only return shipping.
