Power House Tube Checker - Continuity Tester / C-B-C Electronics Co., Inc.
This tube checker- continuity tester is from the 1960's era and was manufactured by C-B-C Electronics Co. Inc. Philadelphia, Pa. This unit will test 7 pin, 9 pin, octal, and loctal vacuum tubes along with having a continuity tester leads(red wires) This item seems to be operational as after plugging it in the"red" leads were touched together and the neon indicator lit. The hard plastic case/ cover has no cracks with only some scaring marks on the inside of the unit cover. There is no corrosion in any of the vacuum tube pin inserts(best way to describe) and the electrical cord- tester leads are very pliable with no cracking. For sale is a HEATHKIT TC- 1 Tube Tester. This unit is working and is in overall good condition. As you can see in the first picture i am testing a known good 12AU7 tube. This tester is pretty clean couple blemishes and small dent but nothing seems to be effecting the use of the machine. The units roll chart does work(slightly sticky as most are) The unti tests everything from small 7 pins to the large old 4 pin tubes. Pushed the test button and nothing, the filaments are not lighting up. Tried another tube and the same thing. So, either I have the wrong card, or the filament circuit is not working. Great vintage tube checker that works! I was able to test a few tubes on it. I got this from an estate sale where they were selling old radios. Tubes and such. The original operating instructions and tube chart were a bit worn out.but i was able to find a copy online and have included a printed copy. The GE Tube Checker. TC-3A, is an emission type tube checker. Tubes are tested for quality by a test wherein the grid is placed at cathode potential while the screen is placed at a lower potential then the plate. Unbuilt vacuum tube tester kit - Knight 600 tube checker
You are bidding on a very rare find. This is a Knight 600 tube tester. Which was purchased, but never built. This tester is a time capsule of times gone by. The condition is excellent. There are some imperfections in the paint of the main tester panel. Which I believe are from the factory. If you are really picky you will see some fine rub marks on the main tester panel, probably from the cardboard it was packed in. The main panel will be packed in bubble wrap to prevent further rubbing. Please check the pictures carefully. Everything shown in the pictures is included in this sale(tester case. Here is a very nice B&K tester. Just like one of the ones I use every day. This one is very nice cosmetically and doesn't show much sign of wear. I checked several tubes of different types and the parameters came up very close to mine. It has two books with it in addition to the tube checking chart. One book shows how it works and how to use it and the other is an owner's that includes a schematic. I always tell people who buy these things to clean the control and the switches. That's about all that goes wrong with them under normal usage. This checker weighs 18 pounds and will go in a box that is 20 inches by 20 inches by 12 inches. Up for bid is this nice looking clean Heathkit TC-2 tube checker. This is going to sell as is because I have no way to fully test this. The light comes on when you turn it on and the needle moves when you turn the Set Line Knob and that's as far I can test this. The red wire coating is cracked and the plastic cover over the needle is scuffed and cracked. Other than that this looks good. There are some instruction papers that are chewed up, there is a Brochure book for 1958 Heathkits. There are three fold out papers with diagrams on them. Untitled Document When it comes to tube checkers Heathkit has to be one of the go to names. I have tested this with a number of tubes. Including 12AX7s and it reads correct every time. That being said this little unit can do a lot of tests on a lot of different tubes and I have only tried a couple. The good news is that mechanically everything appears to be in good shape. When testing the switches and knobs all of the detents are crisp. The only obvious flaw is that two of the knobs on the switches on the bottom are missing and there are cracks in the insulation of the tube wire. The scrolling tube chart is complete and readable but there is some yellowing of the paper. Fortunately, because this unit was so iconic there is a lot of info available on them including schematics. This tube tester works GREAT! It's a Heathkit TC-3 and like the TC-1 and TC-2. This model has been a work horse. This one has been sitting in my ham shack for many years looking a little forlorn. It needs a new happy home! I have included the tubes that I had on hand. I was going to make a spreadsheet and test all of the tubes and after about 10 tests. I gave up on that idea. If you want the tubes, have at them! All 10 of the ones I tested were in good shape but that does not mean all of them are. I suspect most of them are in good working order, though. This listing is for a fully working. Repaired, calibrated and tested, vintage tube tester. It's the model 625 made by EICO. It comes complete with a bound and printed copy of the manual. The manual is not original. Included in the manual are the instructions. Schematic, construction book, tube supplements, and tube chart for obsolete tubes. The manual is complete an not missing any pages. The tester itself has the 625-06 roll chart which is one of the more recent editions. The roll chart works well. There is one small, hard to see tear near the end that was fixed with magic transparent tape. All the switches and controls work well and the sockets are good. As you can see from the pictures. This unit is in good condition. The case paint has some chips and the faceplate shows normal wear. The hardware inside the case is all good. This tester ... morewas brought back from the dead, calibrated and tested. For calibration, precision resistors were installed in the tube"MERIT" circuit. The meter bezel is chipped in the top left corner and can be seen in one of the pictures. I cracked the bezel while replacing the meter movement. I have another 625 which has been my bench tester since the 70s. I always keep it maintained and calibrated. I did comparison tests between the two testers for each of the"SELECTOR" tube current) settings. Here's what I got: Tube: 1R5. Selector: 1. For Sale Tester: 1000. Bench Tester: 94.0. Tube: 12AU7.
