As pictured. Up for auction is this Vintage Mercury Model 1100 Portable Tube Tester. Used for Diagnostic testing of vacuum tubes from old Radios. TV's, Amp's. Came out of the estate of an old electrician who also moonlighted as a TV repair guy. First and foremeost, I know virtually nothing about vacuum tubes from vintage devices, let alone testing them. There is no manual included with tester. I only had one old radio in the house. So I removed the tube, plugged it into a tube port that fit the pin profile. turned the unit on, and flipped a couple dials til I got it to light. So, there is functionality. very possibly fully functional, but there's no way for me to demonstrate that, or warrant it. I attached a YouTube Video so you can see the unit in action. I shot it in the dark so you can see the glow from the tube. I tried several different tubes I had on hand– some testing good and some not– and this Mercury 1100 Tube tester matched my main unit tube for tube. I’ll include the tube shown in the pictures so you can test the tester right away. The size is a real plus. It’s nice and compact at 10½”x8x3½” It comes with the original instruction manual and the tube chart– even the original warranty card and the extended tube data service card is still with it! The mechanical systems(switches. Knobs, etc. work fine. The short detector light works fine too.
