Heathkit Checker TC-1 Vacuum Tube Tester This tester is in relatively good condition but is in a state of disrepair. The reference scroll chart has come undone from one spool. The electrode lead has many cracks in the covering and one of the toggle switch knobs is missing.see photos) The unit powers up and will give a clear reading but how accurate it is is unknown. Heathkit IT-21 Tube Tester - Checker from an Estate - No Reserve
This Heathkit IT-21 Tube Tester- Checker is from an estate so we don't know about its history. But appears to be in pretty good condition. It really only needs to be cleaned up a bit, but we will leave that to the new owner. The knobs all turn freely and the levers all move securely into their three detent positions. Regardless of it they have a knob or not. The thumb-wheel on the right moves the tube selector drum. But we don't know what the thumb-wheel on the left is supposed to do. The area in front of the tube selector drum is open. But we don't know if is supposed to be open or not. We powered it up and the panel lights illuminate. And as seen in the photo, the meter needle centers on the scale for Line Test. We have no tubes to test it with, so it is being sold as is, untested. Lafayette Tube & Transistor Tester + Manual; Calibrated, Tested, Working Checker
Here is a nice and fully working Lafayette Tube and Transistor Tester. I repaired and calibrated this unit. Then I used it to test some tubes and transistors. It is fully working. Even the bipolar transistor test function works great. All the switches and controls work well and the sockets are good. This tester comes complete with a copy of the manual and test charts so you will be able to use this unit to test your tubes and transistors. This emission tube checker will test a large number of tube types. Here is a short list of rock tubes people need to test nowadays: 6CA7(EL34) 6L6, 6BQ5(EL84) all the 12A_7 family(12AX7, 12AT7, 12AU7, etc. ECC8_ just like the 12A_7) and many, many others. This checker has the following sockets: Large base tubes: 8-pin octal& loctal. Miniatures: 7. 9, 9+1, 10(Not many testers can handle the 9+1 or 10-pin ... moretubes. Novars(bigger 9-pin tubes) Compactrons(bigger 12-pin tubes) I tested all of the above tubes with this tester except the Decal and the 9+1 10-pin miniatures because I don't have those tubes. I checked the socket wiring for these tubes and it looks good so I think they will work as well. The manual has a lot of tubes in the charts and good instructions for testing them. But nothing about how to use the transistor testor. I added a page to the manual that gives instructions on how to test transistors. Also in the manual is the schematic which will help you maintain the proper operation and accuracy of this tester. This tube tester is a newer compact. Counter top style instrument. It's light and small so you can easily get it down from the shelf when you need to test some tubes. As you can see from the pictures, this unit is in good condition. I found two chips in the case that are shown in the pictures. Other than that, the case is made out of Bakelite so unless you manage to crack it or chip it, it's almost indestructible. What's important is that it has sockets for 9-pin Novar& 12 pin Compactron tubes so it will test a lot of tube types. Here's the list: Large base tubes: 4. 5, 6, 7& 8(octal) pin tubes. Miniatures: 7. 9& 9+1(Not many testers can handle the 9+1, 10-pin tubes. Loctals. Novars. Compactrons. Nuvistors. I tested all of the above tubes with this tester except the Nuvistors and the 9+1 miniatures. I checked the socket wiring for these tubes and it looks good so I think they will work as well. The test data included in this manual is as complete as I've seen. The roll chart works well. All the switches and controls work well and the sockets are good. This tube tester is the portable style as opposed to a bench instrument. That means it has a closing case with a handle that you can take with you on service calls. You probably won't be doing much of that. But it's still nice to have the closing case because this tester stores much better. As you can see from the pictures, this unit is in good condition. The case has some wear and a gouge on the bottom. The handle, hinges and latches are good. The exterior hardware has some rust. The faceplate shows normal wear but not very much. Hickok 6000A Tube Tester/Checker Works Well and Nice
This is a working Hickok 6000A Tube tester. It's in pretty nice condition overall. Outside has the usual scrapes and tears, inside has far less blemishes. The meter lens is cracked as seen in pics but does not interfere with operation and looks worse in the pic than in person, the grid cap lead has a chip out of the side but works as it should. The handle was broken but repaired with a super strong aircraft glue and is holding solid, at the same time I reinforced the inside of the box with aircraft glue and it is nice and solid. The corners have loose fabric that will probably glue down nicely but I don't have glue to suit that purpose. I did check the calibration and everything is within factory specs according to sources online. I do not have a manual for this tube tester but it can be downloaded for free on the web. I do have a ... moreprinted copy of the updated tube chart that are not listed on the roll. The roll chart works well but does get tight near the ends. If you are not familiar with these tube testers I highly recommend that you download a free copy online; this tester will probably do far more testing than you think. This is the actual item you will receive it has NO battery or bulb and I do not know if its working or not I have no way of testing this item. The back panel inside has summary of item some of it has; A No. 532 Burgess 4 1/2 volt battery or equivalent to operate. Use only a No. 48 bulb when replacement is needed. George Kaye Audio Labs Small signal tube checker Extremely rare audiophile grade small signal tube tester. This is a really cool unit that not only allows you to match preamp tubes for gain and output. But also to audio test them for microphonics using headphones or the built in speaker; even a scope output to see the tube's actual wave! You can even hook up a signal generator or music source to the input and listen to/see the tube's response. It is in good cosmetic shape considering the age of the unit. Some scratches. This tester does preform all the tests. And functions in all positions. I have noticed the high gain microphonic test to be very sensitive. Some tubes that would work in most amp positions seem exhibit some microphonic tendencies in this circuit. It could need some adjustment. Or it might be perfectly fine. Maybe that's ... morewhat makes this tester such a good mousetrap for tube screening! I am listing and selling it for use as is. With no reserve and no returns since I don't have any way of ensuring that it is 100% calibrated after all these years though all the basic functions do seem to work. This tester will check 4.5,6,7, 8, 9 pin tubes.It will also check acorn type tubes.This unit will not test 10& 12 pin sweep tubes, way too old for those types. It comes with a paper book type tube chart& also plate cap lead for testing tubes with a top plate cap.There is also an 8 pin with guide pin to 8 pin with no guide pin adapter.Not sure what kind of tubes those are. But it comes with it anyway. The meter looks great with no cracks found.The power cord is in very good shape as well. Up for auction is a Sencore TC28 Hybrider Tube& Transistor tester. It is in like new condition& comes with the original box& paperwork. It has been checked for calibration using the sencore calibration module and no adjustment was needed it was spot on and I tested several tubes including 12AX7 5U4G 6L6 EL84 6550 6JS6C 8950 6LQ6 6SN7GT and several others with excellent results. The sockets are just like new clean& tight and all knobs and switches are smooth and function as the should. The outer case is free of scratches. Scuffs or rust. It has the test setting book attached to the inner lid and it is loaded with tube data& is in mint shape. This is the nicest Sencore I have ever came across and I have had several. Precision Apparatus Tube Tester Checker Model 912 in wooden case vintage tested
Here is a vintage Precision Apparatus model 912 tube tester in working condition and very good physical shape with two supplementary tube data chart booklets and one nine-pin adapter. Works as shown in last picture testing a good 6GN8 tube. Wood case finish shows wear. But case is still solid. Both latches, handle and power cord in good shape.
