Vintage Kelsey & Company Letterpress Chase
You are bidding on a vintage Kelsey& Company letterpress chase. It measures 11 1/2 in. by 7 3/4 in. out side and 10 1/4 by 6 1/4 inside. A 1 inch notch is on the top to latch it on the press with 4 adjusting screws on the bottom and two on one side. There is an aluminium runner on one side that is removeable that i do not know how it stays on when put into the press. All used and in great shape.

Vintage Letterpress American Specimen book of type styles
You are bidding on a vintage 100 year old book of type styles. Printed by the American Type Founders Company in 1912. Back cover and some binding coming apart in the back with water damage on the bottom part of pages in back with the part on machinery. Pages 1139 and on. Some of the front pages stuck together a little bit from water. The rest of the pages with the type styles and extras are good with dirt and dust from the cellar of a print company where it was found. It's heavy and dirty and dusty and has seen better days, But is still great for checking on type styles and the extras that went along with letterpress printing 100 years ago. Old printers used what they had. And in the old letterpress/Linotype shop in our town. The printer used old cigarette boxes to store parts. Marlboro, L&M, Winston, Philip Morris, Cavalier, Hit Parade. In the photo where you see two stacks, the tall stack still has some contents(parts, not cigarettes) the small stack of 3 are empty but still have the labels of what once were stored there. Here are 2 vintage Hamilton Letterpress Trays. Both have 89 compartments. All intact. They each measure 16.5" x 32" The interior of the drawers look really good, with no broken compartments, some dirt. The exteriors show chipping paint and rusty handles but otherwise are tight and good considering age and use. These make great shadow boxes for miniature collectibles.

This is a fantastic pair of vintage cast iron letterpress forms made by Chandler& Price. One has a pair of handles attached to the top and is more rare then the other one which is just a frame. They are about 15.5" tall and 20.5" wide. The inside dimensions are exactly 12" x 18" They have a great patina and look to them. They could be used as a repurposed picture frame or could be the missing pieces to a restoration project. They each weigh about 15lbs and have been left as found. Vintage Craftsmen Monarch 9 x 12 Tabletop Letterpress Printing Press C&P Pilot
One of the largest Tabletop Printing Presses! Craftsmen Monarch 9" x 12" Letterpress Printing Press After Chandler& Price went out of business. Craftsmen Machine Co. of Massachusetts made these copies of the Chandler& Price Pilot. Many of the parts are exact or close copies of the Pilot press and are interchangeable with the Pilot. These later Craftsmen Presses. Like this one, was made of high strength cast aluminum. This monster table top press only weighs 125 lbs(less than half of what is would weigh if in cast iron! This press is fully operational. And includes brand new rubber Rotadyne Rollers and new Craftsmen trucks that I purchased from Craftsmen Machinery Co. which is still in business in Mass. This press includes a Chandler& Price(8 1/2 x 12) chase which fits this machine perfectly without alteration and are ... morereadily available. The funny and sad story about the chase. I purchased this from a home print shop and the owner had never used the press in the almost 30 years he owned it. The press actually shows little use. Over the years he lost the chase. Which I found is almost impossible to locate. Craftsmen sold me their last used one for $180 and the post office left it in front of my shop where it was stolen. As a last resort I tried every chase that I had sitting in the shop and low and behold, the most common chase available fit perfect. The chase is a bit beefier than the Craftsmen chase so it only has a 8.5x12 inner size rather than the 9x12 that the original had, but given that the C&P chase can be found any day for about $40, it makes the press even more versatile. I will be happy to sell the high bidder as many chases as they need for $40 each. You can pick the press up at my shop Antyke. In Scituate, Rhode Island for no charge. Up for bids is this vintage Craftsmen letterpress. It was recently found in an estate sale just as you see it. It appears to be in good condition. It would be really nice looking all painted up or used as is. The rollers are soft but they might need replacing. The chase measures 8" X 11" so I am guessing this to be an 8 X 10? There is no damage to the cast frame or parts. What you see is what you get. I am offering this as a pick up item but can skid it up for you and ship through and LTL carrier. Vintage Craftsman Victory Letterpress Manual Hand Operated Printing Press Rare!
For your consideration is this vintage. Hard to find, Craftsman Machinery CO, Boston Mass, letterpress, printing press. I know little about these. My research indicates that this is a Victory model. In very solid condition with little rust. One thing that I found interesting is the Craftsman name in the casting on the side is missing an"a" As shown in the photos, it is spelt Crftsman, not Craftsman. The flat metal plate( I think is called the platen) measures about 7 3/4" by 5 1/2" The rollers are missing. The metal bracket and wood tray that holds the paper is also missing. There are four bolts that have been replaced. One is a hinge bolt, One of the bolts that attaches the platen and the two bolts that attach the bracket that holds the round ink plate. These bolts are two long and are interfering with the lever that ... moreturns the round plate. These should be visible in the photos and a easy fix with the proper bolts. Not sure if there is anything else missing. Otherwise, mechanically, it appears to be in working condition. Very hefty piece of equipment weighing in at 54 pounds. The Base of the Press measures 4 1/2 by 6 inches and it has some wear and paint wear plus there are a couple spots with older grinder marks with one on the side of Red Handle and one on the smaller Green Handle(photo 7) There are no Letters or other accessories with the Press. Since there are no Letters on the Press the Handle goes further ... moredown than normal so it needs to be lifted a little in the middle swivel area to clear and lift handle. 4 Letterpress Printing CHASES Chandler& Price C&P Type-Frames 8"x12" 9x13 Up for auction are four letterpress printing chases for type. They are all made of cast-iron. Two of the frames bear the name"Chandler& Price" Along with the number 828 1/2, hash marks on the borders. The third frame bears the same number but does not have the manufacturers name. Instead it bears a Roman numeral, otherwise it is nearly identical. All three have rounded interior corners for lifting the type. All three are 3/4" deep, and have an interior dimesion of 8"x12" exterior dimension is 10 1/4"x 13 3/4" The fourth frame is slightly different, without any markings and an interior size of 9"x13" Condition is Very Good/ VG: apart from some mild surface rust the only damage to speak of is a cracked ... moreupper-right corner to one of the C&P frames. It's a hairline crack but goes clear through& should be mended. The other frames are sound& there are no other serious defects.
