Lafayette Tube Tester Model TE-15 + Tube Chart - Operating Instructions & case
This is a classic Lafayette Tube tester Model TE-15. It includes the instruction booklet. Tube chart and its vinyl plastic carrying case. The checker lights up as shown in photo attached. It has two issues, one is a crack on the meter lens but no piece is missing. It also has half the alligator clamp missing from the tube top connector, easy to replace with standard clamp. Both of these issues are shown clearly in the attached photos. Item looks great appearance wise and has both manuals tucked away in the drawer at the bottom. Here is a vintage Lafayette Tube Tester Model TE-15. This tester appears to be in working condition. I found an old tube and plugged the tester in. I put the tube in the correct position and followed the instructions in the book. The tube lit up. The red light came on when I moved the some of the switches which indicated there was a leak. I then tested the quality which the needle on the gauge pointed to"Replace" This tester comes with the operating instructions. This tester has been sitting around in a garage for a long time and needs a major cleaning. There are scratches and some surface rust. The"Load" knob is broken. I'm not sure about the wire that goes to the clip that hooks to the top of some tubes. It looks ok but I'm not sure. Some of the rubber that surrounds the clip is torn and missing. There is a plastic ... moreclip in the tray the holds the manual that is broken. I do not know anything about this. Even though I did try this tester. This item is a Lafayette Radio Model TE-15 Portable Tube Tester. The item includes a little drawer with tube data inside. And a plastic/leatherette carry case. This thing has got to be one of the cutest little tube testers ever made! And. This one works. see photo above with a successful test of a 6AV5. The meter on the tester is scratched and crazed, but works fine. The tube chart has been stuffed into its storage drawer-not a well thought-out design-so is wrinkled a bit, but it appears to be all there. LAFAYETTE TE-15 TUBE TESTER FOR REPAIR
A Lafayette TE-15 tube tester in excellent cosmetic condition but the meter is broken. Coil is good but there is a mechanical problem and I don't think it can be fixed unless you have a mechanical watch repair shop. It seems that everything else works and just the meter needs to be replaced. Inside it is pristine condition and the tester is overall very well made. Sturdy metal case, etc. I have the manual and tube chart in pdf and I can email to the winner of the auction. The power plug is chipped also and will need to be replaced for safety.
