Tube tester precision apparatus audio stereo guitar amp hi-fi model 612
This tube tester is in decent condition for it's age. I tried it with several different tubes and it appears to work correctly. I did not try every socket and would assume the switches could use cleaning. There are five paper rolls beside the one in the machine. there is also an ad from 1958 for the company and a letter dated 1972 checking for an update. The case has some deep scratches and the hinges are missing from the cover. The original foil tag is still on the handle as well. Thanks for looking.

We have sold all kinds of vintage items all over the world& have been doing so for nearly 15 years. We describe everything we sell as accurately as possible and will be happy to answer any questions you have before or after the sale. Up for sale here is a vintage Precision Model 612 tube and battery tester. The buy it now price on this is only $50. Look at what these sell for, this is a great bargain. This is in as found condition I have done no work on it and I am not really qualified to. My advice to any potential bidders on this item or ... moreany vintage electronic item like this is have a qualified professional replace out of spec caps and resistors before you put this into regular service. These are very simple devices that will last a long time if properly maintained. I did replace the faceplate screws because some of the originals were missing and others were chewed up so I replaced them and the replacements look great. I powered this up and tested a 12ax7. 5U4 and 6SN7 that had already been tested on my professionally calibrated tube testers and found this tester to generally be in agreement with my testers. In order for this tester to be put into regular service it needs the sockets cleaned as well as the contacts on the switches& the potentiometers could use some Deoxit. The roll chart works fine and doesn't slip or bind but the plastic cover is yellowed and it can be tough to see the setup info. There is no manual but there is a supplemental chart included. There is a split in one side of the wooden case but overall the case is solid. This is a nice little tester for either parts or restoration.

Both latches work sufficiently, and all knobs and levers seem to work as should, but the end of the plug in has been removed(chewed through by mice perhaps? and it will need to be replaced to see if the machine works.
