This is the Cylinder Gear(part#22152) Right Cylinder Mounting Bracket(my name for it, as it doesn't seem to be in the parts book) part#20152) and the Cylinder Stop Disc Assembly(part#23154A and most associated parts) The Gear has one chip on one tooth which can be seen in photo#3 as a bright flash. The stop disc had to be heated and hammered on the side to get it off. You will probably have to sweat it on. That is why there are hammer marks on the side of the disc, but it is only cosmetic and does not affect the operation. I will try to find the huge taper pin and two mounting bolts that go with these parts and include them later. All parts here are in good to very good condition. The press was completely refurbished around 1980 and was used pretty much continuously for the next 15 years. When I got the KSBA. The vertical was then used only sporadically until about 2003. After 2003, it was used virtually never, maybe 2- 5 jobs a year. There is some grease. Oil, and dried ink on the associated assemblies, but I cleaned them enough for you to see what good condition they are in. I lubricate my equipment very well because I am penurious. Oil is cheaper than repairs. If you want to see any other view, let me know and I will endeavor to post it asap. Insurance. Signature confirmation included in S/H. It has tow buttons for raising and lower the knee but by looking at the schematic inside of the cabinet door they are not set-up to be used, but we raised/lowered the knee manually by depressing the appropriate contactors, as seen in the video. I believe this to be a Sigwalt 4" x 6" Non Pareil. If there is a number or name I don't see it. The round base had me thinking a Golding but I found this in a printer's basement on the south side of Chicago. Home of Sigwalt. Light surface rust as shown. Handle moves easily and comes with the chase. Someone covered it in gold at one time. A restoration project to make it look pretty, but the pros on printing presses do rave about Sigwalts and many prefer them over Kelseys. Great looking vintage antique Kelsey 3" x 5" tabletop printing press for cards, postcards, letters. The piece dates to the latter part of the 1800s and has the appropriate look and patina. This is the smallest tabletop press that Kelsey made. It is missing a few parts, including some springs and a round ink plate. There may also be other parts not with the machine; I just don't know what is supposed to be with it. I will let those of you who know these pieces to assess its state and condition from the many photos. Letterpress Poster Press - Morgan Line-O-Scribe Model 1422
This is a Morgan Line-O-Scribe Sign Machine. Aka Poster Press. It has a type area of 14×22 inches. The press comes with a cabinet consisting of four parts: two type cabinets each holding 12 type drawers and 2 larger drawers, a bench and hood supported by the type cabinets, and a sliding rack that can support cases of type or other materials. The type drawers have movable dividers to accommodate any size type. No type is included. An assortment of steel furniture(spacing material) is included. The hood contains a fluorescent light. This machine could be used as a proof press. It could also be used. Rather tediously, for very low-volume letterpress production. I have even used it to print an engraving. Unfortunately, the pressure of the impression roller caused the copper engraving plate to curve upward; perhaps a plate that was securely ... moremounted to a wood block would not do that. The ink and impression rollers are in good shape. The ink rollers are intended for single-color printing. But using hand rollers you could apply different inks to different areas of the form and print more than one color in a pass. Disclosure: The sliding rack is meant to roll out over the press. But three of its four wheels are missing. Other than that, this machine is in good working condition. Dimensions are shown on one of the pictures. Weight is unknown. But the separate pieces can be moved fairly easily by two people(or with some difficulty by one)
