Original 1960s Guinness advertising showcard. Card is 30cm x 20cm and shows animals playing in the surf. Condition is very good for age with only very minor marks/foxing to edges. I have listed this item as used because of age. But the pull out stand at rear has never been opened as you can see in the photo. Offering a Showcard letterpress printer. This is a used item the plate measures 14 x 23" There is some rust around the bottom but it does not affect the machine at all, the roller rolls freely. there are 2 small nicks on the plate that also do not affect machine. I used this to make numerous large posters and sale signs for a business years ago. This is heavy around 200 lbs. Local pick up or I will put it on a pallett and have it ready to be picked up for freight at the buyers expense. It advertises the company TURNBULL& SOMMERVILLE of MALTA who were the sole distributors of this brand. Designed to hang on a wall its thick card and measures 30 x 23 cms. The lithographic image is beautifully detailed and lovely and bright. There are a few marks and stains on it which are consistent with it being around 120 years old. There is some creasing to the top left corner. This would frame beautifully with a mat which would cover the majority of any imperfections. Antique"Mini" Vandercook Showcard Proof Press 7"11" along with wood and metal type. This press was made by Vandercook under contract to Showcard Press Company. Chicago, IL. Labeled as"Showcard" Press, this press was the smallest Vandercook Proof Press ever built. This Showcard press model has an 8x11 sheet capacity. It has been stamped N. 5651. The set includes the press with lock bars and letter spring holders. Wood and metal letters with 2 metal type cases and 2 rollers. Considering age and wear the set is in very good condition. The press seems to work properly and rolls with no problems. The bottom grid plate is in good condition. Please examine all pictures carefully. There is very little rust. There is some rust and pitting on the metal type cases but not at all bad. They are in very good structural condition. ... moreThe type is in good condition overall with a few nicks on the wood type but very few. And, of course there is some ink still left on the wood and metal type. Label on press reads: Showcard Machine Co. 320 W. Ohio St. Chicago, ILL. Pat. 1910986. I believe the patent was around 1933. I purchased this neat press two years ago. And was planning to get into letterpress. Then life got busy, and now I'm losing my storage area so its time to sell it. This is a Model B Special Showcard Press. It measures a little under three feet long and 22" wide at its widest point. It is very heavy. I bought this one because I wanted to be able to print on 11 x 17 paper. I also have for sale a monstrous Imposing Stone. Type Cabinets, and a Light Table. Unusual Fluorescent Guinness Showcard - 1950'S
This is the only one of these I've ever seen. It's a black fuzzy cardboard showcard with fluorescent printing that makes it glow brightly under a black light(see third picture) It was made around 1952 for the US market. This is an authentic Hatch Show Print poster. Made in their Nashville letterpress shop, despite the fact that this one does not have their traditional tagline at the bottom. This is one of a set of prints that hangs in their shop currently, made from an old handcarved woodblock. It measures 11" x 17.35" on a thick, matte, cream-colored paper. It has no damage or wear, but please note the imperfections in the ink which are normal and desirable in the letterpress process. This poster can be either rolled or shipped flat. He served in the Air Force from 1954 until 1957, then moved to the Lower East Side of Manhattan. There he joined a loose circle of Greenwich Village artists, musicians, and writers. A Superb Vintage Shop Counter Showcard Sign-PELAW METAL POLISH-Fab Colours.
This superb Vintage Pelaw Metal Polish Shop Counter Showcard Sign measures approximately 15x10 inches excluding the grey card upon which it is mounted. It weighs around 330 grams and dates I believe to around 1930-50. The Sign is made of thick Card and has a wonderful depiction and excellent colours. Any signs of wear are commensurate with age and use. and basically consist of very minor scuffs. Some minor marks and minor colour variation. I believe that the Showcard was mounted onto the grey card in order to save the corners and edges from sustaining damage. A superb addition to any similar collection. Its condition is as per the photographs.

This Vintage NO CHEQUES CHANGED Shop Counter Showcard Sign measures approximately 10x4 inches. It weighs around 107 grams and dates I believe to around the 1950s. The Sign is made of Plasticised Card& Tin. Any signs of wear are commensurate with age and use. and basically consist of marks. Scuffs& scratches. The cord to hang requires replacing and there are some remnants of sticky tack to the reverse where it has been wall mounted.

I offer you this SCARCE" SHOWCARD" PROGRAM for a musical" THE GOLDEN SCREW" The show ran from January 30. 1967 to March 5, 1967 at the PROVINCETOWN PLAYHOUSE, Greenwich Village, New York City. This was a Famous off-off Broadway FOLK ROCK MUSICAL written and performed by TOM SANKEY. MUSIC also performed by INNER SANCTUM. The show's cast album was the first rock theatrical recording of its kind. The Play follows a Bob Dylanesque singer figure from folk music roots to commercialization. Great 60's piece. SCARCE and very COLLECTIBLE. The Program remains in Very Nice Condition. There is a light Vertical fold through the Program, the result of probably being carried inside a jacket pocket- not at all serious but mentioned for accuracy. Successful bidder adds $3.00 for U. S.
