Hickok Model 539C Transconductance Tube Tester with Original User Manual
800x600 This is a model 539C transconductance tube tester made by Hickok. It is in very good to excellent condition. I tested some tubes on this and it appears to work fine. Notice the EL34. 6L6G, and 12AX7, tube under a test. Includes grid/ plate clip lead, and original manual with tube setting data. Serial number is 29200870. The case is in good condition with a few scuffmarks. Front panel looks very good and has only a few scratches. I cannot guarantee this unit is calibrated, and will probably need some calibration, due to age. All meters and switches work. Hickok 539C the best Hickok ever made! some say the best tube tester ever! This one looks remarkably clean for its age. I tested a 6L6 with it as shown in the photo and it appears to work great. However I will state. this is a 50 year old tester and I did not test every function. sold as-is. Has a N.I.S.T. Calibration sticker from Tucker Electronics a well respected Calibration house dated 1993! you don't see that on these too often! Looking inside there is one capacitor that has obviously been replaced. and it is missing a couple of screws. Give it a little clean up and this baby would shine! $50 fedex ground shipping

This is one of the best Tube Testers ever made. And the C being the last of the 539 series, it is the Best of the Best. Hickok officially sold the 539C from 1962 to 1968 for $545. This was one of the last Tube Testers Hickok sold, and unofficially it was sold into the 1970s. This one is in nice used condition with a few scrapes and nicks on the outside of the cabinet. ... moreYou can make it look new if you want to buff it up with black shoe polish, but I’ll leave that up to you. The interior panel is excellent, showing very little sign of use. This large 19” x 17” x 8” tester has 14 sockets and covers 4 pin, 5 pin, 6 pin, 7 pin, octal, loctal, 7 pin miniature, 9 pin miniature, 10 pin, 12 pin, and 4 smaller sockets for nuvistors and subminiature tubes. It has tube socket savers in the octal, and 7 pin miniature sockets. This is serial# 323 00355, and has a ITT Telecommunications tag with 73 17 01 stamped on it. I took this to my Tech friend Tom, and he replaced the 3 electrolytic capacitors, and tested it out. This should be ready for years of use.
