Let me know if you have any specific part you want me to list, and I'll endeavor to list it ASAP. These are Brass Balancing Shims to balance the cylinder. Usually. You will never need these, but if you have a bad jam, the cylinder impression may become uneven. You can fix this fairly easily by loosening the two large mounting bolts on the side you wish to adjust and sliding the shims down and re-tightening the bolts. That is why the shims are in a"C" shape: they slide down each side of the mounting bolt. There are 5 thick(about 1 point) and 7 thin(about 1/2 point, comparable to 12# paper) ones. They are used, stained, and some are a little bent, but all are usable and in good condition. I am pricing them a little high so one person will think twice about just buying them all up, leaving them available for more people. TELL ME WHICH SHIMS YOU WANT. If you do not specify. I will send you matched pairs of thick and thin until I run out. Remember, I have 5 thick and 7 thin ones. If you are correcting impression from a bad jam. You will probably only need one thick and two thin shims at the maximum, and possibly just one or two thin ones. Letterpress 23" x 35" Barely Used Cylinder Press Steel Die Cut Jacket
This is a letterpress cylinder die cut jacket apparently for a 23" 58.4 cm) x 35" 88.9 cm) cylinder press made by Bar-Plate. A company that makes after market die cut jackets. It has a virtually untouched canvas tie down. What press it was made for is unknown, but I have used jackets exactly like this for Heidelberg cylinder presses. It has been sitting in an ex-wife's garage after the husband's business was disbanded and she has lost track of her husbands ex-employees, so there is no way to find out exactly what type of press it was for. Apparently, it was only used for two jobs before the business closed. There are a few small die cut circles on the otherwise pristine surface. There is also the ghost image of a kiss cutting job that has not made any permanent damage. Otherwise, the jacket is in brand new condition. The ... morecylinder that it was designed for is about 14" in diameter. My estimation that the sheet size of the press is just that: an estimate. The jacket actual goes for 25" but I haven't heard of a 25" x 35" press. The gripper edge has ten 1/4" diameter holes drilled in it. The end ones are 1 1/4" 31mm) from each end and then about 3 5/8" weak) If you want to see any other view. Let me know and I will endeavor to post it asap. I usually ship USPS for light cartons. Up for bid is an early Vintage 1900's Miehle Sheet Fed Cylinder Letterpress Printing Press. Excellent condition. The press measures approx. 8 feet by 16 feet. Chase size is approx. 36" X 48" Used until a few years ago. Recently recovered rubber rollers. This type press has been offered& sold for many times the asking price over the past 25 years. This is perhaps one of the best of a handful of such presses still in existence.Are only aim is to find someone who will preserve it.
