I acquired these from a lady whose father had been a Radio/ TV Repairman in Ohio back in the 1940's& ... more50's. These were his personal testers and were in working order when they moved here to Florida in the late 1950's and they have been sitting in her garage ever since then. I do not know how to operate or test them so being sold as is and untested. Please ask questions and I will do my best to answer them. For your Bidding consideration in this Auction is a Vintage HICKOK MODEL 600-A Dynamic Mutual Conductance Tube Tester accompanied by a Hickok CRT-1 Adapter in the original Box. It Measures 17" X 11" X 8" Cosmetically. It appears in very nice condition, some light surface rust ina fw spots but no dings or damage. The case is complete and has normal age related wear. The Adapter aslo appears in good condition, the red electric cord has a small split causing the cloth around the wire inside to be exposed but not the wire itself. The Adapter Box is very fragile and was in pieces when I got it. As shown, I have taped it all back together and, while not cosmetically appealing, it is now functional. There is some paper work with the Adapter(see Photo) and a plastic Instruction Manual Card. There is also an original Instruction Manula for the 600-A Tester, a Guarnbatee Certicficate and a Tube Data Sheet. Shipping weight estimate is 21 pounds. I'm selling my B&K 466 CRT tester. I*FINALLY* picked up a Sencore CR-70 so I don't need this one anymore. Unit functions well, tests B&W and color CRT's with the supplied adapters. I don't have a universal adapter for it, but it does have the one to test 70-degree round color tubes(21" roundies) and a few others. I only used it for 21" tubes, and have not used the rejuve feature so I can't verify that part of it works. I was warned away from using it, as it's capacitive discharge can actually kill a tube if you aren't careful. That's why I only used it to read emission, to see if a tube was good. Hickok 533 Vacuum Tube Tester W/ Crt Adapter
I do not know how well this tester is calibrated etc. However. It turns on, and the one 12ay7 tube I had to test it with that i knew was good showed as such.Needle moves when button is pushed. The reel with all the tube names and properties Is completely legible and rolls properly. Main and"Short" Fuses appear to work, was unable to figure out how to test the bias fuse, but it isnt obviously blown. The 9 pin socket I tested the 12ay7 appears to be worn, as the tube only lights up when not entirely seated on the socket and feels loose when put in. I am unable to test the other sockets. Cosmetically, In my opinion it appears to be in pretty great shape, but my vintage electronics knowledge base is layman at best. I have 2 HICKOK TESTERS I will be listing tonight. I acquired these from a lady whose father had been a Radio/ TV Repairman in Ohio back in the 1940's& 50's. These were his personal testers and were in working order when they moved here to Florida in the late 1950's and they have been sitting in her garage ever since then. The Adapter aslo appears in good condition, the red electric cord has a small split causing the cloth around the wire inside to be exposed but not the wire itself. The Adapter Box is very fragile and was in pieces when I got it. As shown, I have taped it all back together and, while not cosmetically appealing, it is now functional. It comes with several parts that plug into one another. One is called a color gun with red, green and blue and you turn the dial to the desired color. Guessing that is for the color tubes? There is another gadget that plugs into that and the side of the bakelite is broken but wires are intact. It appears to reduce down to a smaller tube size, guessing that is B&W? I plugged this in and it lit up and that is all I know how to do with it. It does come with a manual that says"The most complete picture tube tester available for TV service technicians.
