When powered ... moreon. Lid will not open from the control panel or manual release cable(read below for full details) Using a front control panel from another unit I was able to test the unit. It turned on. Spun up to 12500 RPM, cooled down to-9 C and there was frost on the inside when it was done. The lid opened when I pressed the Open button. It later gave an Error 2 message which is an Imbalance Sensor Defective error and the manual says to"Repeat Run" which I did. Error message didn't go away after trying it twice. I put the original front control panel back onto the unit and it still reads Error 17. This is how you will receive it. Cosmetically the unit is in very used condition. The lid is cracked on the inside(see photos) and the outer lid shell is broken off and has been held on by velcro. Unit has scuffs and scratches all over body. The Manual Release cable is broken and it appears the previous own replaced it with some strong wire strand- not the normal nylon string that manufacturer uses. Please see the photo's provided. Capable of holding up to 18 1.5 mL to 2.0 mL(11 mm diameter) centrifuge tubes. This is a compact. Quiet running centrifuge that has an adjustable range from 1,000 RPM to 14,000 RPM(max) spin speeds with a maximum RCF(Relative Centrifugal Force) of 16,000g. Total spin time is controlled by built-in, adjustable 30-minute timer that automatically shuts off the unit. The momentary button also allows for short spin times when depressed and held. The Eppendorf Micro Centrifuge 5415C is used for quickly separating precipitates and liquids of different specific densities during sample preparation in a multitude of situations in the laboratory. It is clean inside and out. I've inspected the motor brushes(see picture) and they appear to have substantial life left on them. The safety lock keeps the unit closed until it is powered on, and releases the door when the timer is expired and the spinning stops. When the momentary button is pressed(for short spin times) the unit functions properly and I've learned that you must cycle the power off/on to release the door at this point. TIP: The door can also be opened in power off or'failure mode' by inserting a straightened paperclip into the small hole on the left side of the unit. Quiet running centrifuge that reaches a maximum speed of 14,000rpm and RCF of 16,000g within ten seconds. Total spin time is controlled by built-in, 30-minute timer that automatically shuts off the unit.
