Total spin time is controlled by built-in, 30-minute timer that automatically shuts off the unit. The 5415C centrifuge features microprocessor control of operating functions which permits operation for very short spin times. LED pilot light cycles on and off at 1 second intervals for counting. The Eppendorf also features a safety switch which prevents starting the centrifuge with lid open and safety lock which prevents opening of lid while centrifuge is in operation. The 5415C's covered, quick-release, fixed angle rotor(included) provides better control of aerosols and holds up to eighteen 1.5-2.0mL micro centrifuge tubes. The centrifuge stops within 12 seconds and accepts 18x1.5 tubes(Eppendorf part no. F-45-18-11, MAX 16000RCF) Each tube position(bore) in the rotor has a diameter of 11.1mm and a depth of 40mm angled at 45 degrees. I removed the cases and temporarily made solid connections between the fuse recepticals- just long enough to test for power. Both powered up(green lights and fans came on) On one, the rotor spindle tried to spin but appeared to be bogged down(then it was very'stiff' when I tried to turn it by hand) On the other one, the spindle did not seem to be trying to turn at all. I could open the lid. I tried setting the speed up and the timer up and the green light started flashing. But the centrifuge never spun. The lid also locked properly. The shown rotor is included.
