The only item I can readily identify is part#22294. The Guard Hinge Stud. I let a less than careful assistant"help" me disassemble the press, and this is the result. More"extra" parts to come. The press was completely refurbished around 1980 and was used pretty much continuously for the next 15 years. When I got the KSBA. The vertical was then used only sporadically until about 2003. After 2003, it was used virtually never, maybe 2- 5 jobs a year. There is some grease. Oil, and dried ink on the associated assemblies, but I cleaned them enough for you to see what good condition they are in. I lubricate my equipment very well because I am penurious. Oil is cheaper than repairs. If you want to see any other view, let me know and I will endeavor to post it asap. Insurance will be included only if you demand and pay $2.00 for it. You will never need these, but if you have a bad jam, the cylinder impression may become uneven. You can fix this fairly easily by loosening the two large mounting bolts on the side you wish to adjust and sliding the shims down and re-tightening the bolts. That is why the shims are in a"C" shape: they slide down each side of the mounting bolt. There are 5 thick(about 1 point) and 7 thin(about 1/2 point, comparable to 12# paper) ones. They are used, stained, and some are a little bent, but all are usable and in good condition. I am pricing them a little high so one person will think twice about just buying them all up, leaving them available for more people. TELL ME WHICH SHIMS YOU WANT. If you do not specify. I will send you matched pairs of thick and thin until I run out. Remember, I have 5 thick and 7 thin ones. If you are correcting impression from a bad jam. The idea was that information was collected(the open arrows) and collated and interpreted for the client(the solid black arrow) The large one is the configuration used by the company, but you can turn them to whatever direction you want, hence the two small ones pointing in different directions. These are 3 letterpress printing cuts(plates. Dies) mounted about type high on hardwood used in my grandfather's print shop years ago. They are line cuts, no halftones, and so are suitable for printing on all types of paper, from high gloss to chipboard. They are used and have no significant damage. The rack is in great shape except for a few dents on the corners of some teeth I caused when removing it. Otherwise, the teeth look and feel new. Chalk up one for compulsive oiling. Keep in mind that the impression cylinder AND the cylinder frame have to be removed from the front to install this part. A few smaller assemblies also have to be removed to get to the 4 huge cylinder bolts. Which require a 15/16" hex key. The cylinder weighs a LOT less than I thought it would. I estimate it at only about 100 pounds, which can be handled by one strong guy(me) or two normal strength guys. The rack cannot be removed from the back, but ALL the installation screws and bolts that hold it in are only accessible from the back. The press was completely refurbished around 1980 and was used pretty much continuously for the next 15 years, when I got the KSBA. The vertical was then used only sporadically until about 2003. As one of them was misnumbered by the factory, and one doesn't appear to be in the parts book. These parts all came off of the impression cylinder when I removed it. These parts are from the left side of the cylinder. The part#22051(not listed in book) can be seen on page 10 of the parts book, but no attribution is there. I would call it a left cylinder mounting bracket as it is the one that the two large mounting bolts go through to hold the left side of the cylinder in place. The part misnumbered by hand at the factory as#23853" as shown in the photo) is listed in the parts book as#23859, Ratchet Pawl Lock Collar. The three springs are#22265, Thrust Collar Springs. The other collar I can't easily find in the parts book, but it goes with these other parts. When the cylinder is removed, these parts just slide off the side. All parts here are in good to very good condition. The press was completely refurbished around 1980 and was used pretty much continuously for the next 15 years. When I got the KSBA. Part#22680 and the Control Valve Rod Assembly, parts#22476, 22475, 22477, TP-108, TP-100. This is the long steel shaft that most of the parts in the first VA parts page are mounted on, and the long control rod assembly that goes inside the bushing. They are in very good condition, with some superficial scratches and rust on exposed areas, but the very good condition is the product of lots of oiling. If you are looking for a very nice thick steel pipe to carry around in your car or truck for self defense(and you can claim to law enforcement that you are just transporting a press part) this is the one, but you need some upper body strength to wield it with dexterity. My best guess on the original manufacture date of this press is pre-1928. This press has been completely disassembled; the only exception to this is the ink table operating dog was not removed from the carriage during the restoration process. All painted parts were stripped down to the metal and re-finished with 2 coats of primer then 2 coats of color. The raised type in the castings have been accented with black paint. All non-painted parts(pivoting rods. Ink arms, etc. were cleaned thoroughly. The fasteners in the platen back have been replaced with stainless steel cap head screws. Nuts& washers. The set screws in the chase have been replaced with new stainless steel hex drive screws. The chase latch spring is new. A custom made extension has been added to the chase latch to prevent the spring from damaging the finish on the press. ... moreThe roller hook springs, retaining washer and pins are all new and made of stainless steel. I fabricated new grippers for this press. This press has a new ink table machined out of plate steel. The platen has been balanced to the chase bed with.030" packing under the tympan and is included with the press. The additional sheets of press packing included will allow you to change the packing under the tympan to adjust the print impression height as you change stock caliper. This is much easier than re-balancing the platen each time you change stock caliper. The press is currently packed to print on.012" stock. For example. If you wanted to print on.007" stock, you would add a sheet of.005" packing under the tympan. As with any press, the condition of your type and blocks and the uniformity of the type height will ultimately determine the quality of the printed image. The type used to print the proof card is new. Rollers have been recovered with new rubber on original journal. Trucks are also original. Letterpress 23" x 35" Barely Used Cylinder Press Steel Die Cut Jacket
This is a letterpress cylinder die cut jacket apparently for a 23" 58.4 cm) x 35" 88.9 cm) cylinder press made by Bar-Plate. A company that makes after market die cut jackets. It has a virtually untouched canvas tie down. What press it was made for is unknown, but I have used jackets exactly like this for Heidelberg cylinder presses. It has been sitting in an ex-wife's garage after the husband's business was disbanded and she has lost track of her husbands ex-employees, so there is no way to find out exactly what type of press it was for. Apparently, it was only used for two jobs before the business closed. There are a few small die cut circles on the otherwise pristine surface. There is also the ghost image of a kiss cutting job that has not made any permanent damage. Otherwise, the jacket is in brand new condition. The ... morecylinder that it was designed for is about 14" in diameter. My estimation that the sheet size of the press is just that: an estimate. This is an original Chandler& Price Pilot Press upper feed board bracket& feed board. This is the complete bracket with upper and lower parts and an original wooden upper feed table. It mounts directly to the underside of the lower feed board. If you don't have enough room for feeding on your C&P Pilot you might enjoy having a bit more surface area. The bracket assembly is in excellent original condition. But the board is a bit rough. You can either use it as-is or use it as a pattern to make a new one to match the wood on your press. This is a Wesel Mfg. Co. N.Y. Washington Style, Hand Printer's Proof Press. This press would be a beautiful addition to a small studio print shop. The Wesel Co. was in business from 1900- 1923. The platen size is 13 3/4 x 18. By doing some Research. I have found that this press was manufactured some where in the area of 1905 or thereabouts. It weighs in at approx. 900 Lbs. And is 63" Tall. The factory scribed two lines that find the dead center of the bed. For layout purposes. I have checked the bed and it has a slight low spot in the center area of.001 to.002. Which if OK, and normal. This press has an old paint job using a very good quality of primer and paint that could have been done 30 year's ago or so. All I did is wipe it down with a 50/50 mix of mineral spirits and new engine oil. I have not disassembled and/ or reassembled ... morethis press. Other than the figure 4 toggle mechanism and the platen adjustment. I did however paint on the gold leaf lettering and the large nuts on the top of the press. I have left the beautiful patina on the figure 4 toggle mechanism and also on the inner brass ring on the large wood handle. The outer rounded nut on the end of the handle was cleaned and then clear coated by some previous owner. I have also left the layers of ink that has built up over the years on the wood handle. I feel if the buyer want's to emery cloth. Sand and polish these in the future that is their option. T here is no Tympan or Frisket with this press. Sigwalt Chicago #9 table top letterpress printing press antique platen Kelsey
Hi. Selling a little table top letterpress printing press. No markings, its either a sigwalt or Chicago#9. Chase inside dimensions are 3-13/16 x 2-1/2. Is made to use with 2 rollers, but this does not have rollers with it. About a year ago I stripped it down, sandblasted it, and painted it black. Looks nice! I replaced the lever nut/ bolt with new stainless hardware. I made the chase out of 1/4" stainless. not original, but works great. I also drilled and tapped for(2) 1/4-20 bolts in the bottom of the chase which eliminates the need for quoins when using a block. platen is nice and even. Adjustment screws work properly. Needs gripper spring. ink disk works and spins as it should. Nice little press. I use it regularly, I just want something bigger. Use as is and ink with a brayer as I do, or buy rollers/trucks. Chase for a large table top printing press. I had several of these laying around. If I recall correctly I got them with a Craftsman brand table top press with a 6 1/2 x 10" printing area. They may also fit a C&P Pilot which is designed and made very similar to the Crafstman. I'll give you the chase dimensions so you can measure your particular press to see if it will fit. My chase does NOT have the little wedge protrusions on the side that are used to fit and mount some chases. My chase would nest into two feet at the lower section of the press and be secured with a movable spring loaded clamp at the top. DIMENSIONS are: 6 1/2 x 10 inside and the outside measures 7 7/8 x 11 3/8. Chase is in fine usable condition. It will hold metal or wood type. No damage or repairs. It lays flat. Antique GOLDING OFFICIAL LETTERPRESS Model 2..? Nice Printing Press Tabletop
Early GOLDING OFFICIAL Tabletop Letterpress Looks to be a Model 2. Great for YOUR Collection. Great way to get into Tabletop Printing. Up for offer is a Original Golding Official Letterpress. Looks to be a Model 2 although I cannot verify that. Marked GOLDING MFG. CO. as well as FRANKLIN. MASS. USA on one side and OFFICIAL on other side. Press is missing the ink disk and the chase as can be seen in photos. Also missing the small finger that rotates the ink disk. No ink rollers. Ink rollers should be readily available on ebay. This could easily be operated without the ink disk as the form could be inked with a hand brayer until a disk can be obtained. Has normal wear from use and storage including scratches. Scuffs, marring and some light spots of surface corrosion is several spots. I have cleaned it and oiled it to the best of my ability ... moreand it LOOKS GREAT. No breaks or repairs. Looks to have what might be original paint. The press opens and closes very nicely and operates very smoothly. Paper platen is offset slightly to the left of the chase area(pic 4) I believe this is as it was set up from the factory. Has gripper arms as shown. J hooks are nice and move freely in guides. J hook springs look to be original and function well. Paper platen measures approx. 4 1/2" x 6 7/8" Weight is approx. 41 pounds. Measures approx. 25" tall from bottom of base to top of arm when arm is upright. Hole for ink disk shaft looks to be 5/8" diameter.Auction includes only what is shown in photos. Previous owner did a ton of restoration on it. Comes with 2 chases. I believe the treadle is from a C&P due to the patterns on it. The treadle was removed in some of the pictures but I assure you it exists. Actually. Here is a video I took of it: The inside chase actually measures just under about 13”x9” but I would treat it as a 12”x8” Comes with new. Never used rollers. They are still wrapped with paper except for the little edge I tore in order to take a picture. It’s currently on the skids pictured. Located in a residential garage in Seattle. Challenge Platen Printing Press Letterpress
Challenge platen press I bought it a few years ago and while attempting to move it ourselves. It fell off the truck and was damaged. The bar that holds the flywheel on is broken. As well as the arm that holds the wooden shelf on the front, and the lever on the side. In addition to the damage from falling off the truck, one of the holders for the rollers is broken, and the roller that is on there needs to be replaced as well. I havent had the time or money to look into repairing it. And it has just been sitting in the garage under plastic. Local pick up only. It is extremely heavy and you will need at least a few people and a truck to pick it up. But an engine hoist would be best if you have it.

Biggest Antique hand roller I ever saw. If you have some big inking to do this is the roller you want. The rubber roller itself measures 10" wide. Unfortunately it does have a few indentations but I am sure the roller could be replaced if necessary. In all it measures 13" wide by 10 1/2" from the end of the handle to the rubber roller. Parts/Fix Kelsey & Co Excelsior 3 x 5" Letterpress Tabletop Printing Press 1893
I sold this quite awhile ago for $300. However unfortunately the plate was cracked in two during shipping and another arm beneath the plate has broken. I'm sure there's people out there who can salvage the parts or perhaps even repair this to working condition. There is some light rust which can clearly be seen in the orange hue. Originally this was black with gold detailing. Much of this black patina and gold detail remains but it is far from complete. This weighs near 30 pounds(shipping will be based upon buyer location since it is so heavy) There is an April 6. 1893 patent date as well as patent numbers for England, France and Germany. I am not real familiar with these letter presses. So I won't be able to answer technical questions. This would need a fair amount of TLC to bring it back to life, but there are inevitably some ... moregood parts on here that can be used to go that route. Shipped based upon buyer location(shipping something this heavy out West can be very expensive) If I'm able to find a cheaper option than the one automatically calculated(USPS Parcel) then that will be used and I will pass savings onto you. Payment I have had to take precautions because of people not paying. You will have 4 days to pay. Then an unpaid item case will be opened. From this point you will have another 4 days to pay. Vintage Craftsmen Monarch 9 x 12 Tabletop Letterpress Printing Press C&P Pilot
One of the largest Tabletop Printing Presses! Craftsmen Monarch 9" x 12" Letterpress Printing Press After Chandler& Price went out of business. Craftsmen Machine Co. of Massachusetts made these copies of the Chandler& Price Pilot. Many of the parts are exact or close copies of the Pilot press and are interchangeable with the Pilot. These later Craftsmen Presses. Like this one, was made of high strength cast aluminum. This monster table top press only weighs 125 lbs(less than half of what is would weigh if in cast iron! This press is fully operational. And includes brand new rubber Rotadyne Rollers and new Craftsmen trucks that I purchased from Craftsmen Machinery Co. which is still in business in Mass. This press includes a Chandler& Price(8 1/2 x 12) chase which fits this machine perfectly without alteration and are ... morereadily available. The funny and sad story about the chase. I purchased this from a home print shop and the owner had never used the press in the almost 30 years he owned it. The press actually shows little use. Over the years he lost the chase. Which I found is almost impossible to locate. Craftsmen sold me their last used one for $180 and the post office left it in front of my shop where it was stolen. As a last resort I tried every chase that I had sitting in the shop and low and behold, the most common chase available fit perfect. The chase is a bit beefier than the Craftsmen chase so it only has a 8.5x12 inner size rather than the 9x12 that the original had, but given that the C&P chase can be found any day for about $40, it makes the press even more versatile. Baltimore #11 Letterpress Platen Printing Press, type & manual, Baumgarten & Co
This is an excellent example of the Baltimore#11 letterpress manufactured by Baumgarten& Company. Unknown age. But approximately 100-125 years old. The Baltimore letterpress has been out of production for over a century and therefore continues to increase in value. Information on these types of presses. As well as various supplies and instructions can be readily found on the Internet. This 2-roller self inking table top letterpress is in very good condition(for the age) It was recently disassembled and cleaned. It still has the original paint and even some ink left from printing days gone by. This was not a restoration. Just a partial cleaning. The press is missing the rollers. But new rollers can be purchased right here on EBay. All other parts are intact. Includes: Press mounted on wooden platform(wood has a crack in it) Two original ... morefonts(Copperplate Gothic#24 and#26) hand ink roller, 4 original roller trucks, misc. wood and metal furniture, extra type pieces, 4 tubes of ink(condition unknown) composing stick(lots of rust) and original manual(well abused) The press measures 12' long x 11' high x 7' wide and weighs about 12 pounds. With all accessories included. It weighs 19 pounds. The Platen measures approximately 4.75' x 3.00' The inside Chase measures approximately 4.00" x 2.50' Cast in platen back. BALTIMORE. Baumgarten& Co. produced a line of presses exactly parallel to Dorman’s. But used the name Baltimore instead of Baltimorean, and made minor changes in the castings. This#11 press is the same as the Baltimore#10 press except it has provision for 2 rollers and originally came with 2 fonts and some other extras in the kit. Please ask any questions before bidding.

Antique Baltimore Toy Platen Miniature Letterpress/Printing Press
Up for auction is a antique Baltimore toy Platen miniature letterpress. It does say"Baltimore" on it but I don't see a model# anywhere on the press. It was manufactured by Baumgarten and company. This press is more than 100 years old. It was probably last used in 1926 because that is the date on the paper that is still in the press. The press is missing its rollers and platen but these can be replaced. The color is black and the measurements are 12" long. 11" high and 7" in depth. It weights between 11 and 12 lbs. Very rare antique treadle powered letterpress. Manufactured by George W. Prouty in Boston between 1878 and 1926. The press operates smoothly but since the rollers(pictured) are badly decomposed I have not been able to pull any proofs. The roller cores. However, can be recovered. The press looks to be a 5"7" it is smaller than the usual 8"10" Chandler Price) The press comes with one chase. The roller cores& appropriate roller trucks(see picture) There is one weld on the treadle. The weld is over 30 years old. Local pick-up only. Zip code 48033, Southfield, MI. Press has been cleaned and oiled/lubed and functions as it should. Moves smoothly and ink table spins with each movement. This beautiful Press wears it's original Battleship Grey paint which shows some chipping and wear as is expected with items of this vintage. Press is complete as pictured and will need rollers. Antique Kelsey model E , 6 x 10 Excelsior tabletop letterpress printing press
Offered in this auction is a Kelsey& co 6x10 model E Excelsior table top letterpress printing press. In great condition. No dents or cracks. Free from rust. many, many extras. 23 full trays of letters, sorted, not mixed. Rubber rollers are used with dried ink on them. Pivot points are free moving. Very hard to find these in this condition and with all the bells and whistles. The original cabinet cannot fit all the letter trays! All sorts of pieces, and extras in very old cigar boxes is how they were stored. It was stored in gentlemans attic for years. All sorts of printing manuals also included. The press weighs 85 lbs. SIGWALT CHICAGO No.11 Tabletop PRINTING PRESS LETTERPRESS
Sigwalt Chicago#11 letterpress. This is a wonderful Sigwalt Chicago tabletop letterpress. Believe this is the#11 press as it does hold two rollers. The press is black with gold accent paint and retains most of the decal decoration on one side. But only a portion on the other side. This press measures approximately 17' long with handle down, 14' with handle up, 6-1/2' wide and weighs about 12.4 lbs. It is in very good working condition with smooth action but does not come with a chase, type or rollers. The paint is in good condition with some paint loss and normal wear.
