Please refer to the photos below for more details on the item. This item was plugged in and powered on with no problems. We turned the timer to 10 minutes and set the speed to max. The item ran for 10 minutes without any issues. When the item stopped running we used the brake and it functioned without any issues. The RPM meter got to a max of 3500. We then took out the rotor and turned the RPM to max and the item went over 9000 RPM. We guarantee this item to function properly and as described as is. It turned on. Spun up to 12500 RPM, cooled down to-9 C and there was frost on the inside when it was done. The lid opened when I pressed the Open button. It later gave an Error 2 message which is an Imbalance Sensor Defective error and the manual says to"Repeat Run" which I did. Error message didn't go away after trying it twice. I put the original front control panel back onto the unit and it still reads Error 17. This is how you will receive it. Cosmetically the unit is in very used condition. The lid is cracked on the inside(see photos) and the outer lid shell is broken off and has been held on by velcro. Unit has scuffs and scratches all over body. The Manual Release cable is broken and it appears the previous own replaced it with some strong wire strand- not the normal nylon string that manufacturer uses. Please see the photo's provided. Spun the shaft great with no noticeable abnormal noises,etc(spun smoothly) I did notice that I could not enter anymore than 200 x 10 RPM into the unit. I do not know if this is normal for these units or not? I could enter anything from 1-200( 1-2000) RPM's and it starts right up and spins on the low and high settings.With everything I did to it and entered. We were able to adjust the temperature, rotor speed, time, rotor type and turtle/rabbit speeds. We did not test the programming functions. We set the temperature at-5°C, rotor speed at 3400RPM and timer at 20 minutes. It took the rotor speed under 1 minute to reach 3400RPM(on the display) When the rotor speed reached 2300RPM, the top lid began to shake loudly. It took about 15 minutes for the temperature to reach-5°C(on the display) Once the temperature reached-5°C, we opened the lid and the chamber wall had frost.
