Western Electric KS-15560-L1 Tube Tester Hickok 539 Slightly Used
This is a Western Electric model KS-15560-L1 tube tester. This is made by Hickok for Western Electric. It is similar to the Hickok model 539. This has been in storage for many years. It is in like new condition with very little use. I have tried testing some tubes on this and it seems to be in good operating condition. The handle has a chip by the hinge and that hinge is loose on the case. One of the cover latches will not latch. There is some very small dings and scratches on cover. The roll chart will not roll to upper and lower ends. This can be easily fixed be removing it and re-rolling it. This is the nicest one of these tube testers that I have ever seen. Most show signs of use. I do not have the manual or any paperwork for this.

HICKOK CA-4 Compactron adaptor for 539-B
Offered is a HICKOK brand CA-4 compactron adaptor with manual and data settings for the 539B tester. This adaptor will let you test compactron tubes with your 539B tester. It has both 9 and 12 pin compactron sockets in addition to 9 pin mini and Nuvistor sockets. The manual/data sheet booklet that comes with it gives you instructions on how the set-up works. Test data appears to be fairly limited. I see settings for 6C10. 6D10, 6K11, 7868, and only one useful sweep tube setting for 6JS6C. Perhaps the roll chart on the 539B gives you the set-up for the other sweep tubes and the booklet adds info for ones not on the chart. I am not sure. In any event, this unit is complete and appears to be in good cosmetic condition. Untested. Shipping is extra.

Vintage Hickok 539C 539-C Mutual Conductance Tube Tester - Mint w/ Manuals
This tester came out of a large private collection auctioned off at an estate sale. The tester is in very fine condition- inside is mint- bottom of case has a few scratches( see picture) We ran a few tests straight out of the manual and afterwards duplicated the test seen on YouTube entitled: how to test a 6dj8 with a hickok tube tester. All tests worked with multiple tubes all gauges worked perfectly- no bad switches cracks or blemishes- doesn't get any better than this. It comes with instruction manual. This listing is for a Hickok tube tester model 539B. I acquired it from a friend and don't know where it came from before that. the unit powers up and has no glaring damage outside of the crack in the vinyl covering the outside of the lid. As i have no working knowledge of tube testing so I am selling the unit as is. There were an assortment of 15 or so tubes in the case when I got it that I will include with the tester. This is a Hickok 539 Tube Tester Meter. Not sure which model it came from, A, B or C. I'm selling this as is. It works and the needle moves freely but it should be checked and calibrated. Overall it's in really great condition the glass is clean and clear, the black casing is a few minor surface scratches on it but looks nice and shiny. Hickok 539-A / 539A Tube Tester - serviced and calibrated
Hickok 539-A Tube Tester calibrated This Tube tester was serviced with new resistors. Caps and complete adjustments for correct signal levels and meter bridge setting etc. I also replaced the 83 Rectifier Tube with Solid state replacement to reduce the load on the transformer. 539 A is the earlier version of 539B/C and has almost the same features like Self bias terminals and Plate Current Measuring terminals etc. Also signal level can be switched unlike entry level 600 A or 800A versions. This model can be a versatile Hickok like 539B or C without fancy price. Plate Voltage. Screen, Grid Bias and Grid Signal levels were checked after adjustments. also the Meter bridge was adjusted for correct meter reading for Micromho based on Daniel Schoo 539 C calibration method on all ranges. I also checked a known calibration sample 6L6 for correct ... morereading along with few 12AX7 tubes. All are showing correct reading. I also use Brent Jesse Recording Sample calibration 6L6 tube for checking this tester. Few points to note. This tester will not be shipped overseas due to fragile as well as size of the tester. The wood was the original 539 A box but the covering was really not worthy of this tester when I got it. So I removed the decayed covering. The wood box is not of great quality( as Hickok boxes were meant to have the covering to make it look better than bare wooden box. The buyer can get it covered using Tolex or suitable material. I had done such a work on 800 A model and can guide the buyer if he wishes to do on his own. This tester is over 50 year old and hence the top looks its age. However I had replaced the power cable with 3 pronged safety 3 wire power cabling. The earth is connected to the top Metal plate to avoid issues with power input. Serial# 29200124. This came from a working tech bench of a private estate and is in amazing condition. By far one of the nicest and cleanest 539-C's I have had. The interior is stunning. The roll chart moves freely and the window lens is crystal clear. The meter face is spotless. The exterior has only a few scuffs as shown. It tests tubes very accurately when compared to my other Calibrated TV-7& TV-3. It was recently calibrated by Kara Chaffee at tubewizard.com and comes with a full calibration diagnostics sheet.
