This is a fantastic pair of vintage cast iron letterpress forms made by Chandler& Price. One has a pair of handles attached to the top and is more rare then the other one which is just a frame. They are about 15.5" tall and 20.5" wide. The inside dimensions are exactly 12" x 18" They have a great patina and look to them. Kelsey Mercury Model P 5-8 Excelsior Hand Lever Platen Letterpress This is a fully functional table-top platen lever press manufactured by Kelsey& Company. As shown in the photos it is complete with all parts and ready to produce. This hand lever press is in good working condition. But has not been used in more than 40 years. I obtained it from a business sale in 1973 and have not used it for printing since then. The press still operates smoothly but the working parts need cleaning and lubrication to function at their best. Some parts have dried ink on them. But this can be removed with solvent. The original paint finish on the press is generally in good condition with few chips or nicks. There is no rust on any of the working parts. This late manufacture Kelsey Model P includes the l ocking bed feature not found on the earlier manufactured ... moremodels. It also includes an impression counter that is operated by the action of the press handle. The Kelsey presses are no longer in production and therefore will continue to increase in value as collectors acquire them. Information. Supplies and instruction for the use of the press can readily be found on the internet. The Press measures 24' long x 16' high x 14' wide and weighs 68 lbs with rollers and trucks installed. The press is mounted on a 16 inch square 3/4 inch thick plywood base. The Platen measures 9.00" x 6.50' The inside Chase measures 8.00' x 5.00" The auction sale includes: 1 Kelsey Model P Letterpress. With chase and associated equipment: 2 high quality rubber rollers and two additional rollers that have some damage. These are the original rollers that I bought with the press. Platen disc is a bit over 9" across. Is this the largest tabletop model they made? Steel rule dies Greek alphabet sorority fraternity clicker press sweater shirt
This is a set of steel-rule dies shaped to cut the Greek alphabet. It was intended to cut cloth for the production of fraternity and sorority garments(shirts. Sweaters, jackets, etc. but it can just as effectively cut paper. These dies were made by a company called ADC. Or Athletic Die Cutters. Since it produced these dies the company changed its name to Advanced Cutting Systems, or ACS, and moved to Live Oak, Florida. You can see its products by clicking This die set came with an ADC rotary cutter(not included in the auction) We have no use for these dies so here they are. They should work in most roller die cutting machines like AccuCut GrandeMARK MARK III. IV, and Super Jumbo as well as Ellison SureCut ClearCrop AllStar Sizzix. The die set has a.918” blade height(measured from the back of the die to the tip of the cutting blade) The.918” ... moreblade height is an industry standard and most machines can be set up to use.918” The dies themselves are still very sharp and testing shows that they are still very capable of effortlessly cutting through multiple layers of cloth. The dies mount on 5/8-inch birch plywood. The largest die boards measure 5 3/4 by 8 3/8. Some are smaller. The gaps in the set are largely due to the fact that some of these dies cut shapes for multiple letters. For example. Theta consists of the major shape from omicron dies with a detail from xi. And there are a few missing dies. For example, there are neither Sigma dies nor the detail die for omega. I do know, however, that these complete die sets are considerably more expensive than having the missing dies made. We have a very reliable steel-rule die manufacturer. I am selling 3ea Healights from my Mercedes CL500. I spent $1100 for a pair of lights. And now I am selling 2 good and 1 working but damaged headlights. The good right light needs to have the ballast replaced(but a good tested ballast is included in the package) THE RIGHT LIGHT ALONE IS WORTH OVER $500.00! AND IS FULLY FUNCTIONAL. The left light that is not externally damaged. But the geared mechanism that moves the light automatically is damaged. This makes little difference to the lights function, and could be easily McGivered into the right position and lock it there. The second Left light worked great even in its condition. good for parts and bulbs. Ballast etc. Some covers are missing.
