I have some knowledge of how to test tubes but I am not an exp ert. Therefore. The tester is being auctioned" As-Is" I t looks to be all complete except for a screw missing under the" Range" knob. The paper roll sights are a little opaque but did come a little clearer when I wiped them. The paper roll does move but it's a little wrinkled as if it getting caught but it's not torn. Here is a nice vintage Knight Kit KG-600C Tube Tester. Made by Allied Radio Corp of Chicago Illinois USA made back in 1969. The Tester was found with the original assembly manual and tube chart, is in used very good condition with some wear as pictured, and 1 of the knobs does not tightened up on the shaft and the rubber on the clip for the connecting the top metal of the tube has dried out. The tube tester was plugged in and lights up, meter adjusts, all controls appear to work, the tube chart spins properly and I tested a few tubes and the tester appears to work, but may need to be adjusted. The Case shows some wear with the handle is broken as pictured, is missing 2 feet, but both latches work properly. I tested this unit with a good and bad 12AX7 and 6L6 tube. The good 12AX7 tested good and the shorted 12AX7 tested shorted. The good 6L6 tested weaker than it should have so I tried another one with the same results. They both tested just in the green but test strong on my Hickok 539C. Not sure what is going on there and I don't know if it could be adjusted. The shorted 6L6 tested shorted. I also tried a 6Y6 and it tested weaker than it should also. So what you see is what you get. The Model 85 Superior Instruments Company. SICO, is a dynamic tube tester. It is considered to be a step above an emission tester. This unit was fixed and fully tested including all sockets(even the sub-miniature type) indicators, switches and controls. This tester is fully working and does as good a job of testing tubes as when it was new. The cabinet is solid but has seen plenty of use through the decades. The exterior hardware is tarnished but solid. The handle is good. The case shows wear but again is solid. There are some ink marks and paint splatter on the cover. I think overall the condition of the case is decent. The panel is in very good condition. The meter lens has a few small cracks. But is readily readable. The switches and controls work well. Up for sale is a working B&K Dyna Jet 607 Tube Tester. This unit is B&K's clone of the Sencore Mighty Might VII(TC162) You can see an excellent write-up of this unit at TubeSound's website: Overall. This tester is in decent condition and works. The lid has a crack in one of the corners and the case has seen some use. The case is a hard plastic and has held up well. For details of overall condition, please see the pictures. I tested a few tubes- 6A8, 6L6, 6BQ5(EL84) 6CA7(EL34) 6AU6, 6BZ6 and 6JM6. The unit worked for all of these tube types. I posted pictures of some of these tests. The lockout switches and all controls work as they should. I did not extensively test all sockets and settings because there's just too many. Everything I tested worked. I checked the calibration of the short and grid leakage circuits and they ... morewere right on spec. The meter has some cracks but works and is easy to read. The short and power lights work. The leakage and quality tests worked for all the tubes I tested. The grid clip is a new replacement, not original. Included with the tester is an original Setup Guide which is in good shape and very legible. And a bound copy of the Instruction Manual. The manual includes a calibration procedure, parts list and schematic. The schematic is hard to read. I guarantee this tester to be working(not DOA) The Short and Leakage readings are accurate. Here for considering is a vintage Hickok Model 752 Tube Tester. This tester comes with its original manual. And the accessories that were left in the rear storage compartment of the case. I am offering this as-is, because I am not sure if it is fully functional. It does power up, and I did a line test, and it does work as well(photo 3) All the knobs and buttons do function properly. The roll chart is present, and there are no issues with it. It does scroll up and down, with no problems. The tubes that are with the other accessories are untested, so I am not sure if they are good or not. But they came with this, and will stay with it, if sold. Overall, this is in cosmetically good shape. The metal protective corner pieces, latches, etc. do have surface rust. Latches and handle are intact, and do function properly. The case shows wear that ... moreis consistent with age and use, but still in pretty nice shape. Please look over the photos provided, for a better idea of what is being offered, and its condition. Vintage 1959 Century Fast Check Tube Tester. Very Cool. Vintage Tube Tester from CENTURY Electronics(Mineola New York) Comes in hardwood case with original manual. Manuel indicates it is from 1959. I Believe it is Model Number FC2 from my research, but I am not 100% sure. This Tube tester is Untested(as I have no way to test it) but it has been plugged in. And it powers up. Only condition issue I could find is that the selector knob appears to be stuck, with some skill it can likely be taken off and unstuck. As indicated above. It powers on, but is otherwise untested- selector knob is stuck. See the pictures for better details. I can accept returns. But the buyer has to pay for all shipping costs in both directions. Here is a great copy of a B&K Dyna-Jet Dynamic Mutual Conductance tube tester Instruction Manual and Tube Setup Chart. This has been spiral bound so you can lay it flat and wide open. There is no highlighting or writing on the manual and all pages are firmly attached and no folds or dog eared corners. The only thing I saw looking through is a small stain spot appears on the bottom of the pages- coffee spill? The last photo shows it well. Superior Instruments Model TV-11 Tube Tester.Ca.1955 Case,manual.radio,TV tubes?
Bought two vintage tube testers from the son of the original owner. Said he kept these around enough years. Selling these and a couple vintage floor radios that has been in his family since he was small. This is a Superior Instruments of White Plains.NY model TV-11. The fellow I bought it from said he is sure it works and that his father ran a radio repair shop someplace. I do not know how to test this. I plugged it in. When I turn the power switch to on the needle goes to the center of the guage( shown in pictures) If I turn the line adj. knob the needle does move a bit as I assume it should. I don't know how to test this in any fashion. There is an old Delco Electron tube in a small box which will be included. The cord looks OK and certainly works. Does have the original manual( dated 1955 on the front in a date on the wiring revision ... moresheet in back) There is another"questions and answers" book by Superior that say for Model TC-55 and TD-55 but someone has written in pen that also for TV-11 for what that is worth. The rolling chart at the bottom seems to roll but it is quite sticky(turns hard) and should be cleaned to turn smoothly but it is probably complete. Did not disassemble unit. Case is pretty good shape in general but does have quite a few scratches and would need refinishing if one is concerned about such things. I am selling this unit AS IS.this means no returns or refunds. Please. I will start the bidding at $.99 so please only pay what you think it is worth in its present"not fully serviced" condition. I try hard to not sell junk and my feedback is good. Shipping will have to be based on 15lb. from Florida zip 34608.
