These were his personal testers and were in working order when they moved here to Florida in the late 1950's and they have been sitting in her garage ever since then. Here is a Jackson Dynamic tube tester model#715 up for a NO RESERVE AUCTION. This Jackson vaccuum tube tester has been dependable and pretty accurate. I have tested a lot of different electron tubes on it. I have not used all the different docks/ ports on the unit but most. All the buttons. Switches& knobs work exactly as they should. This is a nice clean unit and it comes with a photo copy MANUAL and 30+ pages of EXTRA TUBE DATA WITH INSTRUCTIONS on how to test them for the Jackson 715. The copies are what was sent to the owners of these testers for upgrade tube information. The onboard reel offers 100's of different tubes as well. There is even a pic of the inside of the unit. Something was rolling around inside so I took it apart to see what it was and it was just a nut that came loose that holds the tube data sheet in place. 800x600 This is a model 539C transconductance tube tester made by Hickok. It is in very good to excellent condition. I tested some tubes on this and it appears to work fine. Notice the EL34. 6L6G, and 12AX7, tube under a test. Includes grid/ plate clip lead, and original manual with tube setting data. Serial number is 29200870. The case is in good condition with a few scuffmarks. Front panel looks very good and has only a few scratches. I cannot guarantee this unit is calibrated, and will probably need some calibration, due to age. All meters and switches work. Hickok 546 Tube Tester for Parts Only, Accessories and Original Manual Included
What once was a very nice tube tester. My inspection includes the following: I could not adjust the line voltage as the gauge did not respond at all to the adjustment. However the gauge did move when the switch was placed in resistance mode, so the gauge may still work. The 9 pin socket has been replaced by some strange blue socket- it is not original. The push buttons may or may not work the Gm button and the rectifier buttons stick. The transformer looks like it has been replaced with one that was larger than the original. The roll chart does work smoothly. All buttons and knobs appear to be original. Power chord has been replaced. This tester is sold as is for parts or not working. The panel and knobs are in very good shape. Both vacuum tubes tested strong. The accessories are in like new condition, not sure if they were ever used. This is a great estate find from upstate NY. It is a Hickok model 600A tube tester. It has the instruction manual and a roll chart. I don't have any tubes to test nor do I know anything about tube testers. I cannot verify the working condition of this tester because of my lack of knowledge. I do know that the light(as seen in the photo) does turn on although it does flicker very faintly. The chord is a little stiff and there are a couple rips in the rubber towards the plug. It measures 17" wide. 11" deep and 8" tall and is in a hard case that snaps closed. There is some wear to the red case, such as spots where the bare wood is showing through and one of the metal feet has pushed through the wood case. Up for auction is a vintage Knight tube tester It is a model KG 600 b. It is in good as found condition. Purchased from a recent garage sale. The previous owner told me it works. I have turned it on and it does work in that respect. I have not run tests on it. I know nothing at all about old electronics and I know even less about vacuum tubes. Also I have no tubes to test. The exterior or the case is dirty and dusty, but the inside is pretty clean. The lid/top of the case has the previous owners initial painted on. The manuals I have are all dated 1955 so it would be a good guess that this particular unit was made somewhere around that time. The manuals are a must and themselves are very difficult to find. I believe that its retail price then was somewhere around $1500, which was about the price of a new car, so not many were made and few would have ended up anywhere other than a lab. It does have a calibration potentiometer for the mains voltage and it has been calibrated. And some old resistors and capacitors replaced to ensure to be trouble free for years to come and can test almost every tube type. A 5R4 is being tested in the pictures for quality and filament continuity on both sections. The tester also has a noise test that uses a regular headphone jack(1/4 inch) and it works as well. That any tube is tested in the diode mode. It is a way to go, and I have found some that are working amazingly well, like for instance the Superior Instruments TV10 or TV11. They look so old fashioned, you would not give much for it. However they have all modern sockets, even a subminiature socket. They have a quite complete roll chart, plus a calibration potentiometer for the mains voltage. The rectifier for the meter is a tube with the TV10, and solid state for the TV11. It means you have to pay some attention to the TV10's and TV11 rectifier circuit, which measures the mains voltage. The TV10 and TV11 separate the bad tubes from the good ones in a reliable way, and leakage test is working very good. lamp must go one below 300.400k Ohms) The wooden case is solid oak wood, which can be restored very nice. No interference at all. Tester does power up. I tested 5Y3 and 12ax7 tubes and result was just as good as my calibrated Jackson 648S tester. However. I never got a chance(time) to go thru with any major check up. Vintage Eico 625 Tube Tester with Manual and Original Documents. It has not been fully tested but I tried to test it as much as possible with some of the tubes I had and it appeared to work. Therefore it is being sold as is but I do think it works but no guarantees. The Meter is clear and has No cracks. This piece does show some age and wear and probably could use a cleaning. This comes only with the items shown in pictures. I believe all parts are there but they may not be. Comes with the original Manual and an additional roll chart. The first top section of the chart is pretty fragile and holey though. Also comes with a folder with the tube chart supplements for model 625–07. And interchangeability charts. the original instruction manual is taped to the inside last page of this folder. However, no warranty or returns on electrical stuff! Unit has not been professionally calibrated to my knowledge. Unit and case are average cosmetically and could use a good scrubbing, look closely at the pics. Handle, hinges, and latch work. Has a manual included to show settings for tube values and operating instructions. This is a later model tester and will test most vacuum tubes.
