Mostly chips/scratches in the paint, as well as the normal minor blemishes from use. The inside of the top is scratched. The power input jack has been replaced with a non-standard one that works fine. A few fins on the condenser coils are a little bent. Notes: This centrifuge has one chief fault: when it is bumped hard. Sometimes the display goes on the blink and gives an error. Most of the time it displays and runs just fine, and turning the machine off and on again clears the error. We found that it takes about 30 seconds to go from a stop to 17kRPM, and then ... more30 seconds to stop the rotor again at braking level 9(max. The speed control works. From ambient temperature at 17kRPM it took about 8 minutes to get to 40ºC, and then from 40º it took 10 minutes to get to 0º. The centrifuge has a hard time cooling sub-zero at maximum speed, but within 25 seconds of reducing the rotor speed, the temperature was down to-10º. It will hold-2º at 17kRPM and-10º at 10kRPM. Operation is quiet and there is very little vibration at any speed. The front panel buttons all work, but we are not sure what they all do. No other testing was done. The only problem with this unit is that someone who didn’t know how to remove the rotor seems to have tried turning on the rotor nut with a pair of pliers probably and damaged it a bit. Can probably be fixed by someone who knows how to remove a rotor. Actually have another one of the little rotor nuts that is damaged to send with the unit.
