Vintage Chandler and Price platen printing press, antique, typeset
For sale is a C& P platen press. The serial number in photo two says"1986" from what I have found, that indicates that this press was manufactured in 1890, but I have never used this press other than spinning it over by hand and via the electric motor retrofitted onto it. The press(and the four Hamilton typeset cabinets full of typeset and shapes/designs) are in my basement. Unfortunately our basement does not have good access to get the press out. It will have to be disassembled to get it up the stairs and out. It appears from research that this printer weighs 2550 pounds. This press came with the house that we purchased and we need the space for storage, so it has to go. I am hoping that there is someone who has a passion for this and can use it. Up for sale is an extremely neat vintage Chandler& Price Co. Printing Press out of Cleveland. Ohio. Press was operable when last used. But has not been fired up since. Comes with Kimble Motor- Model No. BB399- Class MS(C)S. Exact dimensions of Press are not documented. But this is a large, heavy duty unit and will require a few people and equipment to load and transport Press shows signs of aging/rusting as shown. Vintage Chandler and Price printing press. I don't know much about this piece. It has been in storage for many years. It belongs to a family member and I am trying to sell it for him. From what I am told the piece is good shape for as old as it is. It moves freely with no binding. It has 4 patented dates on the side dating May 26.1886/ Apl 12,1887/ March12 1889& Jan,1890 which is rare.There is also a stamped date on the handle May 26 1886. The measurements are 28" in width, 42" in height and 44" in lenght. It would make a nice addition to any collection or antique for display. Great Vintage Antique Industrial 3/4" Diagraph Bradley Stencil Machine Punch
This is a great old cast iron Diagraph Bradley Stencil Cutting Machine from a local estate. In great original used condition as you can see in the pictures. Cuts letters about 3/4" tall. No cracks. Chips, breaks or damage and original stencils and decals are very good for its age. Made by the Bradley Stencil Machine Co. of St. Louis, MO. Seems to work good as you can see in the last picture, but would probably need a good cleaning and lubricating to actualiy use. I would prefer that the buyer come and pick this up locally, but I would be willing to build a wood crate to ship it in and transport it to Fastenal or some other local shipping outlet for $25.00. Great looking vintage antique Kelsey 3" x 5" tabletop printing press for cards, postcards, letters. The piece dates to the latter part of the 1800s and has the appropriate look and patina. This is the smallest tabletop press that Kelsey made. It is missing a few parts, including some springs and a round ink plate. There may also be other parts not with the machine; I just don't know what is supposed to be with it. I will let those of you who know these pieces to assess its state and condition from the many photos. The overall mechanism of pushing down on the lever and things moving smoothly in synch seems to be working well. I know these are sought after by many and are getting harder ... moreto find. Ideal Stencil Machine No. 1 Military Industrial 1" WW2 Works! Vintage Antique
Here I have an awesome. WW2 era(I believe) Ideal Stencil Machine Number 1. It makes 1" stencils out of oilboard/cardstock. The machine is complete and does make stencils. It punches strong and prints evenly. The gears that turn the wheel are very brittle. see last photo) They also slip sometimes while turning the wheel(I'm guessing they just need to be tightened) As brittle as they are I do not know how long they will last. But for now they work. And they look like easy gears to get replicated. Other than that. The machine is in incredible shape for how old it is! Could use a little cleaning and oiling, but overall a nice solid machine. I have taken the machine apart into 3 pieces. I will ship in 2 separate packages to avoid damage during shipping.
