And it works a LOT better than the vertical. These are the two Transfer Table Holders that mount at the top center of the press and hold the Transfer Table when you want access to the Impression Cylinder. They are both part#21406. And there are 5 Round Head Machine Screws, parts#H-50860 and 5 washers. If I can find the other screw, I will include it, but these can mount and be used safely with two of the three screws if you put the two screws in the two farthest apart holes. All parts here are in very good condition. The press was completely refurbished around 1980 and was used pretty much continuously for the next 15 years. When I got the KSBA. The vertical was then used only sporadically until about 2003. After 2003, it was used virtually never, maybe 2- 5 jobs a year. There is some grease. Oil, and dried ink on the associated assemblies, but I cleaned them enough for you to see what good condition they are in. I lubricate my equipment very well because I am penurious. Oil is cheaper than repairs. If you want to see any other view, let me know and I will endeavor to post it asap. Insurance will only be provided if you demand it and pay $2.00 extra. Arts & Crafts Letterpress Oak Rolling Table / Cart w/ Cast Iron Top & Casters
Just discovered in an old printing building is this wonderful antique rolling cart/ table for one of those old letterpress! Oak base with cast iron top and casters- great Arts& Crafts look and great patina! It is held together by a bolt and screw method with exposed bolts. The cast iron top is made so that it cannot move once placed on the base. I tried to show this with the photos of the underside of the top. Condition: Just discovered in an old printing building. Nice used condtion, shows wear marks, nicks, scratches, dings, and dents from normal use. One caster has a chip off the corner and one leg shows some damage- see photos(I did not want to remove the added-on wood shelf holders, they are only nailed in, the new buyer can remove if they chose to) Measures approx. 40" high. VTG/Antique PRINTING PRESS 4x6 Table Top SIGWALT Victorian Decals 19th C +EXTRAS
Up for bid is the vintage/antique PRINTING PRESS with TONS OF EXTRAS/ BONUS PRINTING ITEMS/SUPPLIES. As seen in the pictures/ as described in the title. This is my first press find. I know little about it. Other than the missing roller(s) it looks to be complete and fully functional. No blarringly obvious defects whatsoever. From my research. I believe this to be an early Sigwalt Model from circa the late 19th century that is in exceptionally good condition in comparison to others its age. Features many original, multi-colored Victorian style lithograph decals at both sides and small accents throughout(at other sides and crevases, see pics) Some are faded and partial, most near complete and quite bright& vivid. Amazingly, the vast majority of the original black paint/ japanning remains. Another very cool feature is the last, very old ... morepiece of paper found in the frame. It is a"FASHION SHOW" advertisement/announcement that was to take place at Wallace School on Willow Ave on May 28, 1982. Also included are all of the extras found with the press. I do not"speak presses" so I will let the pictures be the extras' official description(see 1st& last pictures) I did not open any of the cans/tubes of ink/gloss though it is clear that they are nearly full. Actual contents/usability unknown. At the very least, they are neat display items and surely have collectability/value in their advertising qualities alone. The(10) quoins are of(3) different types/sizes/makers(see last pic) and have superb patina. The lead spacers are brand new. When found, they were in a box, half out of the package(seen in 1st& last pics) I just removed the rest to show how many are included(a few hundred, I would guess) I picked from a Northern N.J. farm estate that was first developed in the late 18th century. Original owner had passed and the lady who sold me this press did not even know what it was. So sadly. I was unable to learn any fun or interesting history of this piece. Sigwalt Chicago #9 table top letterpress printing press antique platen Kelsey
Hi. Selling a little table top letterpress printing press. No markings, its either a sigwalt or Chicago#9. Chase inside dimensions are 3-13/16 x 2-1/2. Is made to use with 2 rollers, but this does not have rollers with it. About a year ago I stripped it down, sandblasted it, and painted it black. Looks nice! I replaced the lever nut/ bolt with new stainless hardware. I made the chase out of 1/4" stainless. not original, but works great. I also drilled and tapped for(2) 1/4-20 bolts in the bottom of the chase which eliminates the need for quoins when using a block. platen is nice and even. Adjustment screws work properly. Needs gripper spring. ink disk works and spins as it should. Nice little press. I use it regularly, I just want something bigger. Use as is and ink with a brayer as I do, or buy rollers/trucks. Nice for business cards ... moreand such. I currently have it on a wood base, which I will include if you're doing local pickup, but it is not included if press is being shipped, as it would not be worth the additional shipping charges due to its size. Letterpress printing press Craftsman Pilot C&P table top CHASE 6 1/2 x 10" type
Chase for a large table top printing press. I had several of these laying around. If I recall correctly I got them with a Craftsman brand table top press with a 6 1/2 x 10" printing area. They may also fit a C&P Pilot which is designed and made very similar to the Crafstman. I'll give you the chase dimensions so you can measure your particular press to see if it will fit. My chase does NOT have the little wedge protrusions on the side that are used to fit and mount some chases. My chase would nest into two feet at the lower section of the press and be secured with a movable spring loaded clamp at the top. DIMENSIONS are: 6 1/2 x 10 inside and the outside measures 7 7/8 x 11 3/8. Chase is in fine usable condition. It will hold metal or wood type. No damage or repairs. It lays flat. Rare Vintage KELSEY EXCELSIOR MODEL N 5 x 8 TABLE TOP PRINTING PRESS Up for auction is the rare vintage antique KELSEY EXCELSIOR MODEL N 5 x 8 TABLE TOP PRINTING PRESS. It has been previously used was tested and works well. It is one of its older models. It is a hand operated platen letterpress. It has two rollers that only lack the spun rubber that goes on them that allows you to print on the machine. Cosmetically the machine is in good working condition for its age. We cleaned it up as best we could on its metal/steel parts. Heavy duty and well built. Finding out more information on the machine simply requires utilizing the internet. Weighs almost 70 pounds before packing. The rubber rollers that need to be recovered for the press can be found online as well. The round base had me thinking a Golding but I found this in a printer's basement on the south side of Chicago. Home of Sigwalt. Light surface rust as shown. Handle moves easily and comes with the chase. Someone covered it in gold at one time. A restoration project to make it look pretty, but the pros on printing presses do rave about Sigwalts and many prefer them over Kelseys.
