Heathkit Tube Tester. Model# TC-2. Works great. Comes with copies of assembling and instruction manual, supplement test data sheets and test data for seldom used tubes. Also has a built in roll chart for tube test set up. Test sockets for 4, 5, 6, 7 pin early type tubes, 8 pin octal and loctal tubes and 7, 9 pin miniature tubes. All switches, controls and sockets were cleaned. Circuit capacitors and some resistors were replaced, newer roll chart window. Good power cord and grid cap lead. Great for testing audio, amplifier, stereo, hi/fi, radio and tv tubes. Shows some age. But is in overall very good condition. Very useful tester with a lot of great features!

I decided to list another one of my own tube testers that I acquired few years ago. I sold many testers lately. Just thinning my collection. Cosmetic conditions are great as you can see in pictures. Chart rolls smooth. May need to evened out at some point, but it works fine. Tester does power up, I tested 5Y3 and 12ax7 tube and result was just as good as my calibrated Jackson 648S tester. I didn't test other sockets. However. I never got a chance(time) to go thru with any major check up or calibration. I don't know when was the last calibration performed, so please assume it might be needed if you plan on using this HEATHKIT as your primary or secondary tester and you may also check ... morecaps and upgrade if necessary.Anyway, I don't need to tell you guys out there what to do when you get vintage piece of electronics. Military TV-2C/U Tube Tester TV-2 300B KT88 6L6 EL34 Must See
This is a very nice Military TV-2C/U tube tester made by Elion Instruments Inc. This is the cleanest TV-2C/U I have seen. And I have seen a lot. It is partially restored as noted below. It has not seen much use judging from the excellent condition. The TV-2C/U is the more modern of the TV-2 series and is built like a tank. Switches and controls are tight, snap into place, and are not worn out. It was purchased direct from the Military. Serial number is 91. I tested this set and it is working as seen from the photos. Notice the 6L6G, KT88, and 6L6 reference tube under a test. All meters are working and are not sticking. The bias, plate, screen, filament, etc, can be adjusted. The 6L6 reference was purchased from Daniel Nelson and tested 42 or 5250 uMohs. Notice the 6L6 reference tube tested 87% This is about 5220 uMohs(6000 x.87) This tester ... moreincludes spare fuses, a spare lamp, a spare 83 tube, and a spare 6X4W tube. The roll chart works very well. The TV-2C/U uses 2 transformers. One, for the filaments, and one for the plate, screen, etc. Actually this tester is not hard to use, once you get familiar with all the settings and meters. This will test 4, 5, 6, 7 prong, 7 pin, 9 pin, octal, loctal, acorn, sub min 7, sub min 8, sub min 8 long pin, and transmitting 7 pin tubes. I can email pdf files of the manual and tube settings if desired to the winning bidder. I can also email an excel spreadsheet with over 2400 tube settings. This will test the 300B, KT88 tubes, and thousands more. All filter capacitors have been replaced with new stock. All old carbon resistors were replaced with new and modern resistors. The plate and grid lead wires were replaced. I never drill holes and like to keep the chassis looking original. Tester may need some more checking out, adjusting, etc, due to age. I purchased this straight from the original owner a year or two ago. It is in amazing un-molested condition with the original documentation. I have printed an additional chart for tube test settings. The roller chart is intact and works. This unit is very easy to use once you get the hang of it. You just dial in the settings according to the different columns. The meters all respond and appear to be accurate. I have not performed a calibration as the unit appeared not to need one since I received it. The manual details the process of how to do this if ever necessary. You will notice that the meter reads percent quality instead of Gm. The face of the actual tester is very clean, with the only notable issue being a fine crack about 2" on the meter lens, along with some minor scuffing and scratches. Not as bad as it sounds, as the meter can still be read just fine. The meter is made by Simpson for Heathkit and works properly. The case shows normal wear and tear but still looks good and is structurally sound. Comes with all paperwork shown, along with an adapter for picture tubes. Vintage 1959 Century Fast Check Tube Tester. Very Cool. Vintage Tube Tester from CENTURY Electronics(Mineola New York) Comes in hardwood case with original manual. Manuel indicates it is from 1959. I Believe it is Model Number FC2 from my research, but I am not 100% sure. This Tube tester is Untested(as I have no way to test it) but it has been plugged in. And it powers up. Only condition issue I could find is that the selector knob appears to be stuck, with some skill it can likely be taken off and unstuck. As indicated above. Century Model FC-2 Tube Tester with Manual and Tube Charts in Original Wood Case. The CRT adapter is included. There are 2 tube charts and the original owners manual are included. The owners manual has some water damage. I know nothing about this tester. It did light up when plugged in. I thin the power switch/dial needs to be replaced it comes on in the off position and off in the on position. All other switches seem to work as they are supposed to. Tube tester is in its original carrying case as seen in the photos. The case is in nice shape and has normal wear on the surface. Could use a good cleaning. Tube tester works as it should and needs the red wire replaced(has a crack in it) Face is in great shape with no dents. No rust, no deep scratches, no cracks and all the lettering is in great shape. Available for sale is a Heathkit tube tester. Model TC-2. This is a popular model, as it can not only test most of the audio tubes being use today, but can also test tubes used in radio such as 811 and all Compactrons. Included with the tester is the original assembly/user manual. This unit is in fine physical condition for its age. The outer case looks great. With minimal damage on the red cloth. Typically, these are pretty torn up. The inside looks great, as I hope you can see in the pictures below. This unit was acquired from a local ham who is in the process of downsizing his extensive collection. It hasn't been used in quite some time. But I decided to test it out. I tested a 6L6GC that is known to be good, as I have tested it on my Hickok 539B. This tester showed it as low, which i know is not correct. Any ... moreelectronics for that matter. I purchased it in a lot at auction. I can tell you I plugged it in. The lights came on under the chart(picture 2) and the needle went to center. Well, almost center, in the yellow anyway, as shown in picture 9. The chart is a little off kilter. And when you roll it, it's not always even and dips and rises as you're turning it, and seems loose inside. Maybe there's an adjustment underneath to take up the slack? There is a cut/ splitting in the casing of the red wire in more than one spot. So that will need to be changed. There is a pretty good patina build up on some spots. It surely needs a good cleaning. There is also some cracking at the top of the clear"window" covering the needle as shown in picture 9. Nothing horrible. The case is pretty crappy. The covering is peeling all over and one corner is coming apart or has come apart and barely hanging together. Also. It's clearly been stored in a basement, so has that musty basement smell. It says"Hickok" on the plug and it is a 2 conductor non polarized type. Honesty. I wouldn't hesitate to use this cord on any of my stuff. Its not cracked and it is very soft the flexible. The cord is right around 7 feet long. It may be the finishing touch to that super expensive Hickok tester that has a replacement cord that just doesn't look correct. This is a TC-2. It is the same design as the TC-1. This was an early TC-2 and Heath changed the model number right on the panel. Both use the same tube data. There are many. Many websites will LOTS of info on these nice testers. Note: There is a space hole where you can add a new socket for say. A WD-11 tube or for others. The instruction manual(not included but readily available for free download online) tells how to set up the switches for new types of tubes. This makes it easy to use this to rejuvenate Thoriated Tungstun filament tubes. You just set the switch for filament voltage but no plate voltage. Most of these older tubes can be brought back to life this way and you can give them a higher filament voltage"shot" to get them going. I have another one of these I'm keeping. Here is an ugly duckling tube tester. It needs a meter cover but other than that it is complete. It does work but I'm sure it will need calibration etc. when I tested it the meter seemed to be jumpy also so you may want to check the rectifier tubes in it or the capacitors. Sencore Continental 2 (MU150) Dynamic Mutual Conductance tube tester
Sencore Continental 2(MU150) Dynamic Mutual Conductance tube tester works great and shows little signs of use. Original set-up book shows no wear at all and all sockets are original and all are good and tight. The MU150 is an unusual tube tester because it can measure the emission strength of the tube under test and also the Mutual Conductance(Gm) plus it has all the great features of other Sencore testers like super sensitive Grid Leakage Detection. Life Test, and Shorts Test! A few notes about how this tester works.besides giving a"Good" Bad" and" reading it also has a number scale which represents the% of the emission or Gm associated with the tube under test. Another important note is that the Shorts, Grid Leakage& Life tests are performed in the Emission Test mode and the Mutual Conductance(Gm) requires different ... moresettings just for it. To get the tester in top shape all the controls and switches were cleaned, all the electrolytic capacitors were replaced and the internal voltage regulator& meter amplifier tubes were tested. This auction is for a Heathkit TC-2 tube tester that has an open winding on the transformer. The winding is 30 Volt which is in series with the plate supply winding. This can be easily fixed by just using a small 28 to 30 V transformer in place of this winding. Everything else appears to OK. The line adjust works fine. See the scanned schematic.
